Thank you for sharing. If more people were kind to others we could all enjoy the outdoors. As a resident of Ohio it is frustrating to go out to hunt and not be able to find a spot because of out of State hunters. But at the same time I'm glad people are enjoying the outdoors.
Back when I started hunting in the early 80’s guys would drive on the last day to try to help the guys that hadn’t killed a deer yet fill their tag. But no days at 8:00 on opening day you have idiots everywhere driving
Hello. Im from that area and know exactly where you shot at. In all my time that area is very unsafe for gun week. Looks like you have the same experience many have. 50 million people everywhere with guns. That area is not that vast of an area either. Imo idc for all the deer drives they do through there, its not fun anymore. I was also reading an article from odnr that there were over 40k+ out of state license and tags bought last year and that they may implement a draw. Happy hunting!
I saw that too. I am all for hunting but it’s far past time that Ohio started doing something to help protect the deer herd and its citizens who hunt. At the very least, non-residents should be required to shoot a doe before they can shoot a buck or if you draw a tag you are not eligible to hunt Ohio again for at least 5 years. It gives everyone a fair shot and helps provide quality hunting opportunities. I hunt in states where thats the rule and I am ok with it. With CWD, EHD, continual loss of habitat, and more and more hunters coming here to ohio these days: it’s past time for Ohio to become proactive for the sake of one of our most precious resources. Again, I am all for our brothers afield joining in, but you go to hunt (especially the rut) and there are people from at least a dozen different states (not including the Amish), it’s frustrating to say the least.
@@14sixproject29 amen! It was tough to push through at times for sure, but keeping a positive outlook was the only choice after making a long drive and spending time away from family!
@@acekingce we are all on the same team, no need to worry about others. Opinions aren’t laws. If it’s legal and makes you happy that’s all that matters. I also encourage everyone to teach at least 1 new adult hunter a year!

@@xtremity2361 happy hunting to you as well! 40k nonresident/out of state is crazy!
Get over it, we need more hunters.
@deerslayer4204 wtf? Get over what? How unsafe deer drives are in that area? You should calm down a bit
The out of state tags and licenses are a big money maker, which of they are using it for hunter education, land management, etc I'm all for it.

Cool story, thank you for sharing. You could have let that ruin your trip but you made the best of it and God blessed you.

IMO driving deer should be illegal. Poor sportsmanship!
@@scottbeaty4281 thanks for watching and sharing your opinion! We are all on the same team!
While you sit in a heated box blind hunting over a feeder or a food plot, but that’s sportsmanship

But shooting them over a bait pike is sportsmanship? That’s not even hunting. At least here they can escape
Everyone hunts differently, I dont do drives but I respect others traditions.
