    Great video. Let be honest… it sucks being on night shift. You manage it as best you can, but at the end of the day… it is very difficult and you always have tired days.

    Thanks for that video.
    I personally try both. Before sleep and after sleep. I prefer after sleep. I could do it a day when i will work during the night or a day i will have my night off. And after a night shift i don’t feel to go to the gym.

    I do this. 7p-7a shift. at 9 i do pushups, 10 squats, 11 shoulder presses with a 35 lbs pig egg i made. repeat. 9, 12, 3, finish with pushups at 6 . I walk on a treadmill on my break. I do this to maintain my sugar levels at night because I am diabetic. on my days 4 days Off I lift. i work 8 on 2 off 2 on 2 off, repeat. I just do them right there at my nurse desk. I've done it so much everyone just thinks its normal for me now, lol. hell even some jump in on the exercises. thing is I was losing weight and now I've stalled at 260. got 50 more to lose. folks say I look like ive lost more weight but the scale isn't moving. I also maintained a steady 190 grams of protein, with about a 2500 cal daily intake. its rough though. I don't take any energy stuff, and caffeine makes me sleepy. so it doesn't work for me. I just tried to establish a routine and discipline instead of motivation because I am never motivated. working on sleep hygiene next since I don't get enough sleep.

    My average work week is 3pm to close I end up coming home at 11pm and being awake just chilling but then I can't sleep. And end up staying up til like 4am cause insomnia..and then I wake up at like 11 but don't get up till later. And the house needs cleaned so while my roommate sits around playing games on their day off I'm cleaning the whole place my 2 days off a week and feeling like I'm working nonstop

    I work nights and then work out when I get off. I shoo, socialize and do other things. I go to sleep in the afternoon at “ nap” time and sleep until shortly before my night shift. I can never figure out why people try to sleep when they get off work,

      I'm completely with you. Staying awake after your night shift gives you a reward to look forward to and tike to relax. When I used to have my free time before shift, it felt more like borrowed time because I was always counting the hours before shift

    I work 12am-12pm 7 days straight then I get 7 days off where I switch to days. I'm kind of a first responder for aircraft engineering and support the world. I wonder, when is a good time to exercise? I tried it all but working out before is hard. I don't get to see much sunlight if I do and waking up is hard as I don't usually have solid sleep where I can optimize the window of time I'm off from work.

      The struggle is real! I do 7 on 7 off - 8pm- 8am … I’m tired when I get off work but I try and workout right after my shift. I’ve found I sleep better bcz I’m literally exhausted. I’ve tried working out before work but I hate going to the gym when it’s crowded. I find if I go straight to bed after work I wake up around noon and can’t go back to sleep but since I didn’t sleep much I struggle to want to do anything but lay in bed and watch Netflix! Either way it’s a struggle - good luck

      The hardest part is getting started and the first few workouts. Go slow. Find what you like doing (and not what's most popular) and develop some new habits. Good luck!

    So its safe to do cardio exercise ? I thought its better for not doinh cardio so that we're not too exhausted when we work

    • @theothershift
      @theothershift  2 года назад +1

      Hi Ammaarza... Cardio exercise is a great way to wake the body and mind. If you were to complete 20-30 minutes each day, I think you'll find more energy output on night shift. Just don't do exercise to a point where it leads to exhaustion - start slowly and build.
