I love this trailer. At the start we see what we think is the greatest of cowards, closing the door in the face of a station being destroyed, even as a child calls out to him, then it pans out towards the scenes of desolation and death. An infirmary overrun, a child in a crib certainly dying even as the father is attacked and holds back the other from reaching it. A woman facing countless monsters holding only a torch to protect two children, a fight against an almost endless tide of monsters, a man knowing he is doomed but wanting to take as many of them as he can, a hopeless situation, but then we see reinforcements arriving, well trained and well armed, they will save the child from the beginning, and how about the coward? The greatest hero of them all, his life is done, but in his final act he will give everyone else a chance. Such is life in the Metro.

the trailer shows how this game represents different values than Fallout series
this game actually had an immersion factor and a gripping storyline
alexnickolaev metro is locked in our reality, hence the beginning of world war 3; 2013, fallout on the other hand, diverged at the end of world war 2, instead of the cold war happening, people started to use the atom as power! But. When the 21 century hit, atomic power is running low, wars start to happen, after the anchorage liberation, a conflict between the us and china, china resorted to nuclear conflict, the us responds, soon entire countries are launching nukes at each other, soon the world is wrecked. You know what happens next.
Fallout is still deep though, maybe more than Metro when you think about it
Deep? Its theme is simple. "War, war never changes." Kill simple raiders, side with factions you believe are right in their way of thinking.
Metro picks stuff that is rather deep. "We're in a new world, the laws of the old one no longer apply." to "Try to get a better understanding of things before you make a judgement."
The latter is important because the game is essentially trying to discourage the player from killing most enemies. It makes you wonder when you hear banter such as Communists talk about leaving the government with their families to Nazis thinking about their son's birthday party unaware that the player has the power to kill them or let them live.
Boris of the Cheeki Breeki you're forgetting the themes of humanity, propaganda, patriotism, even discrimination and environmental protection. All rather real elements present in Fallout. I'm not saying Metro doesn't have deep themes, it does, but Fallout is a much bigger game and therefore has the liberty to tackle subjects such as mercy killing 30 people trapped in immobilized pods. Not to mention an even greater choice pattern, where you can settle many problems without firing a shot.
And to think that this game and its trailers was made with the same amount of money AAA developers use in one cutscene.
And looks better than the vast majority of videogames today.

Most of AAA companies are all about money,money and money.
Money is good, but when you put it over your product thats wrong and greedy.
This game is well crafted. sadness, happiness, hope, love, despair, anger, revenge, forgiveness.. damn now im almost crying.

Did you ever play the harder difficulties? It makes the game a lot more immersive in the survival and scavenging department and the mutants are much harder than on normal.

It's cool because everything in the trailer is always there and it's just different angles. Even in the beginning you see the nosilias behind him

P.s.Сначала нам показуют предателя который бросает всю станцию на произвол судьбы, моменты бойни и кровопролития на станции - но под конец видно что приходит подкрепление и станцию спасут -и вновь нас перебрасуют к предателю который оказался героем он выстрелил все патроны и пожертвовал собой закрыл гермоворота чтобы спасти станцию, Я уверен он из СПАРТЫ.

also i love how each character is showing exactly what they'd do in that situation especially the parents, the father using the last of his strength to hold a Lurker away from his infant child even though he's getting attacked by another and the father about to commit suicide for failing to defend his child

This was so epic. At first i thought the guy was just saving himself. But it turns out he was sacrificing himself to try and save everyone. One of the greatest trailers i have ever seen.

It's a good trailer, because at first it looks like as if he is saving himself and leaving the child and the others to die, but then it shows the humanity behind the defence and his subsequent sacrifice

I love how it portrays fighting for survival but most of all fighting and trying your best to protect your loved ones and just whatever little way of life you have left in this dark dangerous depressing post apocalyptic world

I mean I think the game doesn't follow the same origin as the book, in the game artyoms mom dies during the bombs, and she basically throw him at the guy that raises him, it the book they are living underground when their station gets attacked by rats and his mom throws him at soldiers that help him escape

Great trailer loved how it seemed like the guy in the begining is abandoning then and close the door while at the end, after the full circle, revealing his sacrifice. Brilliant.

Well, the game never really stuck to the book other than the general story.
Zandaz well...that's right...but the rats were only coming from the deepest places of the metro itself, these creatures are also coming from "outside".

Zandaz If anything I'd say its more of a thing from the first Metro game 2033 when you pass through the station infested with rats where you help holding a last stand and carry that child on your back.
Something like that because there was both rats and the other monsters around there so yeah. Could be what happend before Artyom got there and the guy closing the door is why there are only beast from inside the tunnels who engage during the line of defence.

Man this is some deep stuff man. Makes you happy that you are on the top of the food chain and things aren't running around trying to eat you and your babies. This is way better than the dubstep montages that most games use for trailers BRAVO!

@@peoduction6068 sadly not... although i think it is a really good game and i enjoyed playing it, it just doesn't feel the same. I came to the realisation that i preffer the claustrophibic and creepy feeling from walking through the metrotunnels more than the exploration and freedom given in exodus. But exodus still is a game i hold dear to me.
@@ghostninja0105 I think the exact same thing. I love all 3 games, but I hope the next game is all set in a Metro + radioactive surface similar to Novosibirsk and Moscow. That's when the games are at their best. Caspian and Taiga aren't what I want from a Metro game, they're not bad don't get me wrong but the series clearly shines in levels like the Two Colonels DLC. The whole concept of living in the Metro and the hopelessness of it is just too fascinating to not make another game in that same setting.

I mean the levels arent bad and i enjoyed playing them but where the game shines is in the tension and atmosphere of the radio active and claustrophobic metro ereas. I do hope they will make another game but with the books being all used up i'm afraid it won't happen.

와 진짜연출 지렸다고 생각하는게 시작할때 남자눈을 클로즈업한다음에 서서히멀어지면서 시청자가 배경보다는 남자한테 집중하게 만듬 그러고는 문닫히는 장면과 거기에 울부짖는 아이를 보여주면서 저남자가 아이와 사람들을 격리시키는(버리는) 것처럼 보이게만듬 그리고 마지막 카메라한바퀴 돌고나서 다시 처음에 나왔던 남자를 보여주는데 그때는 뒤에있던 배경과 남자를 동시에보여주면서 사실은 남자가 더큰 피해를 막기위해 스스로 희생해서 문을닫는다는것을 보여줌 ㄷㄷㄷ

it represents the name of the game. from the start we see a man giving up on the station, closing the doors to save himself while everyone die, while darkness surrounds the station.all those defenseless people die in the train to the point of a man killing himself for he lost all hope, he is surrounded by darkness. but then back up arrives, and the man who we thought closing the station is saving it from more mutants. we see a last light in the darkness.
At the beginning of the trailer Mobius is an asshole for sealing the door behind him, leaving the station to its fate. At the end, Mobius is a badass for sealing the door behind him, saving the station from its fate. Amazing work Monakh

Some excellent games comes from you party of the world. Way more atmosphere and drama - like a breath of fresh air. I also really liked Cryostasis. It was a game that had actually emotion in it.
This trailer is beautiful. Definitely tells a story.
