On that part that he replaced, you don’t even need it save your money. Just take one end off the one closest to the steering shaft by the steering wheel pop that one piece loose and it will start every time without worrying about it ever happened again I did it. It works. I’m happy.

I have a 2001 Chevrolet Silverado and I back in the my driveway and I backed up a little bit to far and I went to put it in drive and it wouldn't go down in drive and want go in park but I can crank it up in nugle and It want down in drive?

My buddy had that same problem on his obs. He pulled on the shifter so hard he broke it off of the steering column had to replace the whole steering column

I replaced this part, but it wasn't the issue. My mechanic told me to check my brake lights, and they weren't working. He told me it needed a brake light switch. (GM D891A for me). Got it installed a few minutes ago, and it shifts just fine and I now have brake lights. I haven't taken it on the road as of yet, but my cruise control went out at about the same time, and I'm hoping that works now too.
I have worked for UPS and the mechanic replaced the brake light switch all the time in the GM package cars. And that was like at least one a week 😬🙄. It was the same problem lol the Ford’s never had this problem. Way to go GM!!!
Chevys have a lot of problems people talk crap about ford but it seems like Chevy is the junk one I used to like them till I started learning about fords oh and Toyota is good too I got a tacoma them things are really reliable

I got a 98 GMC Sierra four-wheel drive extended cab 1500 in this video was very helpful thank you because I just started having this problem today and I'm going to just take the stupid thing off because I had an old K5 Blazer back in the day and it did not have a safety any of the old squarebodys I was ever in my dad had a 78 actually two different 78i 1-ton long bed and a K-5 and I also had an 83 Suburban none of anyway my point is is none of the square bodies had a safety feature all you had to do was turn the key and you can pull it out of work you didn't have to have your foot on the brake my 77 OVGuide was the same way and my dad had a 79 Z28 and 74 Z28 and they were like that too anyway so I'm just going to disconnect the thing and do it like old school
Buddy I have a 2007 classic body style Duramax and I have air but no balls chiller!!! Man I got robbed!! Mine won’t go into park!! I’ve been trying to figure out if I have a stretched cable or if I might have the same issue that you are having??? I am jealous now and I’m definitely going to have to get a ball chiller now!!! Got a problem that sounds very much like yours my truck is a Chevy Colorado and it's stuck in park so glad it got stuck at home showed no sign of anything till I parked it then this stuck in park trying to research the problem and sounds like there are a few causes it's a bit of a pain to run em on down and it will all start with a cable from the tranny on up at this point don't recon I know what's up yet but I sure do appreciate you talking the time to show what you whent throught now what year is your truck mayi ask thank you for sharing

Make sure that that whole part that he got off of Amazon didn’t get just displaced from where it’s supposed to be snapped in before you order a part off of Amazon; it might be a matter of just gorilla glue in the thing back in place where it goes in a couple of zip ties and you’re good for the rest of life for that vehicle. Without ordering Chinese shit.

I just removed mine ( 2001 2500 HD ) throwed it in the trash and did not put another in . No problem after 6 months and going good . Watch those kids though !
yeah I had the same problem, I removed my fuse for turn signals and replaced it once I got it started used it as a security feature and then one day it just started working again without removing the fuse
I did that on a cat eye and ripped it down now I can’t get it to go past n into drive to drive my truck hopefully this video helps do that and idk what else maybe shift cable stretched from ripping the damn thing
Mine does the same after some drifting/ doing Donuts on gravel. But its making bad noises too... But only sometimes. Any tips? Converter? If it drives, it drives and shifts fine

I have a similar issue, hard as hell to shift, occasionally it'll pop and wont shift into drive sometimes unless I go all the way down to second gear and start rolling before I toss it back up into drive, then everything is kosher. Gonna be troubleshooting tomorrow until I figure it out or get so stoned I cant see anymore.
@@Craigc4x4 my issue ended up being related to the anti theft so i had to switch out my ignition, i broke my shift handle off the column trying to get it past reverse so i said fuck it and sent it getting a new ignition cylinder. But yes, definitely get so stoned you see jesus
I’ve got the same problem, but my brake pedal is not hard when I press it. I have to keep pumping it until it gets hard or I have to shut it off pump it when it gets really hard then turn the key on then I have to pump the brakes could be that my master cylinder is bad.
i am a little confused by this video.i had the same problem on my 99 but when i purchased a new solenoid i realized that it defaults to unlocked when not energized. so if its locking its working. the brake light swith is what turns off the power to unlock it. and the brake light switch wears out and wont travel far enought to disconnect power. in short if you disconnect battery and can shift out of park the solenoid is fine but the brake light switch is faulty.
