Dom, you don't have to explain yourself to anyone.

Your garden looks amazing. I also prune constantly. I'm growing food not leaves. This year has been our best yield so far.

I appreciate this because I'm semi new to the tomato growing. I like to understand & especially see what works for all ppl. It gives me experimenting ideas & I learn.

I’m with you - pruning lower leaves and keeping main stem. I allow 1-2 off shoot stems to grow off the main stem up at the top. That’s it. There are many schools of thought on tomato pruning. People need to do what they feel is best for their own garden, per their own experiences, instead of thinking one-size-fits-all in the world.

There's never one way fits all. Random videos like this is why people sho be so set in what works. Bed angle and planting direction is something 98% of videos don't even discuss. Great video deserves 2.4 k's worth of thumbs up!!!!

Hi Dom I actually thought what you were doing was a great idea! I am just starting my tomatoes on a cattle panel with peas on it right now! I pruned my tomatoes so that they have a good airflow with the pea foliage as it will be dying back when the tomatoes start sending out more growth! I hope I can come close to the amount of harvest you have gotten this year! I have a few big trees that keep the tomatoes from getting too much sun but shade cloth is an excellent option! I know that there is also a white Agribon cloth for row cover to extend season! I think it works for frost or shade as it allows different amounts of sunlight in according to the thickness! Great video thanks for the info! Peace and blessings 🤗

There are many styles to grow and prune tomatoes. You really have to experiment not only for what works in your area but for what method works best for you. Experimentation is one of the best parts of gardening and a great way for kiddos to learn. Keep doing what you are doing and am looking forward to see a video of the harvest.

This is why I love watching Asian youtubers. They keep things simple than most American gardeners. To much drama in the garden to ME! like someone mentioned, if it doesn't work, you know not to do that again.I glean and take away what works for my garden. ❤

Hey Dom, I aggresively prune my tomatoes as well, I plant intensly, I have one to two main stems. I prune branches 8 inches to one foot above the soil. I prune all suckeres. As the season progresses, I remove all stems below the fruits. This plan is what I use for indeterminate tomatoes. With determinates, leave them alone as long as branches and leaves are not too close to the soil.

James Prigioni prunes his tomatoes this way as well and has a kazillion tomatoes. This isn't your first rodeo and you're doing what works for you. We all have to do our own research with what works in our zone, with our soil and variety types. You have had the most tomatoes you've ever had!

I didn't see you asking for opinions. It's your garden. Ignore the negative comments and do what you want with your garden. If it works, it works. If it doesn't, do something different next time. I was just going to say....."you don't have to explain yourself." Now I won't say it.

When I do something and find it wasn’t a good idea… I just do something different the next time. I always enjoy watching your channel. I know how much time goes into gardening and to make a video while working would definitely be a challenge for me. Thank you for taking Us along. 😊
