November 18th, 2024 This TV is on sale at Best Buy and Sam’s Club for $1,599. We ordered one, and it took a week to arrive. Surprisingly, MAERSK (yes, the giant shipping company) delivered it right to our door. No, I didn’t order a container load-just one TV! I have to say, it’s fantastic. No need for Comcast TV anymore-just Comcast internet.
You two have honed in your reviews. Good idea focusing on big sizes, not something you see everyday. What you talk about covers what most people need to know, and not a bunch of jargon. The buying advice is a nice touch too. I need to replace my 85” tv, and thought I was going to get an 85” QM8, but now I’m toying around with this tv for the same price.
One thing I would like to remind people of WHAT NOT TO DO when buying and setting up tvs that are 42" and larger is to throw away the box as well as the packaging such as the foam inserts and so on. YOU SHOULD ALWAYS keep the box and packaging FOR FUTURE TRANSPORT. What happens when or if you end up moving? The problem that people run into is that they throw the box and inserts away and then when it comes time to move the TV to a new apartment or house, they have no way to do so safely. Although it may suck to have to keep the box for quite a long time or until you actually get rid of the tv, it's always going to be the best solution because movers are not going to want to have to deal with trying to figure out how to protect and transport your big 70 inch or 80-inch tv. Wrappijg a few blankets around the TV is just not going to be sufficient in cmostc cases ESPECIALLY IT OR WHEN you may be traveling across town or the country. There are billions of pothooes along the way and just a few vibrations can damage the TV. Also, it's just going to be easiest and best to transport it in the original packaging since that's the safest way. Another thing to keep in mind is to never ever ever ever ever ever ever transport a TV face up or face down. With the vibrations going down the road, you are going to break the screen plain and simple. Always transport a TV with it vertical or perpendicular to the Earth.
I just sold my Lg C3 77 inch for this exact same tv, yes the OLED is great but it was too small for my living space and where I am from you cant get the 83 inch plus it would have been too expensive. This means I have an excellent reference for quality. You will not regret this tv in 98 inch from am immersive experience! I am not technical person but if anyone has any questions ask me here. What needs to be said here is that only the 98 inch comes with 120hz native screen and game pro 3. The 85 inch I believe also has native 120hz but not game pro 3. I could be wrong
@@simonrafia4519 I definitely would never say this could be better than an OLED but if I had the choice as I did to upgrade to a monster tv or take a smaller OLED I would always go bigger. comes down to room size etc
I think for a TV that massive it needs to have good viewing angles, imagine watching the superbowl, boxing fight, olympics, guests are going to view the tv from all angles.
The thing is, the bigger the tv, the wider the sweet spot is and more people can view the screen without being say greater than 35 degrees off angle where there will START to be a shift in brightness or color. And even then, it's not like the picture is terrible and unwatchable. Your average person does not notice tv picture quality as much as tv enthusiasts. I currently have the 100" Hisense U8.. Actually typing this message on it right now.
I can help as ive been researching these big tv's. The U76 has local dimming which allows the panel to achieve better contrast because it can keep the screen mostly black except the areas that need to be lit up.
