I have given up on Walmart long ago. When it was 24 hours still, I pulled to a deserted area away from open stores. I then went in and spent about $250 in supplies for my small motorhome. As I made my bed with new sheets and blankets I just purchased and was heating up dinner I bought at Walmart, an officer showed up stating the manager complained. I returned all merch I hadn’t opened and drove to the next town and bought it back there at a different Walmart. In the morning I was told not to stay there by staff as well. I gave up on parking lot overnights after that.

Yep. They used to be friendly to RVs and van dwellers but are no longer so. Too many people were "permanently" living there with some dying in their parking lots. My area alone saw about 4-5 deaths with some sitting there dead for 3 or more months before being discovered.

It's been a few years since I tried to stay at a Walmart. I asked permission and she asked what kind of vehicle I had and I said a van. I had a minivan. I don't know what would have been considered not ok. We don't have them here but in AZ they have Winco grocery stores that are 24 hours. I'm thinking that might be a possibility for one night. The days of getting a pass because I'm an old lady are gone. I find that the truck stops are mostly nice as long as you don't take up space for a trucker. I don't say I need to sleep for the night. I just say I'm really tired and need to sleep for awhile before I drive. I'm thinking, just like in sales, it might be good to make a more personal connection with the person you will be asking. I worked evenings and nights for years so showing a little empathy for that sometimes helps.

My experience has been that the answer is generally, "No," so I stealth camp. I generally shop there to offset the cost of sleeping there for free.

Great comment. Large truck stops have always worked well for me. Especially if there are others (the overnight vehicles usually collect in a group), who are already there. Generally after 10pm when only one or two employees are left. I'd guess that they don't have time, and/or really don't want to deal with you.

Hopefully, that Walmart didn't bother you. I'll check the next video to know for sure, LOL!

I am. I was living in the new van for the previous week testing out it's capabilities across the State of Florida.
