- A new production starring Michael Sheen takes the audience on a "surreal and spectacular journey through the life and legacy of the man who transformed Britain's welfare state", according to the National Theatre.
"The vision that grew out of that has to be reimagined now because the NHS is in all kinds of difficulties and whether that's about underfunding or whatever it might be it has to be reimagined for now and for the future to move on," Mr Sheen said.
But, as he tells ITV News, the timeliness of the show's release has taken on extra importance given the modern-day pressures felt by the NHS and, what he feels, is the need for radical change.

Brilliant invention thank god for the nhs
Saw it last week- fantastic! Great play and fantastic acting😊😊
Saw this play for £20.00 at NT
Helen my LOVE, my girl, my princess, my Queen of my heart ♥️❤️♥️❤️♥️❤️
I LOVE you, Helen ❤️❤️♥️❤️♥️❤️
no other countries can beat our NHS❤
Why the need to tie it to nationalism? I have lived in countries with equally, and often better, taxpayer funded health care systems. Japan being one of them.
Canada is having its issues - the same issues that the NHS is having from what I have observed.
Oh my god, so much epicness in onw single video!
Theatre is way too expensive to be accesible to most people. Cinema is a massively different experience to live theatre even if its showing theatre plays.
the play will also be available on NT at Home
@@CallistaZM Don't you get my drift? It takes creativity to get there. Instead, you want to receive, not make. What a waste of time!
@@JelMain k? I was responding to the OP who said theater isn't accessible?
@@JelMain also you wrote a brick wall essay I'm not reading that
I saw Nye for £20. Not the best seats but no restricted view either. The National Theatre is more accessible than most but not everyone can travel to it or even afford a £20 ticket. Sadly there's too much poverty.
Michael Sheen is brilliant. Can't stand foul mouthed Mirren though.
