    How does the Vertis compare with the Ripstick 88 in terms of versatility in a variety of conditions, carving etc? Are both good for advancing intermediates? As always, Ski Essentials reviews are the best!

      Thanks!
      The Vertis is actually pretty stiff from tip to tail, but because it has such a dramatic sidecut and a lack of taper, it's a fantastic turner and feels like a very traditional ski. The Ripstick feels way more sophisticated, blending the line between front side and all-mountain very effectively. Both are great for advancing intermediates, with the Ripstick having a bit more versatility and adventure built in.

      Just skied both this week. ripstick is softer and lighter, feels more like offpiste ski. good in long turn but I had a hard time having fast edge to edge changes and did not find a lot of energy. vertis is a better carver for me, handles all kind of turn shapes, very energetic and rewarding and happened to be very good in 30cm of fresh snow !! amazing allround abilities. Ripstick is gonna be better in woods and moguls but for my personnal preference Vertis is more enjoyable as a resort weapon.

      @@sepultubob Thanks for your reply. I've skied the Ripstick 88 for two seasons now andI think your thoughts about how performs is similar to my experience. I didn't get a chance to demo the Vertis this year. I recently found a 1/2 price deal on a new pair of 2024 Rossignol Experience 82 Ti skis with Look bindings. I've heard great things about them and I think they'll be much quicker edge to edge than my Ripsticks for resort skiing. I've got my fingers crossed that I'll love them next season!

    Hey how does Vertis compare to Captis?

    • @SkiEssentials
      @SkiEssentials  7 месяцев назад

      They have very similar constructions, but pretty different shapes and applications. The Captis, as a twin tip, is a lot more creative and playful--great in the park, bumps, and trees. The Vertis has a pretty short 15-meter turn radius and more camber, so it likes to carve short to medium radius turns on groomers. Since it has a flatter tail, it has a lot more rebound than the Captis, and we've found that a lot of skiers really like this energy.

    Hi, I've been testing the 170 cm vertis for 2 days and I' gonna buy it. love the allround abilities that it gives me. I'm 6.2 and I feel like I lack support in the shovel (in fresh powder but also when carving harder). do you think I will loose the quick manoeuverable energetic feel if I size up to 180 cm ? or should I stay at 175cm ? Thanks a lot !

    • @SkiEssentials
      @SkiEssentials  5 месяцев назад

      I'd stick to the 175. If you're having a great time on the 170, my fear is that the jump to 180 would squash some of that love. Probably best to meet in the middle with the 175.

      @@SkiEssentials yeah that's what I fear. thanks for you advise.

    Hi there - question about recommended ski length. I'm 6'2" / 198 lbs, advanced skills. Currently mainly on 177cm Atomic Redster G9 and looking to switch to the Vertis. Should I go for 180 oder 175? Thanks and merry christmas!

    • @SkiEssentials
      @SkiEssentials  9 месяцев назад +1

      I think that's a good option--the 180 seems like it fits your stats and application, and is a better comparison to the 177 Redster.

    Is there an alpine binding you would recommend. Is a pivot 15 95mm a fair option?

    • @SkiEssentials
      @SkiEssentials  7 месяцев назад

      I think it's on the wide side from a brake perspective, but if you don't mind a bit of a hang, it'll be fine. We normally pair these skis with either a Tyrolia Attack or a Marker Griffon.

      Thanks! Would hang be detrimental to performance or be more cosmetic?

    How does the '24 Vertis differ from the '23? Just the graphics or is there more to it?

    • @SkiEssentials
      @SkiEssentials  11 месяцев назад +1

      Nope, just a superficial change--nothing structural.

    How does it compare to the Blizzard Brahma 88?

    • @SkiEssentials
      @SkiEssentials  6 месяцев назад

      The Brahma is a much more stout and sturdy ski than the Vertis. If you're more aggressive and prefer longer carves at higher speeds, the Brahma is the way to go. The Vertis is very energetic and poppy, but it does have a speed limit.

    Do you recommend these or the dynastar m cross 82? I am intermediate/advanced skiing mainly on piste but would like something easily manoeuvrable on steep/tighter stuff

    • @joe-by1cd
      @joe-by1cd 9 месяцев назад

      Or any other recommendations you may have?

    • @SkiEssentials
      @SkiEssentials  9 месяцев назад

      You're in a good zone here, and the M-Cross is a great option for progressing and improving intermediates. Very smooth and stable and easy to turn. The Vertis has more pop and energy to it, but isn't quite as stable as the Dynastar.

    • @joe-by1cd
      @joe-by1cd 9 месяцев назад

      @@SkiEssentials what do you mean exactly mean by not as stable? Does the tail slip out so maybe not as good for carving?

    • @BlessedWingStudios
      @BlessedWingStudios 8 месяцев назад

      @@joe-by1cd i think they mean stability at speed here. Vertis is a lighter ski with a softer flex. So it wont be as damp and stable at higher speeds relative to the M-Cross

    • @joe-by1cd
      @joe-by1cd 8 месяцев назад

      @@BlessedWingStudios would you recommend the M cross then?

    Hi, I'm an advanced (185cms/90Kg) skier looking for an 'easier' and more relaxing ride than the Enforcer 93 that I've been on for several years. Probably now c.85% on-piste so happy to look at mid-80 width options. Have been tempted by the Nordica Steadfast 85 but now thinking about the Black Crows Vertis. Do you think there are any significant differences that I should take in to consideration? Or any other options that you recommend? Many thanks.

    • @SkiEssentials
      @SkiEssentials  Год назад +1

      They are pretty close skis in terms of application--mostly groomers, some adventure. The Vertis is a bit snappier and more energetic, especially when it comes to shorter skidded turns. The Steadfast makes cleaner, rounder turns, more like a pure carver. The Steadfast 85 was one of my favorite skis that I skied all year--check out the footage from the review--it paints a pretty accurate picture of what the ski is capable of. ruclips.net/video/BZ1wBGfVWuA/видео.html
