It is KYIV not Kiev- that is the russian name. NO! Ukrainian culture is far older & is the SOURCE OF ALL "russian" CLUTURE. So russian culture is similar to that of Ukraine, NOT VICE-VERSA! In the 12th century, Kyiv was the most important city in Europe. Moscow "russia" did not even exist then & did not even develop until the 17th century. It NEVER DEVELOPED ITS OWN CULTURE but took on UKRAINIAN CULTURE. So-called "russian" culture is indeed UKRAINIAN CULTURE.
