You're really evolving like crazy, muscially. I don't really like your current drum setup compared to some previous ones, but it certainly fits the song beautifully. Super clean and powerful playing, and a really funny ending of the video (I think I might steal that idea some day).

Mensch Meier ...i think her style is very unique. she puts every vid fresh ideas out. btw she is playing music instead of making artistry in solo playing. thats much more enjoyable for me. her playing is very relaxed groovin' very musical and top notch technically. i don' t know much other male drummers out here with that style and pocket. ...artistry drummers yes.
That groove with the doubles on the hi hat is absolutely genius and is something I have been trying to learn. But she does it so clean and articulately. She is slowly becoming one of my fav Meinl and Tama artists.
It is nice to listen to a top notch drummer playing complex rhythms that is music and doesn't sound like exercising. Anika - your approach is so unique, fresh, and wonderful. And I am amazed what you can do with a single bass drum pedal. I am always interested in what you will come up with next. I can only say you are one badass drummer! And very cool at the end where almost everyone involved in this project took a turn at your drum kit.

Anika Nilles is a true drumming inspiration and there's something so appealing about this Pikalar album. I think she's the image of the true modern drummer.

The drumming is always amazing and musical, but this video was the most entertaining of her's in my opinion. I love the smiles and the confidence. Anika is killin' it!
Yeah I liked her with mapex too. Her black panther kit sounded phenomenal and a lil better than this one here imo. However she still sounds great no matter which drums she plays. Maybe she will get a star kit soon though from Tama and then we see. This wasn't the star here right?
Are you sure? Have you ever played a Mapex Black Panther Kit? Because I have personally owned Tama, Yamaha, Pearl, Slingerland, Ludwig and Remo drumkits over the past 30 years. The Mapex have been more consistent in sound and tuning than all of the kits I've owned.
When a company like Tama offers an endorsement it is something one does not turn away from. Mike Portnoy did the same thing. He started with Tama (not endorsed), but changed to Mapex (endorsed), but came back to Tama (endorsed).
Blegh, Mapex pedals are the worst. If Tama endorses you, you latch onto Iron Cobra's/Speed Cobra's for life. You'd be a fool to choose any Mapex pedal over a Speed Cobra.

Anika never ceases to blow my mind. I've no doubt she'd be a perfect fit as the touring drummer for Toto. Her music reminds me so much of their progressive material.
It says something about a drummer when she even knows what heads work for a song and what dont and with this it couldnt have been better choiced out from the cymbals to the drum heads and technique throughout it just feels and sounds "RIGHT" always an inspiration and this video testifies as to why Anika is inspiring to watch play
Absolutely incredible. Anika, you're a monster talent. The composition, the drumming, so damned good. Hands down my favorite modern drummer. The fill at 2:25, is ridiculous.
I enjoy how obvious it is that that you can be an extremely technical drummer if you want to be. Instead you just play/write what sounds good in the moment.
