Another great video Longshot...!!! You are one of the guys responsible of me abandoning TV just to watch RUclips... Hahaha... Growling Sidewinder is also responsible... 😂
We may know it more as the Top Gun Maverick mission, but this was actually very similar to the very first deployment of the AGM-84E SLAM missile in 1991. An A-6E Intruder fired a pair of SLAMs at a hydroelectric plant targeting the power house and turbines because it was powering a plant producing yellow cake uranium in Iraq. An A-7 Corsair II guided the missiles, and they had to hit in sequence, with the first opening a hole, and the second going in to do damage.
"The F14 part" being if we used modern methods, Maverick never would have ended up grounded scavenging an F-14? The "a" model was also notorious for compressor stalls. Trying all that wild stuff in an "a" with a questionable maintenance history is wild even in the context of the movie.
Thank you!!! Si satisfying to see you do it RIGHT. Honestly found the movie infuriating to watch with the Star Wars 4 bs… so much I had to binge Eli21 and a few missions to wash the taste 😅 Great video, as always
Did everything you did longshot, However when my feed came in i selected the display but i could not move the seeker. Tried to cage/uncage it just coninuted todo its own thing.
The whole movie is unrealistic. This video shows we are able to hit the target from beyond visual range, making the canyon flight useless. The SU-57 is basically not being fielded by Russia. We can see them on satellite imagery and there are barely any in existence. They claim they'll have 50 by the end of 2024, but they have routinely shown they're unable to meet their already nonexistent quotas. The last analysis I saw seemed to indicate all the SU57's in existence were lined up on one field, and could be counted on one hand. Maybe they've gotten up to a couple dozen if we're being very, very generous. With, to my knowledge, zero confirmed combat deployments outside of Russian propaganda. "Maybe they're so stealth NATO can't find them" lolol yeah kid. Sure.
Also the SU-57s don't exist. I don't mean in the movie. I mean satellite imagery shows there's barely any produced, and they're definitely not being fielded.
I liked Top Gun 2, but the whole time I knew the mission profile was pointless, and just for teh purposes of the plot. But I still prefer the first movie for its better realism, better captured real life in the military.
I like single seat, can tell much about the Super Hornet because all we have is a mod. And the back seat in the mod is not functional like a Strike Eagle. I guess if we had in game a Super Hornet, I would like it better. Better thrust, more fuel...
@@LongShotChannel The I have to congratulate you on great use of the darn things. I have used them a little and I found them rather hard to hit exactly where I wanted to. I guess I'll stick to dumb bombs...
LS definitely one of your best yet. Great tutorial and video on the SLAMS. Then transitioning into a very cool BVR and how your attack neutralized their missile attacks. The best in DCS!
Super cool solution. The Walleye II would also work and is "fire and forget", though you would have to be much closer. Just wouldn't need buddy lasing as in the movie.
I am getting a suitable setup together to return to combat flying gaming. I quit that Russian game after a certain happenstance. Will eventually start my own DCS server. Kudos to LS, GS, 345, and the lot.

Whoa.. I didn't know you could call a TV feed off the slams that's something to play with tonight.

Nice work and great video! The Hornet is a awesome plane.
Thank you, It's a really fun jet to fly
We also want f14 part of mission.
Oh yeah... Good point, I'll see what I can do
Oh yeah

We includes me
And me...
And include the Su-57 as well...
Top tier cinematography, as always.
Thank you!
LS you have the best ad hoc missions on YT.
Thank you
LS, once again, great vid. We’d like to see cat shot and trap
next time.
Thank you, I'll see what I can do
@@LongShotChannel if you can’t, no one can. Greetings from Switzerland
Would have been cool if you would have the 2 fellons show up as well.
Another great video and good flying!!!!
Thank you very much!
Awesome missille and plane. great job
Thank you. Glad you liked it

Great video, as always
Probably better to use the super hornet rather than the legacy hornet but all in all epic vid sir
Longshot dropping chaff be like: bt bt brt bt. And then there is the enemy su: BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRT
how do u program the chaff to dispense that much in the 33?
@@yurackjung9321 i have no idea its prop not so effective but hella funny to see and hear
what's the song for the outro? it sounds like a banger
Is it really TG2 without the Super Bug though?
Shouldn't you have made the video with the Super Hornet since that's what all the pilots flew in the movie?
Can you explain the meaning of: Nails and 29 ILS please? I know it’s bandits, but what is the information it’s telling?
That It's a MiG29 or SU27, SU33
how much time you took to memorize controls
But.. Where are the Felons?

You need to HOLD the uncage while trying to slew the missile
@@LongShotChannel Just tired again. Still cant slew it.
@Teab8g I might miss-spoke, try the depress button
@@LongShotChannel That worked! Well done fella thank you.
@Teab8g glad I could help
Sweet
Better footage than Growling Sidewinder!
Wheres the unrealistic stuff?

So it’s not the flight through the canyon?
Where are the Su-57s
Do you see him flying through a canyon?

defeated two su-30 🤨🤔
Didn't the movie use the excuse that was havy jamming in the AO. So standoff munitions won't work.
Can't remember, but if they did, how the Tomahawks worked?
Nasty, nasty....little Hornet ! Make a hole ! hahaha
That was fun !
Glad to hear it, cheers!

Nice job my friend 👍
Longshot, which one do you like more? Legacy Hornet or Super Hornet? Single seater or two-seater variant? Can two-seaters used like the Strike Eagle?
I like single seat, can tell much about the Super Hornet because all we have is a mod. And the back seat in the mod is not functional like a Strike Eagle.
I guess if we had in game a Super Hornet, I would like it better. Better thrust, more fuel...
Nice work threading the needle! I guess you've used the SLAMs before xD
Actually, It's my 2nd time
