Marek, good review but don't recognise some of the faults you highlight. I am on my second 2008, the first was the 1.6 diesel Feline version & now have the GT line 1.2 130 bhp pure tech. Both cars are excellent, the 1.6 diesel was frugal & reasonably refined while the 1.2 pure tech is a brilliant little unit. This is the first issue you raise about it not pulling away in 2nd gear I do not recognise. I pull out of my road every morning on an uphill incline in 2nd and it never fails to pull away with no problems at all. Also the stop start has never been a problem at, no vibrations or judders. It doesn't always kick in when I stop but generally it works fine. The earlier model car I had, the system would kick in if I coasted up to a stop out of gear. The new model doesn't work until I have actually come to a stop. The steering wheel isn't a problem for me, I have it at its highest point and I can see all the dials no problem. Totally agree about the cupholders, absolutely useless, with a usb stick in the port nothing will go in them. The newer model is a quieter car and wind noise is limited with road noise being greater. Another niggle is the sat nav, the maps look like they were drawn by a ten year old on a bad day, very poor quality. Another problem for me is the gear knob, absolutely fine in summer but grab hold of it in winter and my hand freezes to it!! Being made of metal gives it a quality feel and look but the designer obviously never tested it in winter! Always wear gloves! I love the 2008, better looking than both the Captur and Mokka, drives well, is comfortable and gear change is slick and precise. Overall highly recommended.
4:41 yep ! It happened to me in a 208, I forgot to disengage the first gear, I shut off the engine, release the clutch pedal and the car went forward. Fortunately the handbrake was firmly applied so I didn't hit the car parked in front
I've bought this one a couple of weeks ago. I liked 508 (used) much better, but my wife liked this one and it was a good deal. It's the allure, automatic, panoramic roof and all the extras. It has 25K km, 2019 first registration and full warranty and it cost me 16K EUR. It's a nice car. I don't drive it much though, as I'm using my bike every day, but my wife is happy with it. I'm 186cm and I don't have enough leg room in the back. But that's ok, because there are two Joie 360 GT baby seats in the back which fit great. My previous car was a Peugeot '06 207, so the 2008 seems like a luxury car compared to 207. Anyway, I would still prefer the 508 SW or 308 SW, but I don't want to drive that much anymore, so 2008 is just fine for city driving. I would never buy this car new, though (as almost every car). But for 16K EUR and still smelling like a new car, is great.
My first car was a 206 (2003) Apart from some classic problems. .. I loved it and kept it 16years😊 Replaced it with 2008 6 months ago. It was a discent upgrade😊 I live on a greek island... I drive a lot.. I need space for my kitesurf equipment... And I put my double b matress when 🏕 😊I'm in love with this car But yes.. I need special skills to place my coffee haha
Hi there i am Greek too and i am about to buy 2008 Active puretech 1.2 130HP . Should i go for it or not? What is your opinion about 2008? Does it have good accelerations without downshifting? What about torque is it good enough for a family of 5 and their stuff for holidays?
+Marek Drives We still don't have this new facelift here and I need this one 2008 with the famous 1.2 puretech like the 208 that we already own here. Aaand the 2008 that we have here is the 1.6 THP or 1.5 with that pretty but old face
My parents were going to buy the 2008 as a family car last year but the gear box was odd and the panoramic sun roof is hell here in the desert. We got a Seat Toledo (Skoda rapid) in stead. :)
Marek, I like yor reviews because you point things others cannot see. owning the previous version I believe that it is better especially with the 1.2 110. but I would prefer a 6 gear. if this car proves to be reliable it would a great car
so how is this puretech 1.2l engine feels like , and what recommendations would be in between 1.2 petrol or 1.6 diesel? for example driving from the UK to Spain with family ? thx
Thanks! I see the review with Honda Civic Tourer. But the Sedan is different. More spacious and it has independent rear suspension plus a better drag coefficient. So a better road behavior.
Whatever's cheaper to buy/run and/or has better service in your area. Sorry for generic-sounding reply, but as far as I'm concerned there is no perfect car in the B-crossover segment.
Hey Marek, do you have any thoughts on the Peugeot 3008 1.6 eHDi Active? It looks awesome, but the price here in the Philippines is similar to a mid-range Tucson with 2.0 CRDi already. Thanks, man!
+Diwa Galvez it's been ages since I've driven a 3008, so I have no clue how it stacks up against the current competition. I hope to get my hands on the new one, when it's released. Probably early next year.
Marek Drives Hello Marek, thanks for the good review. Your English sonds pretty perfect, too. The best part in the video for me was when you explained how to adjust the steering wheel in order to have a proper look on the dials. "put the steering wheel in the height of your chest like in any other car". German testers always criticize the position of the steering wheel. I think they do that deliberately to put down French cars in order for German cars to look better. Thank you Marek for the fair test. Greetings from Germany and merry Christmas.
The 308 1.2 turbo is the same at junctions you get bad turbo lag this car definitely needs a bi turbo . But don’t believe the statistics on these cars because on paper my 1.2 turbo 308 gt line does 0 to 60 in 10.5 seconds but in reality it actually does it in 8.5 seconds.and I have got 135 mph top speed
Hi Marek, Thank God you like them. My wife checked your review after I bought one today. All is well bless you! We have the very rare eHDI diesel automatic. Have you noticed when Peugeot automatics change up they DRAG the car back giving this almost (sea) sickening slight deceleration? Otherwise, love it! Cya
I'm not sure which version you have. I recall first generation C4 Picasso having an automatic gearbox, which worked best, when you lifted just before the shift happened. This smoothed things out.
Marek Drives Its the 1.4 Allure eHDI (2015) auto. Yes you are right, noticed today easing off smooths the change. In fact, using the ‘manual’ is even smoother snd more fun.
Why do you car critics make so much out of bottle or cup holders. I have been driving for 50 yrs don't think I have ever looked at a car because it has a bottle holder. ..
@@peterrayner3707 Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. There is nothing crass about my comment. I'm just stating my opinion of the car and the review(er).
We had this car for around seven months now absolutely love it. From looks, comfort, handling & safety. Really so impressed with it!
I've had a black 2008 GT Line for about the same time and I love it. I think it looks much better than the hugely expensive new shape model.
Does yours have sat nav?

Great stuff as always Marek.
The hard work you put into these reviews really does make them a cut above the rest!
This is a fair review. Thank you. Cheers from France.
Brazil needs this new version of the 2008, perfect car
Which version do you have over there? A different engine or pre-facelfit?

the peugeot standout in terms of design n looks.. but some others are c segment like asx
Marek, another honest review. Are you still uploading the DS4 crossback review? Looking forward for more reviews from you!!
It's in the pipeline.
Hi Marek, which vehicle would you recommend for long motorway journeys? (800Km once a month). Thanks for your reviews!
BMW 7 Series seems like a good choice ;)
Out of these here? I'd go with the Mazda, because it has the biggest engine displacement.
Macavellic Go for the beautiful and elegant 508. It's the best in its class👍
For all that suv that you mentioned in the video what's the best gasoline engine?
Probably Mazda.
+Marek Drives I was "afraid" that you would answer that... precisely the only one that is not available with gasoline engine in my country :D

the hrv costs about the same as the 2008 in my country. which one is the better car?
I'd go with HRV.
InnerFire6213 The HRV costs the same? Where the fuck do you live? I'm in the UK and the 2008 is miles cheaper.
hello, could anyone let me know what shade is the brightest white? thanks
Hello!
It is possible a test with Honda Civic Sedan Elegance model?
Thanks.
It's a Civic. But sedan.

Thanks!

George V Fortunately (for me) Honda Poland doesn't have a sedan Civic on the press fleet. Yay!
Mr. Marek, this 2008 or the Honda hrv? in my country they cost about the same.
Vitara.
New 3008 would be very interesting for review. is there any in pipeline?
Soon.
1.2 , 82CV = 8 litres/100Kms????
If you wanna move in 2nd gear and car does not go, it's not car's problem. It is you the problem
yeah that means he cant drive

what is tyour recommendation between Peugeot 2008 1.6 and Tivoli (high spec)?

Pay attention to 7:13. They're sucking at putting right materials with correct workmanship. I have 208.
First thing I thought seeing the title - you are reviewing some old Peugeot (2008). What the hell.
Unfortunate model name :)
Lol, for that kind of money (21600-23000) you can get Nissan Qashqai in Accenta trim in Serbia.
Very nice car

Heated mirrors, heated front screen and 4wd.
It has so many annoying things, but I still like it.
2008 or quasqai
Different segments.
C’est pas un porte bouteille mais un porte gobelet. Le porte bouteille est dans la portière.
Pardonez-moi. Je n'ai pas lu les instructions :)
Great review Marek. Shame about the 2008 build quality.
yeap same oppinion on opel mokka :)
hahaha, Mareks "not impressed at Peugeots update" face...
Why do you car critics make so much out of bottle or cup holders. I have been driving for 50 yrs don't think I have ever looked at a car because it has a bottle holder. ..
In which case you either don't hydrate enough, or your bottle is somewhere, where it shouldn't be :)
Those last 20 seconds are the reason why the whole of the rest of the video was unnecessary to make.
This car is completely pointless, great review though.
hash but right...
:)
ugly pointless etc. but top 10 sale in Europe and top 5 in France
comedy isn't your thing
Quite ugly car. Nice review. :)
