Excellent watercolor! At the drawing stage you spent a lot of time on the details of the distant shore on the right. You knew from the start that this area would make or break the painting, not the shed. With a few final touches of cadmium red, it did make it a masterpiece indeed!

Love your work. Looks so easy. Incredibly difficult to reproduce. I'm going to paint those skies until I get it. Small areas I can manage somewhat. But until I can get a handle on large swaths of sky and foliage real compositions are pointless. No sense fiddling with sheds and figures and then ruining the whole with a few big stokes. Thanks for instruction, and inspiration. I believe you paint the "right way".

I have learned so much from watching your videos. I do appreciate the info. I do wish the view was straight on. Hard to view some of the smaller work on right of scene. Especially on small crowded, busy areas. Loved how you simplified the wooded area on another video. I started out trying to make a perfect replica, picture. Slowly learning to be quicker at the process, loosening my technique. You have helped me see that a focus on the important parts doesn’t mean tensing up. We have artistic license and all have to decide what we want to focus on in our work. I am ordering your book from Amazon. Can’t wait to receive! Your are blessed by God with a great talent! Luckily he knows all about computers as editing the film to produce a coherent video is a complete mystery to me - I am not computer minded at all. Sorry I can’t help more. It’s actually quite simple as long as you are technically minded or know someone who is and is willing to help. There’s nothing special about my Chinese calligraphy brushes. I will say they are an acquired taste. And, like you, I have found some that are useless. I’m afraid there isn’t much text on the handles - my Mandarin isn’t very good. I bought three from a good art store many years ago. The rest were given to me by a student from Hong Kong. Sorry I can’t be more help. Most good art shops sell Chinese calligraphy brushes. They are not difficult to get. Try ones with different coloured hair to find the sort that suits you. I really enjoy these instructive sessions and have learned a lot from them. That said, the sheer size of the files, in this case 4.43GB, stands firmly in the way of downloading them to use as a learning reference. Standard HD, 1080p resolution is sufficient for most of us. This feels like a 4K video which I cannot use on my equipment and is, frankly, a waste of time and resources. Once I've received the file I will transcode it to a much smaller size. Cheers!
