You know why this movie was awesome? That garden wasn't some magical enchanting place with big spectacles. It was a simple place. This story showed how ordinary nature can be magical and how love and nurture was important for anything to flourish.
This movie was not ordinary movie , when i watched it i didn't fell like watching movie , it was like dreaming a beautiful dream , what a masterpiece .
@@samanthak9771 ya, an over CGIed version which makes all the main adults villains, makes the garden magic when it is not and look like something out of a rainforest that is way longer than the garden is.
the 1993 version makes me cry, every time I watch it. (I had no idea it was done this long ago, TBH) And yeah, I came here RIGHT after watching the 2020 movie trailer. Will definitely be saving my money on that one!
Watching this movie was like reliving that dreamy, happy state of mind from childhood. An absolute charm of the 90's. I also read the book as a child and while the movie does exclude a lot of stuff from the book it still has that unforgettable enchantment to it.
Couldn’t have put it better myself, watching this I instantly feel the emotions I had as a child and it really is like a dream ☺️ This and a Little Princess were my absolute favourites
Rest in Peace Dame Maggie Smith! This will always be the first movie I think of with her. Favorite as a child and it’s so stunningly achingly beautiful.
Ah, this movie is so special to me. As a kid I'd watch it over and over with my sister. My mom and dad put it on a videotape for us. I haven't watched it for so long, but I remember all the details about the movie. The robin, the pet crow. After my mom passing away, the robin bird became a symbol for her pressence because it was her favorite bird. My dad even took in a reject crow and kept it as a pet, it became part of our family home and all our memories about it and about mom. I also used to think that my dad looked a lot like Lord Archibald in this movie.

I recently read the book and watched the film last night. A moving and emotionally striking representation of the classic! Truly a story with human morals and lessons we all can learn from and see the beauty not only in the world, the people around us yet also in ourselves. I have not seen the 2020 version but will definitely watch it soon, yet nothing compares to movies such as this were everything feels and is real, it touches the viewer watching the story unfold and imparts something special they may have lacked, doubted having inside them or found.
This movie, I watched it several times, as I was a kid. Such a beautiful movie... Brings back the childhood memories. And now, all of sudden, I hear the music from Edward scissor hands, at the end of the trailer. And I almost cried.

I came to this after watching the trailer because I had a vague memory of it, I definitely prefer this version, is more grounded and feels more magical in a sense that the magic is inside you, it has a touch of whimsy but at the same time it has some childlike innocence in, the remake seems too much of a fantasy to feel wholesome in a way.

Now I’ve just finished the audiobook and I’m bittersweetly teary eyed… I’m going to watch the movie again for the first time in 16+ years later today 🥺 edit: and the trailer features my favorite OST of all time by Danny Elfman 😩😩 it’s all too much for my heart!!
Just watched the 2020 version, it was different. The 1993 version captures everything. Interesting no one has mentioned the 1949 adaption which was equally charming and magical.
Don't know if Kate Maberly played in anything ells, but here she was an extortionary young actress. She played her role perfectly. So did the other two children. Seems like all three got the characters they were playing perfectly.
Back at the time when the trailers were bad but the films were so good. Seriously, they shouldn't have remade this film, the 1993 film is just perfect, the actors were so good.

I was the same age as Kate Maberly and man did I fall hard for her. I wrote her letters and everything. Denied.
Have you seen her now she's stunning
@@Kim-ss5bb Yes, I have. I agree. Those eyes. Not a fan of brown, but those doe eyes are really beautiful.
This movie was watched a total of 0 times when my mom bought it. I remember it was just there one day. And now I find out they did a remake. Had no idea what this movie was about. And why do I hear Edward scissor hands music being played? lol. This is like a fever dream.
I love this version!! So much better and charming and magic than the others! The cast... Dickon has so much angel... I've seen the others this is the best💜
I watched this on vhs back in the day at my grandmas, I remember enjoying it very much. Now I’ve just finished the audiobook and I’m bittersweetly teary eyed… I’m going to watch the movie again for the first time in 16+ years later today 🥺
edit: and the trailer features my favorite OST of all time by Danny Elfman 😩😩 it’s all too much for my heart!!
This, the little princess and black beauty were my fav movies growing up.
this is one of those movies you will remember in your whole life, and you will not experience something like it ever again
this movie is so magical, doesnt even feel like a real movie i watched as a kid
This movie will still be my favourite English movie ❤❤❤
i'm currently reading the book ,haven't watched it yet ; but this is wayyy better than the upcoming remake ....
I grew up with this movie, it was so special to me and my family :( where did all the time go..
You are correct, trailers were not done as good then as they are today. Some are cringe worthy.
