  • Whether you are a brand new or an experienced Line 6 Helix user, here is a nice and simple guide to creating a decent sounding metal guitar tone using the HX Edit application.
    Even if you don't use the Helix, you could follow along with the signal chain and try out similar settings on the respective components / pedals you have 🤘
    And here is the tone if you want to download and use it:

    The only thing I noticed is you put your time based effects before the modulation effects is that a personal preference thing? It’s generally mod before time but its always fair game to try to paint any way you want too. Sick tones tho bud.

    I usually 2 noise gates at -70 db and 10 ms in the input block and then also a block before any preamps/amps/pedals. It clears all the noise while at the same time it's not intrusive at all and doesn't mess with your sustain like more aggressive settings do. I never even notice it's on.

    turn the delay before cab in secondary path off for lead tones.
    more mids and volume for lead tones then rhythm tones.
    modulation before reverbs and delays

    how did you save for the presets? Didnt see you hit any buttons or commands

    • @GrymOfficial
      @GrymOfficial  11 месяцев назад

      Saving anything on the software requires you to press Ctrl + S
      Gotta be careful and do it regularly otherwise when you click out of your tone you will lose a bunch of your changes. Has happened too many times lol

    • @jonfield4757
      @jonfield4757 11 месяцев назад

      thanks for response. I was using that(ctrl and S) and it worked for turning blocks on and off from snapshot to snapshot but I want to move blocks to different positions in the chain and save as snapsots . I saw you do that but for some reason I cant. I must have overlooked some detail when watching your instructions?@@GrymOfficial

      Looking at the HX Edit download from the line 6 software page. Looks like it’s compatible with HX stomp and Helix LT / Rack. So should be good with whatever you decide on 👍

    I had my Helix LT for about a month, I have the Line 6 PowerCab 112 (single speaker).
    I’m using my YJM strat (single coils, but not really) and I’m having a hard time getting
    the bass strings to sound clear and defined under gain. When hitting chords or playing rhythm…
    it just sound muddy, and undefined.. “wooly”
    Is there any area I should focus my attention on? There are a lot of positive reviews for this cab, I just wish I could get a clearer, defined bottom end! Help!!

    • @GrymOfficial
      @GrymOfficial  11 месяцев назад +1

      Man that’s a tough one. Not too sure but maybe could try adding an EQ in the chain and lowering some low end up to 90hz, maybe a little boost of the high end 5000-10000 or a presence / treble boost
      Is it just specifically the low end strings that is the problem? Maybe something to do with the pickup in that case. Could try a different pickup to see if that rules it out. Also if it’s active or passive pickups, new battery?
      Could also try different gauge strings or something too. Maybe also bring it into a guitar shop and test the guitar on other amps. See if it’s your guitar or the amp. Also could be technique related. Hard one to pinpoint haha
      Hopefully you can figure it out. Maybe someone else has a similar issue online with the same amp if you have a search. Learn a lot from forums these days

      I think the POD Go uses a slightly different editing application right? Pod Go Edit, I think?
