This episode screams 4th wall breaking 😂😂😂😂. For once, we get a date that's NOT a prank. No antagonists and more of the reason behind the date childhood story. I like it. The beautiful art work captures the whole story and the thumbnail looked so brand new like I've seen this similar scenario. Mai looks so beautiful with her long hair and her cute little bow like some other hentai character she reminds me of.Their lines truly made my day. The blur backgrounds make it so visual novel like. Some scenes in there captures my eye especially the ending after the childhood talk. The way the mc grabs his mouth like a girl had me dying off laughter when the fmc gets him against the window during class.
Mai is adorable, and Soya being defensive since he didn't recognize her makes sense.

Also, for some reason, some novels make a fake-NTR to break both the friendship and the minds of both childhood friends, which leads to downwards spirals of regret and self-loathing, besides the sickening feeling from empathizing with the characters who had their story together shattered.
I often think of the "most beautiful girl in school" is their opinion / perspective because they usually have a crush on them.

More often then not i find that kind of character on another nana kuma channel and manga bear. Those are the channels where they for the most part use the same male and female VA for every story. The guys might occasionally ask why the girl is into them and say that its because they are handsome. And then the girl will say "now way". Darn i cant get the channel name right atm

Soya was understandably cautious, but it was really sweet that it all ended up sweet with how he truly reunited with Mai and they could really starting dating and Mai can now unleash 7 years of pent up feelings of love onto him. Dude is in for a world of love now.

Soya had every reason to be cautious. If some random girl I haven’t talked to nor meet before suddenly asks me out, I would be very suspicious and think the confession is a dare. It turns out the person who confessed to Soya was Mai the girl he saved in elementary school 7 years ago and since then she has been in love with him. Her appearance did change a lot so it makes sense that Soya didn’t recognize her but what I am wondering is how every time the FMC always remembers the boy from her childhood and the guy always forgets. I think the answer is at 14:14. I guess Soya didn’t really changed that much compared to Mai which is why she was able to recognize him immediately. Well I’m glad they finally reunited and got together
