It's amazing isn't it? No matter how big the operation, it all still comes down to a goldpan! Kudos for testing. If you don't test, you go broke FAST! Great reality vid.A+++
It is cool to come across stuff left behind from back in the gold rush days. I was working a claim just North of Barkerville back in the late 80's when I was a early teenager and we dug up stuff all the time. Mostly relics from the Chinamen that worked in camps. This one time that freaked me out was I seen what looked like a human foot roll down the sluice, so I stopped the feed and sure enough it was a foot. But it was carved out of a rock. Later we found another but the hoe broke it so it wasn't in one piece. The coolest part of it was the one foot that was whole was perfectly balanced where when you lay it on a level table, you could slide a piece of paper under the heal. I have been searching for a claim last year and I hope to find one this year where I can work it for the season. Best of luck on this year, and I subscribed so I can follow your journey prospecting
@@YukonAli The claim owner donated both the full foot and broken pieces to the Quesnel museum. with this fast thaw we are having in the Prince George area, I should be able to get into the back roads to test a few places shortly. Good luck to you guys also

Keep these videos coming. It's great seeing how it's done in the major leagues. The first rule of gold mining is, you have to mine where the gold is. Hope you found some rich spots to dig this year.
A friend and i spent a week around Dawson City back in the 90's. Yes there wasn't a day that went by where we didn't get smashed. spent a lot of time at a campground right on what they called Loon Lake? brings back memories that's for sure.
@@YukonAli We were at a roadside campground in the Yukon, cooking up some fresh lake trout and having some beers, when a RCMP pulled into camp. He parks his squad car, gets out and walks up to us and starts talking to us like we were some lost family of his. We shared our salmon and fried potatoes with him. He stayed with us for about 90 minutes shooting the shit having laughs and all that until he got a call to go. likely someones dog missing or something. Anyway. like i said i got so many memories of my time up there. i did a lot of gold panning when i lived in Alaska for 20 yrs.. Stay cool or warm.
Simple question: When doing your final clean up in your pan why do use the side with no riffles? We used to make the same mistake and later found that we were losing our fines and some pickers and have since stopped using that method to prevent losing gold.
We pan into another tub and rerun the dirt we pan out so we don't lose anything. I hate those riffles! They seem to catch everything, not just the gold...

At 1:l24 why not bring the wate to then with a bunch of water hoses. You dont even need a pump, just gravity: Have hose filled with water in advance. Put one end in your water source, then bring the hose up to a point tyhat is higher the locatton you with the water to flow at, tie the hose there so as you bring the hose back down to your dig spot it stays up there. Then unseal the house there and water will start flowing out nonstop. City water tap works the same way, this is how your tap keeps working even when power is out. The part of the house thats furthests wants to make the water get out fthrough the openning at your dig site, but because the hose is air tight, it needs something to replace the now missing water thus it creates natural sucction that sucks the water from all the way at the bottom of the mountain. Notice, you may want to use pipes for the highest point because the huge pressure thasts used to suck the waster puts a lot of strain on the hose and may it if pressure gets too high. And the higher you move the water thehigher the pressure gets.
