  • Hasegawa Katsuhide teaching kata Tomari Bassai, under the supervision of Soke Mabuni Kenyu. The kata has been divided in short sequences and each sequence has been reported from 2 different points of view.
The aim of this video is to provide high level of detail for each technique. Hopefully, this will constitute an authoritative reference for kata Tomari Bassai, to be adopted by all Shito-Ryu practitioners worldwide, both competitors and traditionalists.
Hasegawa and Mabuni are two legends of Karate. Hasegawa Katsuhide won 6 WKF World titles in team kata, together with his brothers Yukimitsu and Shinici. Mabuni Kenyu is the grandson of the founder of the Shitoryu style, Mabuni Kenwa.
This video was recorded during a Karate seminar organized by Sensei Con Kassis on the 14th of February 2015 in Melbourne (Victoria, Australia).
