  • The EV with NINE seats!
Can you name an all-electric nine-seater other than the Citroen eSpacetourer?
It wasn't all that long ago that there were only handful of decent electric cars to choose from, and even today, there are only a handful of vehicles that can seat up to nine people. So, can you imagine a car that could do both? Well, imagine no more, as that car is here in the form of the new Citroen eSpacetourer.
It may look for all the world like a van with windows, and it kind of is, but it also shares its platform with many of the Stellantis Group's passenger cars such as the Citroen eC4 and Peugeot e-2008. Besides, those boxy dimensions are what gives it such generous space for eight passengers, or in the case of the Business Edition version we have here, nine.
In terms of its EV credentials, it has a shorter-than-average electric range of 136 miles, and the performance is no great shakes, either, with a 0-62mph time of 13.1 seconds and a top speed of 81mph. Then again, none of that is hugely surprising given that it weighs more than three tonnes and is about as aerodynamic as Buckingham Palace.
In this CarGurus UK video review, Vicky Parrott takes a detailed look at exactly how practical this electric people-mover is, and also evaluates its quality, technology, what it's like to drive and what kind of value for money it gives you.

I own a diesel partner teepee and love the practically but as an only vehicle the e range is poor on the new model; if it could do 200 miles i would consider it. Great review

I got one last week in the medium length to replace my Grand C4 SpaceTourer and it’s so much more practical. It also gets 8 seats rather than 9

I’m looking at these as I’ve also got a C4 spacetourer. But I have 4 children now so need something bigger.

You know what... as wonderfully designed and equipped the likes of the 7 seat Mercedes EBQ and Tesla Model X are, most UK buyers just want exactly this - good honest value-for-money...!
That's why the likes of the MG EV ranges are so popular with private buyers.
    Great review... 👍

Quality, no nonsense review: Not my kind of vehicle, but a good watch nonetheless. Nice one!

Front row 3 seats (or even a 3rd row) is what the VW I.D Buzz is lacking considerably on.

Another great review Vicky. This looks very hard to beat for practicality as long as you don't drink coffee. As a second or school run for a heard of kids or for more local duties it looks ideal. It would not work for me as a single car due to the limited range for the driving that I do. I would consider it as a second car if I had somewhere to park it given the increasingly creative (read inconsiderate) 'parking' practices in my home local area.

It's not a van, it's a bus. Vans really don't have to be so bland. There are a few examples of decent looking ones, but a truly beautiful one can probably only be found in the new VW I.D. Buzz. Companies need to apply their design genius to these clever people movers if they ever hope to put a dent in SUV sales. We all want a Ferrari Pista but you can't really haul the kiddies to the movies in that... unless you do it one at a time. Loved the review, as always, the team at CG never fails. Vicky is still one of my favorite journalist/hosts on RUclips!

I drive a Peugeot expert (looks like the same van) every day for work. The wheel isn't in front of the drivers seat and after a while it really aggravates your back. Buyer beware.

We've got one of these at work, we drive it in normal mode alongside a Lightfoot drivers aid and it manages a massive 60-80 miles between charges sometimes less. 1.1 - 1.7mls/ kWh. It's dreadful, don't buy one
