What is our AUW now? 20 min (w/o landing gear) on a 4s 6000mah with Sunnysky v2216 spinning 10 inch props seems pretty good to me. The 20 min are hoover time right? Can you do a timelapse of hoovering a whole battery long and another one while flying around and talk about how much you charged afterwards? Would be awesome of you cause I am currently into building my own frame and can't find a decent setup. Keep these good videos coming!
Looks good, what size LiPo are you using? With Arducopter 3.3 you can connect the gear to the Pixhawk and have it automatically deploy during RTH etc...
As usual ANOTHER informative vid Me being devils advocate . Does it affect your flight time (more weight less time) And I did notice it was wallowing about on a mid stick is it because to much weight underside?? Looks EXTREMELY GOOD THOUGH. BY THE WAY I a while ago I had a problem with my 450 because it wouldn't take off the props span at amazingly fast revs and when I turned the throttle off I got over run .IT WAS GHE THE NEW PROPS normally use 1145.changed to 1147 found out the pitch is ok for speed but crap for lift.I now use 1138 PERFECT. NOT TO GOOD FOR SPEED BUT GREAT FOR LIFT TRY em you might be surprised Look forward to your next vid Brian London
+brian forward without all of this gear using a 6000mah 4s we are talking 20 min flight times. with the gear about 13-15 mins so still very nice for what I will be doing with it. theres no wallowing on mid stick this was flown in stability mode not alt hold or loiter. it was 15mph winds last night. flys really nice 11 inch props could burn these motors lifting this weight the 10 inch are ample. even with all this gear it hovers at 40 percent throttle.
Cool. My mistake I couldn't see any movement in the veg and assumed it was slightly unstable due to the underbelly weight. Very respectable flight times. Unlike some of the doughnuts that say 4 Hours on a 2220 5c lipo. Always look forward to your vids Brian
+brian forward as alex says 2216 11 inch is pushing it with this weight. its going to be about 2kg fully loaded. cheers. a lot of the wobble is also me flying it through the camera lens to make sure its in shot lol. no camera man unfortunately
its twitchy because I'm flying it though the cameras viewfinder to keep it in shot. that and its Gail force winds. the garden is shielded at the front and back but in the middle the winds are crazy. pids are nice on this one. I won't be changing
Hi Andy, I really like your videos. I'm building another quad 450 like you have here and decided, like you, not to cheap out this time around. So I went with the Pixhawk F.C. among other things. One question, maybe I missed the answer somewhere along the way, but which battery provided longer flight times, the 4000 or 6000 mah ?
That quad look very menacing lol. I like it.
+tittyfuckn yes me too!
Wow Andy, that is a super nice touch to an already cool aircraft.
thanks Michael hopefully make it even more cooler over the coming weeks
More cooler indeed!

this flight with battery is 1700 by the time gimbal is added its going to be 2kg. I'll be doing all sorts with this setup so don't worry :-)

Ment to ask are your motors sunnysky 2212

Should i use rectracter and gimbal controller in 6 channel receiver??
looks very twitchy you will need to adjust your pid for sure

6000 will give longer flight time but will be less nimble
Get it on lithium ion batterys mate for long flight times. Good work.
+Lou Fowler thanks yes I need to look into different battery options
what size of a battery are u using?
+QuadcopterAnalyze 6000mah 4s
Will you sell this drone?
I remember this thing when it was just a babe xD
Pleas any watch out for idoits who don't like quads
Andy
+DIED12 The RUclips Gamer yes its coming along now :)
And have guns
I need me a set of those!
how much was it all
A lot of dead weight with the landing gear.
correct!
