I’m calling it right now that the white haired girl (the one with Tamuki idk if she has a name yet) Is not actually dead. They already seem to be putting a LOT of emphasis on her for some reason.

Supposedly this game doesn't feature students killings their allies.. But what if... They are? And this girl is the main proof... So surei goes around and collects this highschoolers, give them powers and reclutes them into his academy... The last defense academy... But.. Why only these ones?.. Because we know that the girl is alive... How do we know this?. In one or the trailers there's an action RPG scene in front of the same bridge seen in the beginning cinematic... The girl is on the floor and this seems to be the tutorial on how use the powers... But the girl has a health bar, she haves 3HP.. She is alive... But why only see surei take the protagonist to his academy, why? Why not take her as well? Give her powers and do it... But what if he did? We always had the funny cartoon character being an secondary filler character.. Even monokuma is tossed aside to let junko and tsumugi take the spotlight... But what if.. This time.. The mascot character, is actually the main villain.. And no one else?.. Sureri did pick up that girl.. But he put her in the last attack academy on something like that? He tricks them into putting mask to supposedly hide from. The monsters and their mission is to attack the last defense academy becuse "they are the one responsible for the monster invasion" "if you get rid of the bad guys this whole things can end!" and this girl is alive, just in another academy... Her classmates are getting killed by the other school.. Who also seen them as the villains... Two set of survivors of humanity killing each other.. Believing each other is the bad guy.. The final boss is going to be either that girl (for bad ending) or surei (for good ending)
So with the whole bit of “Last Defense Academy” implies that there were other Defense Academies that have fallen. Some of those nightmarish looking bosses/enemies might be the students from the other schools that were mutated or corrupted by something and are now trying to attack humanity for whatever reason.
@@realfangplays INB4 it's introduced as 'last defense' academy but revealed to be last 'defense academy' in a twist. Although TBH I don't think that wordplay would actually work in Japanese (personally I think 'last defense' academy is more likely).
Just a side note: the pink haired character reveals that she and her brother haven't even graduated junior high in japan, this means they can be as young as around 13, meaning the cast might be younger than Danganronpa's and these might even be middle schoolers
Some of the cast look around 14-15 to me, How old were the Danganronpa characters again? Because you might be right with this cast being younger then the Danganronpa characters

Also major spoilers for Danganronpa: Junko says she erased 2 years of everyone's memories so maybe the DR cast in Danganronpa THH are all 18 at least physically, but mentally they are still minors except Yasuhiro I think

Because certain fans are unable to accept the fact that creatives move on and want to do other things. They're just looking for a game they can call Danganronpa 4 because all they care about is consumption of the thing they hyperfixate on.
I don’t think people are saying they’re connected. I just think people are expecting that they follow a similar narrative to Danganronpa. Rain Code, I can agree. But for this game, it’s pretty obvious-16 students trapped in a school, a silly mascot, the world outside gone to shit. Classic Danganronpa.

I wonder if this is meant to have themes about war and young teenagers participating in war as soldiers. The fact that Takumi activates his power by stabbing himself in the chest may be commenting on how soldiers have to harm themselves (by fighting and being fought in the war) in order to defend their land (kind of like how the students are defending the school from attackers), idk.
That can be possible. Comments that the mascot is kinda shifty made me wonder if there is also a 'controlled chaos' and 'war is folly' theme that could also appear in the game.
I’m going to guess the mechanic that involves Uchikoshi is the ability to travel between realities. Not only do most of his games involve the characters getting information from alternate realities, but the trailer snapping from peaceful to apocalypse without any transition seems like the kind of world hopping you’d get in Zero Escape. I could be completely wrong of course (and I kind of hope I am because I’d like to be surprised), I’m just giving what seems like the most obvious answer.
Well the steam page says that.. "there's 100 different different endings full of despair" so.... Yeah... Probably is would be easy to get different endings and different people living or dying depending of your actions.. That why we would say tokio games was crazy.. Like... 100 different endings? Obtaining different information each time?... That's probably why they hired more writers for this game.. They have RI written different intersctions.. Endings, changes.. Outcomes for all this changes in what the protagonist do or doesn't do.. What characters they save and who not.. And also the quantity of endings that might had been cut for the final game... (I imagine if this different endings theory is correct.. There's gonna be one, AT LEAST ONE, that is going to be a reference to the infamous bad ending of trigger happy havoc)
@@edmg7 It probably would explain the 100 different endings as if it’s similar to Zero Escape, then there’s probably branching paths that you have to get to for getting the true ending. To which if so….please tell me that there’s only like five main paths and the other endings are just dead end/oops! You died endings.
At the very least, he IS reusing the time travel mechanic from Zero Escape and World’s End Club, as you can see in the trailer at one point that Takumi has a unique skill called Ultra Redo, with the wording all but confirming that it’s the in universe explanation for the player being able to reset the battle or wave if Takumi dies or otherwise screws up.
I have a feeling that the spoiler mechanic is perma death and that they might implement that old concept from Distrust (Beta Danganronpa) where the story changes depend on who lives and who dies which will result in the story and ending changing. Which i feel like is why there had to be multiple scenario writers for all the different combos of remaining students. The reason I am saying this is because of the trailer in the Nintendo direct where they say that death is unavoidable as in people WILL die as the game progresses with a shot of a student saying they’ve never seen a person die before.
Actually... Now that I think about it.... What if.... Yes, is exactly as you said.. It would be interesting if this game used the mechanics of beta danganrompa, distrust.. But that game wasn't only just operated by decisions.. But also by the mechanic that is in the title, distrust... Depending on what character trusted you more or less determined what would happen in the story... So... What if.. What determines the game is... The free time events? Normally just an extra feature to learn more about the characters... Now the main core of this gameplay.. That would be epic
I feel like those many endings are probably going to based on survivors. I.e the survivors beign different depending on the player's performance and choices. I can certainly see the idea of losing people in battle being a permanent thing, and/or choices leading to ppl dying or not dying or charas making choices they wouldn't have otherwise. When i think about games like Ai Somnium files and 999, the theme of things going differently because of who is around and what they've been through is a big deal. Meanwhile, in DR and Raincode, there's a big trend of enemies, friendships, and death or survival being tied into how everyone's extreme or conflicting personalities and goals interact with each other. I can totally see these two aspects working really well together for a multiple ending system. And with this team I'm sure there's bound to be a lot more going on under the surface ofc. Terrified and excited at the same time haha.
Yes, it would be pretty exiting, especially if we keep in mind how exciting would be see gameplay of this game.. Given that with this mechanic means that each player's first run would be completely different and that would be exiting
The problem with Raincode was that every chapter have new characters so a character death doesn't feel like anything. But with Danganronpa like setting of tight 16 characters (along mc) then it would be pretty impactful, as I hope so Lmao.

I know when I was reading up on Too Kyo Games when they were first founded, they said their main goal "is to create new intellectual properties, and for the staff to also create their own indie game projects," which hopefully means that we'll get sequels not just for this, but also Master Detective Archives, considering I see a LOT of potential for more stories in both universes.
After learning there’s at least 100 different endings in this game, it has me thinking that the main mechanic of this game might be choosing who dies after a certain amount of days for different endings. It’s crazy enough to not talk about it, but maybe I’m not thinking Kodaka or Uchikoshi crazy though. Guess we’ll find out soon, definitely has me hyped.
The way this whole game is turning out, it's looking like a giant genre crossover between Danganronpa/Master Detective Archives, Zero Escape/AI, Fire Emblem and Persona, which considering I have a special interest in pretty much ALL of those things, makes this probably my most anticipated game of 2025 as of now.
I recently rewatched your video on Danganronpa Distrust, and honestly it seems like the creators are finally dipping more into that concept. I mostly bring it up because that version was supposed to have branching endings too depending on your choices. I just think that's an interesting parallel with this newer game. :)
0:50 So we've got Spaceman Byakuya, Junpei Iori with a blue Grimace shirt, Shinigami mixed with Yuma's disguise from Chapter 2, a generic looking blue-haired person who will likely either be an early victim or the mastermind, Ryoma after watching Winnie the Pooh, straight-up a more gothic version of Maiko from Danganronpa Rebirth, and Tsumugi as a Kanai Ward Peacekeeper!
I think the blue haired girl might be a boy. Apart from having no bust, their uniform looks a lot like a male version of the one that the pink haired girl who just mentioned having a brother is wearing.

Since this game is going to have multiple endings/scenarios. Maybe whatever we choose to do each day will affect what ending you get. Our choices matter and could lead to a good or bad outcome. I think that would be cool, stressful but a lot of potential replay value maybe. And either all endings could be canon(like not all lead to bad endings) or there's just one true ending.
The purple hair girl made me think of Rei from Dra and Sdra2 Also i wasn't interested in this at first but the new trailer got me a little interested in this

@everythingz888 that isn't an Easter egg, though. That's just how games with multiple routes work. Distrust was a game with multiple routes, and what was going go make it different was the trust/distrust system that influenced the trials and routes, so unless this will have that, and that's the secret system that would be a spoiler, then it isn't an Easter egg.

Considering the game will have 100 endings, I assume some of them would follow a route for some characters, similar in AI: Somnium thanks to the flowchart (and obviously there gotta be a flowchart in a Kotaro game)

Considering Kodaka and his history with trailers (See DRV3 and Rain Code) I wonder how long is it going to be before everyone in the trailer dies and the new MC we've never seen before shows up
On the point of the main mechanic being a spoiler, I'd say given how he said it makes sense why he collaborated with Uchikoshi and that they had to have multiple scenario writers, I'm willing to bet it has something to do with branching timelines with different characters dying in each of them and also having a bunch of endings and seeing all of them eventually come together.
3:02 now that you mention it, it reminds me of a manga called Sekai Oni. It's a story about people with a special condition "Alice in Mirrorland", people with this syndrome can't see the reflection in the mirror, instead they see hallucinations. One day they were gathered to defend the world from demons from another dimension because their syndrome gives them powers to fight the invaders. It's basically like danganronpa with characters killing and dying but the theme is much more darker. The next section is spoilers to Sekai Oni. So it's then revealed that "demons" are actually children with the same condition as the main cast. Even though the invaders appeared as devils, they were just humans in their original world. Only people with "Alice in Mirroland" syndrome are able to travel through the two dimensions. And it made me think, what if this monster looking things in Last Defense Academy are just normal students? Maybe they see playable characters as monsters as well and their goal is to kill all weird beings as well. They're called "invading students" for a reason. Or perhaps I am overthinking it
I have a feeling that the game may go similar to school life in danganronpa 1/thh where we have to assign characters to different things and then have free time with them, however they will ofc add other stuff such as the upgrading weapons and training. Just a small feeling/thought I had 😅

I'm calling it right now: Every character besides the protagonist and the mascot are going to die in the prologue... This would be a typical Kodaka storyline and since he did it already last time, nobody would expect he would do it again... Maybe even the mascot character won't survive the prologue and "fat raccoon with a dagger" becomes new headmaster / mascot... Looking forward to the game!

i definitly want to know what's up with evil hatsune miku she really stands out to me personally. i also really like the blue haired guy with red jackets design also is it just me or does the purple haired girl looks like byakuya and toko fused together or had a child or something like come on she looks like a bigger toko with byakuya's attitude. anyway i really like these designs.
Although i don't know what the core mechanic could be per se, i do have an idea of what could be some of it. with an ability's name like Hemoanima, what makes me think this ability does is animate, or create, through blood. In one scene of the trailer we can see the weapons the characters are holding. The handles of the weapons are covered in spikes, so essentially you have to create the blades of the weapons by essentially bleeding out, just like Ryuko from Kill La Kill has her blood sucked away to get powered up by Senketsu. What this imply to me is that the core mechanic could involve this feature, and the characters might need to sacrifice part of their health to do specific actions or attacks. This can lead to a risk & reward situation where you have to carefully decide when it's worth to sacrifice part of your unit's HP to deal more damage or get out of an otherwise unwinnable situation. we'll see how it goes, but i'm definely exited to play this. I hope Kodaka and the rest manage to get out of debt too.
Yes, it definitely looks like weeby, I really hope the translation team puts a reference to her in this character's dialogue... Or in the less likely scenario... Kodaka actually created an character based on weeby news, probably not... But it would be so wild..
The scary girl dies first bc in the trailer released in the Nintendo direct, you can see her with 0 hp left. Everyone else in the party can be seen when the body roles on the ground. Also, the girl from the begging part is still alive and isnt the 16th student. In one of the cover arts, you can count 15 students. She is the one in white. Also, in one of the trailers, you can see her laying on the ground with 3hp left. Also also, i think that you gain power through self harm. In the trailers, you can see spikes where you would hold each weapon. So they hurt their hands to use the weapons. The pink haired girl and purple hair boy are siblings. My theory is that the white uniform girl is a healer and slower gives her life to heal others. She prob sacrifice herself for the others to live. Another theory is that the sky is fake. It has a square like pattern. I belive that it could still be related to Danganronpa. Although the blood is red, i saw theory that team Danganronpa, from v3, was trying to rebrand as good. So they arent using pink so that ppl wont relate it to the other killing games.
Is confirm is not related to danganronpa.. Kodaka doesn't wanna do more of the story for now... But yeah.. I do agree with the rest of things.. Who know... Maybe the sky being fake it means that the characters and all civilization there always lived in the same place.. Never questioning why the sky was the way it was... Maybe.. Those monster were always there.. For generations.. Just that each city had one of those protecting domes.. So.. Normal people could live their normal life while the government tried to fight against this creatures.. For one reason or the other they failed.. And the game starts

The overworld sprites aren't doing the Danganronpa pose! Very impressive! Progress! In all seriousness the financial situation of their company is scary. I hate to say it but it sounds like Rain Code didn't pay the bills. They may be being forced into making a spiritual successor to Danganronpa for marketing purposes. It could be great for fans of the same thing, but I hope they are still able to come up with something creative and branch out. I hope it is actually enjoyable to play because some of their releases have been offputting (Ultimate Summer Camp and Rain Code). Most of all I hope it does well financially. I want to see them do well and continue to make games.
Here's my theory. This isn't the only schoop. The enemies are all students who either failed their defense or just how other schools apear to the students of this one. And at some point you won't just be defending but attacking as well. You may rescue a mysterious 16th student from the enemy group as well

The MC apparently has the Passive Ability to turn back in time (Called "Revert" and "Retry" in the description of his passive ability in the gameplay section). This could mean that in order to use an active one, he would need to stab himself? Or something else entirely. This is just speculation. But it is interesting how this game also seems to feature a Gameplay Mechanic that most recent FE Games also do: The ability to go back in Time. FE16 (Echoes), FE17 (Three Houses) and FE18 (Engage) had it in form of a special ability only the MCs could use (Alm and Celica can use their Goddesses' Turnwheel; Byleth was able to turn back in Time due to the Goddess residing inside them; Alear used their mortal enemy's Draconic Time Crystal). Maybe the main gimmick will include time travelling in this game? I'm pretty sure the blue haired clown girl from your thumbnail seems to be dead, which I don't want to be. I do hope Takumi somehow saves her with his abilities.
Ohh... The ability to go back in time?.. Actually that would track.. They mentioned in this video about a mechanic so out of the blue that would make us think Tokio games is crazy.. And let's remember... This isn't a game of only kodaka, but also ushikoshi... To be honest.. I didn't play a lot of his games... But for what I do know is that he is fan of time traveling, reading minds across universes, loops, and overly complicated but good crafted plots... Were is possible to obtain a happy ending... But you need information from the others routes and decisions you make to obtain it.. This time traveling stuff in battles is definitely around his alley but also crazy, because that means they would have to program and write a lot of different scenarios depending on who you decided to save, or sacrifice.... Maybe you can save the clown lady.. But maybe if you do the biker guy dies... And depending on who is alive you receive different information from those characters and moments and scenes... It would be epic and also mean that the first run of each player could end totally different.. Maybe one ends up in a bad ending.. Maybe they arrive to the Tseudo good ending with everyone alive at the day 100 but still are mysteries... Maybe even an aoi asahina ending (if you know what I mean) the possibilities are huge and it would be interesting
Genuinely hoping this is like a more realized version of like distrust style mechanics from the beta idea where relationships with different characters actually impact the story, giving like more meaning to the apprehensive behavior from all of these other characters I guess I don't know
While I love some of these designs, as a whole these designs are pretty lackluster imo. With all that said, I'm definitely excited for the game and the fact that they went in debt to make this makes me want to support this game.
@@micah459 we’ve already had fat byakuya, short ryomas and teruterus, slender body like korekiyo, buff muscles, curvy etc As for the face this has really always been like this for the danganronpa style, the hair could be different but I think they’re unique enough compared to the other games Unless they make them completely unrealistic with abnormal proportions there’s not really anything else you can make, even if you were to name 3 different types there’s still twelve more and it would have to compliment their whole design

The history behind the game makes me excited yet nervous for the release of it. It seems like a game that will mostly be bought by fans of Danganronpa/Zero Escape/AI Somnium Files, and while that is quite a lot of people, will it be enough to break even with the time and funds Kodaka and Uchikoshi put in? Nevertheless, I'll definitely be buying this game to play it for myself. So hyped!

man I'm so excited for this project, Fire Emblem-type games are literally like the only type of non-visual novel games I enjoy so they really went all in on making this game hit just for me lmaoooo
I think I actually already figured out who the girl we see get thrown to the ground in the trailer is. During that scene, if you pause at the right moment, you can see just enough of her hair to tell what color, type, and length it is. It’s a shade of blonde that looks similar to beige, and is roughly waist length and wavy. And in the key art where you can see multiple students looking at the horizon in the background, you can see a girl on the far right with waist length wavy hair that’s colored blonde, almost beige. It’s pretty much all but stated that she’s the same girl, though because of the game having 100 different endings, there’s still no guarantee that she’ll always die no matter what you do and could possibly survive in some routes.

I saw the Direct with a group and when I saw the character design I just covered my mouth and screamed. Just. Screamed. They were so fucking confused. But I then told them it's from the makers of one of my favorite games and they went. "Ah. Understandable."

It would be an pretty original love interest honestly... Instead of the smart girl is the crazy girl... Thing that in this case would make sense... Like... In danganrompa part of the love interest was that girl was pretty useful in investigation and in the class trials (chiaki and kioko) but now with the focus being battles... The most useful person in this situation could be the crazy chick... And also one of the most important and focus character.. I can see her even saving the protagonist in thogh situations.. That could be it... Maybe... In another hand we saw her died in the trailer... Although it can't be clearly seen is her... Given the context clues... The characters that were battling in the earlier part and the characters that were there when that body fell.. And who didn't have HP points in that scene.. It seems she is the first to die
@@frangolles yes the scene were hinting that she dies..... but what interesting at the end of trailer where the character cast lining up, the main character and the crazy girl is the only two who get highlighted close to each other while everybody else showing their back or they were far away..... showing one of your character dies in trailer would be a pretty stupid spoiler..... also if your party member have HP then they can just die in battle and i dont think its gonna be permadeath like fire emblem, they must be respawning or something.... considering this is still early game and i assume that is a tutorial battle, there must be some sort of system we don't know of.....
Watch at the end of the game, junko appears and starts another killing game. I know that they aren't connected but they be in different parts of Japan. Like Danganronpa could take part in one part of Japan and so on. This is my tiny headcanon. 😊

Because we know that the girl is alive... How do we know this?. In one or the trailers there's an action RPG scene in front of the same bridge seen in the beginning cinematic... The girl is on the floor and this seems to be the tutorial on how use the powers... But the girl has a health bar, she haves 3HP.. She is alive... But why only see surei take the protagonist to his academy, why? Why not take her as well? Give her powers and do it... But what if he did?
We always had the funny cartoon character being an secondary filler character.. Even monokuma is tossed aside to let junko and tsumugi take the spotlight... But what if.. This time.. The mascot character, is actually the main villain.. And no one else?..
Sureri did pick up that girl.. But he put her in the last attack academy on something like that? He tricks them into putting mask to supposedly hide from. The monsters and their mission is to attack the last defense academy becuse "they are the one responsible for the monster invasion" "if you get rid of the bad guys this whole things can end!" and this girl is alive, just in another academy... Her classmates are getting killed by the other school.. Who also seen them as the villains... Two set of survivors of humanity killing each other.. Believing each other is the bad guy.. The final boss is going to be either that girl (for bad ending) or surei (for good ending)

So with the whole bit of “Last Defense Academy” implies that there were other Defense Academies that have fallen. Some of those nightmarish looking bosses/enemies might be the students from the other schools that were mutated or corrupted by something and are now trying to attack humanity for whatever reason.

I wonder if this is meant to have themes about war and young teenagers participating in war as soldiers. The fact that Takumi activates his power by stabbing himself in the chest may be commenting on how soldiers have to harm themselves (by fighting and being fought in the war) in order to defend their land (kind of like how the students are defending the school from attackers), idk.
That can be possible. Comments that the mascot is kinda shifty made me wonder if there is also a 'controlled chaos' and 'war is folly' theme that could also appear in the game.
I’m going to guess the mechanic that involves Uchikoshi is the ability to travel between realities. Not only do most of his games involve the characters getting information from alternate realities, but the trailer snapping from peaceful to apocalypse without any transition seems like the kind of world hopping you’d get in Zero Escape.
I could be completely wrong of course (and I kind of hope I am because I’d like to be surprised), I’m just giving what seems like the most obvious answer.
Well the steam page says that.. "there's 100 different different endings full of despair" so.... Yeah... Probably is would be easy to get different endings and different people living or dying depending of your actions.. That why we would say tokio games was crazy.. Like... 100 different endings? Obtaining different information each time?... That's probably why they hired more writers for this game.. They have RI written different intersctions.. Endings, changes.. Outcomes for all this changes in what the protagonist do or doesn't do.. What characters they save and who not.. And also the quantity of endings that might had been cut for the final game... (I imagine if this different endings theory is correct.. There's gonna be one, AT LEAST ONE, that is going to be a reference to the infamous bad ending of trigger happy havoc)

At the very least, he IS reusing the time travel mechanic from Zero Escape and World’s End Club, as you can see in the trailer at one point that Takumi has a unique skill called Ultra Redo, with the wording all but confirming that it’s the in universe explanation for the player being able to reset the battle or wave if Takumi dies or otherwise screws up.

I have a feeling that the spoiler mechanic is perma death and that they might implement that old concept from Distrust (Beta Danganronpa) where the story changes depend on who lives and who dies which will result in the story and ending changing. Which i feel like is why there had to be multiple scenario writers for all the different combos of remaining students. The reason I am saying this is because of the trailer in the Nintendo direct where they say that death is unavoidable as in people WILL die as the game progresses with a shot of a student saying they’ve never seen a person die before.

But that game wasn't only just operated by decisions.. But also by the mechanic that is in the title, distrust... I feel like those many endings are probably going to based on survivors. I.e the survivors beign different depending on the player's performance and choices.
I can certainly see the idea of losing people in battle being a permanent thing, and/or choices leading to ppl dying or not dying or charas making choices they wouldn't have otherwise.
When i think about games like Ai Somnium files and 999, the theme of things going differently because of who is around and what they've been through is a big deal.
Meanwhile, in DR and Raincode, there's a big trend of enemies, friendships, and death or survival being tied into how everyone's extreme or conflicting personalities and goals interact with each other.
I can totally see these two aspects working really well together for a multiple ending system. And with this team I'm sure there's bound to be a lot more going on under the surface ofc. Terrified and excited at the same time haha.

The problem with Raincode was that every chapter have new characters so a character death doesn't feel like anything. But with Danganronpa like setting of tight 16 characters (along mc) then it would be pretty impactful, as I hope so Lmao.

I know when I was reading up on Too Kyo Games when they were first founded, they said their main goal "is to create new intellectual properties, and for the staff to also create their own indie game projects," which hopefully means that we'll get sequels not just for this, but also Master Detective Archives, considering I see a LOT of potential for more stories in both universes.
This game sounds like Persona 3(the s*lf h*rming summoning powers and daily life part) meets fire emblem (main srpg combat) meets Danganronpa.

After learning there’s at least 100 different endings in this game, it has me thinking that the main mechanic of this game might be choosing who dies after a certain amount of days for different endings. It’s crazy enough to not talk about it, but maybe I’m not thinking Kodaka or Uchikoshi crazy though. Guess we’ll find out soon, definitely has me hyped.
The way this whole game is turning out, it's looking like a giant genre crossover between Danganronpa/Master Detective Archives, Zero Escape/AI, Fire Emblem and Persona, which considering I have a special interest in pretty much ALL of those things, makes this probably my most anticipated game of 2025 as of now.
I recently rewatched your video on Danganronpa Distrust, and honestly it seems like the creators are finally dipping more into that concept. I mostly bring it up because that version was supposed to have branching endings too depending on your choices. I just think that's an interesting parallel with this newer game. :)

Maybe whatever we choose to do each day will affect what ending you get. Our choices matter and could lead to a good or bad outcome. I think that would be cool, stressful but a lot of potential replay value maybe.
And either all endings could be canon(like not all lead to bad endings) or there's just one true ending.

Distrust was a game with multiple routes, and what was going go make it different was the trust/distrust system that influenced the trials and routes, so unless this will have that, and that's the secret system that would be a spoiler, then it isn't an Easter egg.

On the point of the main mechanic being a spoiler, I'd say given how he said it makes sense why he collaborated with Uchikoshi and that they had to have multiple scenario writers, I'm willing to bet it has something to do with branching timelines with different characters dying in each of them and also having a bunch of endings and seeing all of them eventually come together.
3:02 now that you mention it, it reminds me of a manga called Sekai Oni.
It's a story about people with a special condition "Alice in Mirrorland", people with this syndrome can't see the reflection in the mirror, instead they see hallucinations. One day they were gathered to defend the world from demons from another dimension because their syndrome gives them powers to fight the invaders. It's basically like danganronpa with characters killing and dying but the theme is much more darker.
The next section is spoilers to Sekai Oni. So it's then revealed that "demons" are actually children with the same condition as the main cast. Even though the invaders appeared as devils, they were just humans in their original world. Only people with "Alice in Mirroland" syndrome are able to travel through the two dimensions.
And it made me think, what if this monster looking things in Last Defense Academy are just normal students? Maybe they see playable characters as monsters as well and their goal is to kill all weird beings as well. They're called "invading students" for a reason. Or perhaps I am overthinking it

i definitly want to know what's up with evil hatsune miku she really stands out to me personally. i also really like the blue haired guy with red jackets design also is it just me or does the purple haired girl looks like byakuya and toko fused together or had a child or something like come on she looks like a bigger toko with byakuya's attitude. anyway i really like these designs.
Although i don't know what the core mechanic could be per se, i do have an idea of what could be some of it. with an ability's name like Hemoanima, what makes me think this ability does is animate, or create, through blood. In one scene of the trailer we can see the weapons the characters are holding. The handles of the weapons are covered in spikes, so essentially you have to create the blades of the weapons by essentially bleeding out, just like Ryuko from Kill La Kill has her blood sucked away to get powered up by Senketsu.
What this imply to me is that the core mechanic could involve this feature, and the characters might need to sacrifice part of their health to do specific actions or attacks. This can lead to a risk & reward situation where you have to carefully decide when it's worth to sacrifice part of your unit's HP to deal more damage or get out of an otherwise unwinnable situation.
we'll see how it goes, but i'm definely exited to play this. I hope Kodaka and the rest manage to get out of debt too.

Yes, it definitely looks like weeby, I really hope the translation team puts a reference to her in this character's dialogue... Or in the less likely scenario... Kodaka actually created an character based on weeby news, probably not... But it would be so wild..
The scary girl dies first bc in the trailer released in the Nintendo direct, you can see her with 0 hp left. Everyone else in the party can be seen when the body roles on the ground. Also, the girl from the begging part is still alive and isnt the 16th student. In one of the cover arts, you can count 15 students. She is the one in white. Also, in one of the trailers, you can see her laying on the ground with 3hp left. Also also, i think that you gain power through self harm. In the trailers, you can see spikes where you would hold each weapon. So they hurt their hands to use the weapons. The pink haired girl and purple hair boy are siblings. My theory is that the white uniform girl is a healer and slower gives her life to heal others. She prob sacrifice herself for the others to live. Another theory is that the sky is fake. It has a square like pattern. I belive that it could still be related to Danganronpa. Although the blood is red, i saw theory that team Danganronpa, from v3, was trying to rebrand as good. So they arent using pink so that ppl wont relate it to the other killing games.

In all seriousness the financial situation of their company is scary. I hate to say it but it sounds like Rain Code didn't pay the bills. They may be being forced into making a spiritual successor to Danganronpa for marketing purposes. It could be great for fans of the same thing, but I hope they are still able to come up with something creative and branch out. I hope it is actually enjoyable to play because some of their releases have been offputting (Ultimate Summer Camp and Rain Code). Most of all I hope it does well financially. I want to see them do well and continue to make games.

Here's my theory. This isn't the only schoop. The enemies are all students who either failed their defense or just how other schools apear to the students of this one. And at some point you won't just be defending but attacking as well. You may rescue a mysterious 16th student from the enemy group as well

The MC apparently has the Passive Ability to turn back in time (Called "Revert" and "Retry" in the description of his passive ability in the gameplay section). This could mean that in order to use an active one, he would need to stab himself? Or something else entirely. This is just speculation. But it is interesting how this game also seems to feature a Gameplay Mechanic that most recent FE Games also do: The ability to go back in Time. FE16 (Echoes), FE17 (Three Houses) and FE18 (Engage) had it in form of a special ability only the MCs could use (Alm and Celica can use their Goddesses' Turnwheel; Byleth was able to turn back in Time due to the Goddess residing inside them; Alear used their mortal enemy's Draconic Time Crystal).
Maybe the main gimmick will include time travelling in this game? I'm pretty sure the blue haired clown girl from your thumbnail seems to be dead, which I don't want to be. I do hope Takumi somehow saves her with his abilities.

But you need information from the others routes and decisions you make to obtain it.. This time traveling stuff in battles is definitely around his alley but also crazy, because that means they would have to program and write a lot of different scenarios depending on who you decided to save, or sacrifice.... Maybe you can save the clown lady.. But maybe if you do the biker guy dies... And depending on who is alive you receive different information from those characters and moments and scenes...
It would be epic and also mean that the first run of each player could end totally different.. Maybe one ends up in a bad ending.. Maybe they arrive to the Tseudo good ending with everyone alive at the day 100 but still are mysteries...
Maybe even an aoi asahina ending (if you know what I mean) the possibilities are huge and it would be interesting

Genuinely hoping this is like a more realized version of like distrust style mechanics from the beta idea where relationships with different characters actually impact the story, giving like more meaning to the apprehensive behavior from all of these other characters I guess I don't know
While I love some of these designs, as a whole these designs are pretty lackluster imo. With all that said, I'm definitely excited for the game and the fact that they went in debt to make this makes me want to support this game.
After 3 games it’s hard to make unique designs without making them look over the top and unrealistic

As for the face this has really always been like this for the danganronpa style, the hair could be different but I think they’re unique enough compared to the other games
Unless they make them completely unrealistic with abnormal proportions there’s not really anything else you can make, even if you were to name 3 different types there’s still twelve more and it would have to compliment their whole design

The history behind the game makes me excited yet nervous for the release of it. It seems like a game that will mostly be bought by fans of Danganronpa/Zero Escape/AI Somnium Files, and while that is quite a lot of people, will it be enough to break even with the time and funds Kodaka and Uchikoshi put in? Nevertheless, I'll definitely be buying this game to play it for myself. So hyped!

man I'm so excited for this project, Fire Emblem-type games are literally like the only type of non-visual novel games I enjoy so they really went all in on making this game hit just for me lmaoooo
I think I actually already figured out who the girl we see get thrown to the ground in the trailer is. During that scene, if you pause at the right moment, you can see just enough of her hair to tell what color, type, and length it is. It’s a shade of blonde that looks similar to beige, and is roughly waist length and wavy. And in the key art where you can see multiple students looking at the horizon in the background, you can see a girl on the far right with waist length wavy hair that’s colored blonde, almost beige. It’s pretty much all but stated that she’s the same girl, though because of the game having 100 different endings, there’s still no guarantee that she’ll always die no matter what you do and could possibly survive in some routes.

It would be an pretty original love interest honestly... Instead of the smart girl is the crazy girl... Thing that in this case would make sense... Like... In danganrompa part of the love interest was that girl was pretty useful in investigation and in the class trials (chiaki and kioko) but now with the focus being battles... The most useful person in this situation could be the crazy chick... And also one of the most important and focus character.. I can see her even saving the protagonist in thogh situations.. That could be it... Maybe...
In another hand we saw her died in the trailer... Although it can't be clearly seen is her... Given the context clues... The characters that were battling in the earlier part and the characters that were there when that body fell.. And who didn't have HP points in that scene..

@@frangolles yes the scene were hinting that she dies..... but what interesting at the end of trailer where the character cast lining up, the main character and the crazy girl is the only two who get highlighted close to each other while everybody else showing their back or they were far away..... showing one of your character dies in trailer would be a pretty stupid spoiler..... also if your party member have HP then they can just die in battle and i dont think its gonna be permadeath like fire emblem, they must be respawning or something.... considering this is still early game and i assume that is a tutorial battle, there must be some sort of system we don't know of.....

Watch at the end of the game, junko appears and starts another killing game. I know that they aren't connected but they be in different parts of Japan. Like Danganronpa could take part in one part of Japan and so on. This is my tiny headcanon. 😊
