Sitting watching this video literally brings tears to my eyes, I hate the fact you feel so so awful about the way you look. I have known you since we were kids at school and I always always looked way past your disfigurement when I look at you I see someone who is handsome, who takes care of there appearance, who wears the coolest t shirts I may add lol. You are one of the most genuine, loving, kind, caring funniest person I know, you have got a heart of gold, you have the best personality which is way more than how someone looks. your Mum dad and sisters absolutely idolise you as you do them!! If someone else felt like shit you would be the first one to pick them up and make them feel good about themselves. I’m the same with the whole Instagram thing, I posts pics, I like doing my hair and makeup etc but that doesn’t mean to say that I’m absolutely full off myself even if it seems that way to others, I posts my posts for me to make me feel good. And everyone shouldn’t feel bad doing the same. And see the guy on the train what a prick 🤬🤬 if I’m ever shopping or down the street or wherever I may be and I see someone with a disfigurement or someone who is severely disabled I just walk past them and don’t even look as if there’s was absolutely nothing wrong with them because I would never want someone to feel I was staring because of the way they are it’s so rude when people stare or whisper or make a comment. Keep being you Atholl, and keep posting your posts and videos etc because you are a inspiration and you may help others 😘😘💙💙

Very courageous of you to come out with this much honesty. About that 4/10, you might have heard this before but... You know what I believe? That no matter how disfigured, how different, you look, people who love who the most will actually honestly see you as beautiful. I know for a fact, I myself, only felt how beautiful or handsome (physically and not physically) a person is until I loved them truly. And even if you don't think you're beautiful, someone, many people do and will love you, and will see you as good looking and they will love you and your face and all of you. And yes, you might not feel the same way, but really, who's looking at you more, you, or those you love?

I believe confidence is everything. Unfortunately we cannot change or control other people’s harsh words. These sorts of humans exist and the only thing to do is to stand tall, take the power back and show them that you’re just as human and just as valid as any other person out there. I just remember you being this talkative, friendly wee laddie but oh how you made me laugh with just the way you were and The wee stories you’d tell or how you’d explain things. Your sisters always by your side looking out for you. Your mum and dad are obviously very proud of the thoughtful kind caring young man you are now but even more so you’ve never let anything hold you back. Yes you’ve had negative moments and tbh we all have them but you seem to take they moments and take something from them, in order not only to help your self, but to also help other people. Well I think you're gorgeous - your facial disfigurement does not detract from that. You have beautiful blue eyes and amazing dark brows. Anyway I read your interview in The Metro and I like the way you trained yourself not to focus on appearance and I have body dysmorphia so I can relate to how you felt and wanting to hide.
I'm disfigured by a skin condition and got to deal with it. I lived through hell psychologically, but I decided to construct my mind to be able to be ok in my life, but I realise there is few support regarding this matter. Everybody is interested in "depression", but no one is interested in what its like to deal with this society, while disfigured. You got to create your own rules, your own inside realm. And if you fall into the trap of comparing yourself with your peers, you're dead cause most of them got "convential" physics, and its the best way to lose your confidence. But no one taught me that, and I had to learn it all, by myself
@@AthollMills Hope you're alright. You look ok. With your face, people may be surprised at the beginning, but once they know you, they get used to it. But its not the case for everybody, some people cant talk with their families...anyway man do you have projects in life?
Thank you so much! No it’s not the same condition she has a condition called arteriovenous malformation which is to do with your arteries and veins having an abnormal connection! I have a condition called cystic hygroma which causes cysts to form where you have lymph nodes ❤️
first of, serious respect for talking about this so honest and openly second, although i can't begin to relate on the same level, i think it's incredibly admirable how far you've come in being more confident coz i also linger on little things that people have said about how i look for years, but i am no where close to accepting those flaws in myself (even though they are ridiculously minor) and finally, for what it's worth, i think you look damn good 😉

I am stunned that someone would stand up on a train and point at you. You should have stood for yourself, and told him, yes I am physcially disfigured, but you are mentally disfigured and you should be ashamed.
