When Sara’s touching her dad’s face, he thinks she’s memorizing him by heart, but she already knows him by heart since he’s inside her heart. Besides, Sara makes a commitment to herself to bear anything like a soldier and part of it means having to feel all the feelings, like she does as she watches her dad drive away in his carriage and once it’s gone, she loses it, but he’ll be back again someday.
I hate the fact that this is lady is so evil that she know that was her father at the ending and still wanted to take advantage of the situation because he couldn’t remember her And have her sent away
now that i know this is the same man that played sir davos i cant help but hear him, but its also lovely to know that this fabulous actor has been in many things that have touched my life.
Miss my dad so much, so many things he hasn’t been able to physically see since he passed and the things he will continue to miss out on since he passed over seventeen years ago. My heart still aches for him, this film certainly touches on parts of that for me....😪🙇🏽🥀
I remember watching this as a child after my father left for war and this scene destroyed me because it reminded me of when he left. Thankfully he came back but it was heart wrenching and rewatching this scene still isn't any easier even fifteen years later.
It’s a miracle that she got her dad back and when I was thirteen, I really started to believe he was alive. Whenever I watch this movie, I never give-up on him.

Before her father left Sara, he asked her to be strong while she waited from him to return which was when her eyes teared up because ever since her mother passed away, Sara and her father have always been inseparable and he’s always been her best friend, but she knows he has no choice and she’s also determined not to assume the worst.
Heartwarming and very beautiful. A little sad as well. Thank you for sharing this video. Merry Christmas. You folks know exactly how to pull our heartstrings.
I love this scene. A man and his daughter together is so sweet, even if it is saying "Goodbye!" Poor Sara! Captain Crewe is the only family member she has. From Virginia Clark. 😢🎶🐘🐦🐝
Even though nobody can do anything about him going away, that doesn’t mean you have to give-up on his return. Besides, it’s never wrong to hope for something you really want.
A girl will probably encounter many boys and men out there and maybe she'll fall in love with one of them and have a boyfriend or a husband but none of them will ever compare to a father's unconditional love. A father is often a girl's very first male encounter after all. 😊💕
@@bexyevans777 Then why she is waiting, doesn't she be a good girl by not letting him wait for him?? All we have this beautiful world if there is something more better God will never let us suffer as you says he is our Father
SER DAVOS FROM GAME OF THRONES!!!😲😱 And to think… In that role, he also became a father-figure to a Princess. Though a low-born and illiterate, he was the one person who deeply cared for her and loved her. Later on, he was the only one out his entourage who could verbally empathize and get through to a toughened 10-yr old noble girl who held tight to principle and keeping her province safe, when he needed her aid in also keeping his safe. Asking for help from a little girl was NEVER beneath him, for he was taught to read by one (the aforementioned Princess). It’s like he was really meant for the “Girl-Dad” roles in movies and TV, and it definitely shows in his work with how engaging the young actress are with him on screen. FANTASTIC actor, and all the more Endearing!❤❤❤
I remember this movie the first time i watched it i was in 3 grade my teacher had us read the book first as a classroom then once we finished the book she had us watch the movie next and when i watch the movie with my classmates i cryed i really truly did i remember me crying because i put my head down on the desk so nobody would see me and I'm 26 years old now and i still cry to this day Everytime that i watch A little princess ❤❤😢😢 because they did a really good job on this movie 💯🎥
I think that her father’s a very nice guy and he only did the very best thing he could for her so she’d be safe from the war and while he’s away, she’ll be safe in America. Sara at first feels helpless since there’s really nothing that she can do about her father leaving, but there is one thing she can do which is not give-up on his return that’s something I do as well.
I never met my father, and therefore never missed him (can't miss what you never had) but when I used to watch this as a child sometimes I wondered if I missed out on something.
Say something positive about Miss Minchin. I’ll start. 1. She let Sarah keep the doll when Sarah changed roles in the schoolhouse 2. She was a brilliant harpist. 3. She stressed the importance of dinner etiquette to her students.
Ever since I was about thirteen, I always believed her dad was alive. When Sara was told he was dead, it seemed to her like she was quick in taking it in, but when she sees Ram a Dass and gets her belief in magic back, her hope is reborn. It’s like he encouraged her to keep hoping.
yeah. if i ever have kids i’m not gonna tell them stupid fake stuff like the magic doll thing. its pretty much just lying. if i have kids i’m not even gonna tell them that santa, the easter bunny, and the tooth fairy are real.
No it gave her something to cling to. Why cant children have imaginations and a way to cope with his departure and possible death? He knew what he was saying would give her comfort. She had the rest of her life to be disillusioned. Their whole take on life was enjoying the magic and imagination.
@@saklee1777 It's about kids having fun imaginations. It's not like they always believe those things. They usually start realizing the truth before age 8 these days and think nothing of it. It's harmless . The doll thing i can see cuz it's a way to cope with him being away. He may die.

Wow really.
I love it when there are films that emphasis that good fathers exist. While not all have to be super rich, but just being present is all one needs :)
