    At that time, women use to not be doctors even in the first world countries... The maximum they'd go is become nurses... Miss Faria was way ahead from the rest of the world and very early on made it clear that beauty is not confined just to the world of glamour. Kudos!

      @@gayathrikumandur only 7% of medical students in United States were female in 1960...it took 25 more years for the number to rise to 50%...even it is shown in fiction how women were not taken seriously in medical profession around that time... Fiction depicting the old times. Not just such profession but even in politics women are chosen in India before countries like usa... Try to read the context and fact check yourself first. Women doctors were NOT common ANYWHERE in the world at that time. Even in a country like America,women were not encouraged in the medical profession unless there was a dire need. That year or the following year another Indian girl from Guyana was placed 2nd. runner up, her name was SHAKIRA BAKSH now Mrs. SHAKIRA CAINE. I believe that she & Reita became friends.
