After getting married 2 years ago I told my husband I wanted to do the bulk of all the cooking because I wanted to learn. Timing was what I struggled most with at the beginning! There have also been a few times where I’ve had to throw out whole meals because they just didn’t turn out well! Give yourself grace, it’ll get easier!

I look back and can see so much progress! Put into he work and you will reap the benefits. Plus it will serve your family for years to come.

I'm not gonna lie, I sucked at waking up early, but after I became Muslim, I wake between 5-6:30 every day. I have to do it for the dawn prayer. We also have to wash up before we pray. So I wake up, brush my teeth, wash up, get dressed, and pray. During prayer it's like a light exercise and meditation at the same time. Very relaxing. Totally wakes me up no matter how tired I am when I initially wake up.
Your videos have been helping me get out of depression and finding my purpose..so thank you for showing that im not alone in finding a routine in my 20s/ changing my life around!

Haley get a rice cooker! It's so easy, all you have to do is put the water and rice in it and mix it up. Then you fluff the rice once before its done. It times everything for you and even goes to a warm cycle so you don't have to worry about it while you cook the other stuffs. :)
I recommend making peanut sauce!! It’s really simple, just stir peanut butter, soy sauce & water together and it’s tastes delicious with tofu, veggies and rice 👍

I've been super lazy about our home life for a long time, have tried various routines and habits and nothing has stuck. You've helped me so much! Meal prepping casseroles for lunch has been the biggest game changer for being productive. Not having to pause the day to go find something and then cook it then clean up takes off so stress from my mind I didn't even know was there
I really recommend trying out a tiered electric steamer for cooking, it was a life saver for me when I was at uni!! You can cook your vegetables and even rice in it by putting each thing in the different tiers (longest to shortest to cook going from bottom to top) and adding water to the bottom, then just set the timer and leave it while you get on with cooking your main like your meat or tofu etc
Routines are really important for me personally because I guess they give me a sense of safety and calm throughout my every day life and especially during hard times. However, I know how difficult it can be to build a routine and stick to it.. been there too. You can do this Haley! Also, the way Ryan was so supportive of your cooking made me smile so much 🥺
little tip: put your tofu in a towel and put smth heavy on it for 10-15min to get rid of the water -> the tofu will be crispier when you cooked it and in my opinion it tastes better

I would highly recommend the webstaurant store for some really affordable quality kitchen items. Things as simple as a good chefs knife, measuring cups, and a cutting board can make all the difference. When I got married 3 years ago I had no idea how much I would enjoy and love cooking, you will definitely be there before you know it!

My new realistic routine for my weekdays: Get Up Shower Eat Breakfast and Coffee with roommate Do Hair and Makeup Go to class Plan and Journal after class (cause i always have so many thoughts during class that i can't get out) Get Lunch (cook or pickup or have smth from fridge) Class Make dinner (sometimes with roommate) Watch Netflix for a bit Readings for Class and Homework Bedtime
My daily habits are: Get outside, move, hydrate, eat, sleep, connect (with people I care about) For me that translates into: At least 20 minutes of direct sunglight 45 minutes of movement of choice Drink 2L of water in a day, but preferably drink at least every 30 minutes Eat: Consume protein and a variety of fruits & veggies, to fuel your body with the nutrients it needs to keep you strong & healthy) Sleep 8 hours per night Connect: Socialise with someone I care about I've noticed that if I do these things everything else becomes so much easier. For the rice for every one cup of rice do two cups of water cover it up you have to watch it because it will boil over you don’t want it on high I start it on high till it starts to boil and then put it on simmer for 20 mins or until it stops bubbling and when you look in all you see is rice no water super easy. Or just get a rice cooker those things are a god send

It can mean you're changing (as people do), maybe you crave for something new in ur life or ur tired or something just isnt working out, and thats all normallll. Imagine if ur everyday was the damn same ??? THATS SO BORINGG, unless it makes u happy and ur good w it. Imo u just need to find something that works again and keep going, like haley does here. Unless it's begining to trouble u or it traps you into the abis then i see nothing wrong with a little stumble :) and even then, a stumble looks and feels different for everyone.
I used to HATE eggs and had to eat it with ketchup, too. But I found a mini recipe that makes scrambled eggs taste so much better: Sauté onions, mushrooms, spinach, bell peppers, and jalapeños. (Or substitute your favorite veggies.) Sprinkle garlic powder, paprika, and a little salt. Then cook your eggs over the veggies. Scramble it all together. Salt and pepper to taste. This got me to start enjoying eggs, and I also started eating mushrooms for the first time since it’s all blended in
