I honestly feel like the way these two are together, plus how Michael Sheen and Kate Beckinsale are together - and how Kate and Sarah are together... is truly the future we need to want for the generations to come. It should no longer be fashionable to be resentful or spiteful towards your ex, it should be "cool" to forgive and forget and heal and move on. I love seeing that kind of stuff. My parents are from a generation where being able to talk after divorce is extremely rare... I hope this is the future.
I think so too! A long term relationship I had recently ended and we're doing our best to be great friends and so far it's working very well. I feel lucky because she knows me better than anyone. Even more than my friends or family and we both still care for each other and hope the best for each other. It's actually an incredible feeling to know someone like that.
I'm guessing all of the relationships you mentioned ended fairly amicably though. Not everyone has a civil breakup to begin with. It's easy to be friends with an ex when things just didn't work out as opposed to one partner doing something shitty leading to the breakup.
My ex husband and I have been divorced 5 years and we're really good friends. We were really good friends before dating and all through the marriage. When we split we were both heartbroken. In the first year we were kind to eachother initially for only 2 reasons 1. For the sake of the kids and 2. Not wanting to do any more harm since the marriage was already (as they say in divorce court) "irreparably broken." We both wanted to move on and heal. Eventually I think we remembered how to be friends again and that'd we'd always been great friends for the last 17 years. So from the ashes of our failed marriage a friendship grew there and I think it started with how much we respected the other person as a great parent. That was one reason we actually stayed married too long was we were just both devoted to our kids and didn't want to break up our family. He's a wonderful father and a good man and a good friend and I have no regrets that I married him or had kids with him. I only feel happy these days, I think we both let go of the past and want the other person to be happy as much as we want our own happiness. So anyway yes I hope the future of divorce is learning to forgive and let go of the past and heal. So I 100% loved your comment OP
I love when she comes on Kimmel. Knowing in the back of mind that they were a couple once. But they are both professionals yet you get to see a side of jimmy that you don’t very often. It’s cute.
Giorgi Nemsitsveridze yeah I know but idk it's weird he's married like I just wonder about his wife, her watching it in the back room lol seeing the too still very much googly eyed for eachother there's no denying that
I know, I know but I think it's better this way, married people shouldn't pretend they never loved their exes, that would seem fake and unnatural, they were together because they loved one-another
How many ppl do you know lol? Most exes dont hang out and get along, especially divorcees without children...and those that do get along only do so for sake of children or mutual friends. You need to get out more and meet more ppl.
Because he said "We(!)'ll figure it all out" - as if he planned to jump in on the on-again-off-again-action" - and you know it was meant that way because he immediately gaslighted that with this dog-question ^^
I love this interview because you can see all the little hints & references to their past, all the little ways of interacting they have that were probably why they fell in love & now are just the reasons why they still care about eachother. If you'd asked me to name 2 ex's who are super-mature about their breakup, I wouldn't have picked these 2. But it's really lovely to see. Affection can change its shape, if you work at it. Reminds me in a way of David Spade & Ellen, the story they tell about how David kinda had a crush on Ellen until he found out she was...um...on the women's baseball team. The feelings changed to friendship & they've been really good friends for 20 years. It's always great to watch Spade on Ellen's show, they're so fun together. Love can change its shape over time.
It wouldn't surprise me because I used to date a girl named Shannon. And, after we broke up, for some reason... probably some sort of passive-aggressive, deep, subconscious, psychological reason... I always call her _Sharon_ now. I swear, I don't do consciously. And, I never had that issue while we were together. It's like my mouth refuses to speak of... she who must not be named.
If you ask me, she should be on the show every couple of weeks. I love Jimmy, and to me his most hilarious moments are when he's fooling around with Sarah. It's just so genuine.
I can totally relate. I fell from 3 floors up and woke up after a month or so, two weeks in a coma, with my hands tied down to my sides, too. 5 months of retrograde amnesia, a cracked skull, blind in my left eye, a punctured liver and a dislocated finger. Even after leaving the hospital, I felt sad, angry, depressed and lost in life. I felt as if I didn't know who I was anymore. That happened 1 December 2017. Today, I have healed from that. I did that, in one way, by trying hard to push my unwanted emotions aside everyday and be grateful, not for what happened to me but grateful that i am alive. Semper Fi.
That's the thing with some exes. You can be with someone you're in love with right now while at the same time still love your ex. Still loving your ex is much more different than being IN love with someone.
Nick From Cleveland hasn’t it been years ? And they both had relationships since then and he’s married so I’m sure he’s fine. I’m very close to a ex from years ago. And he’s friendly with my hubby and I like his current girlfriend. It was just so long ago I don’t feel romantically for him now. Been 20 years I’d friendship and we dated for 3 months LOL
Honestly, if you wake up with a tube down your throat and your hands tied, it's more likely you've been captured by the U.S. and you're in Guantanamo.... Sarah's special is great btw.
She's right about pulling out breathing tubes. I had a tube going down my throat last year when I was the hospital for a hernia that almost killed me. I woke up and pulled it out because I was delirious after the operation. I had to let them put it back in while I was still conscious. It wasn't that bad putting it back in.
Tim Oakley because rape is the first thing you think of when you hear "WAKING UP TIED DOWN" blah blah blah. What you said wasn't funny or clever and interesting how you felt the need to share how you've had girlfriends who just "loved" to be tied down like you were just waiting for people to know that. Maybe your enjoying sharing that info an it to much hmmm?
96actress I repeat, it was a joke, actually, not even a joke. I just said that I think there's a joke to be made there. Especially from a comedian with her edgy style. So, again, she wouldn't have been offended but , lucky for all of us, the other commenter came along got offended by proxy. Then, even luckier, you came along and got offended for the girl who got offended. All because I wondered aloud what other kinds of jokes could be mined from something a comedian said. Keep it up. You're changing the world all by yourself by going around reading into everything to find fuel for that Man hating rage that burns within you. Bet you're great at parties.
Let me explain this to you as simply as I can since you don't seem to grasp the simplest concepts. Waking up to someone performing a sex act on you, with you, of any kind implies that you were asleep. Sleep is characterized medically as a period of responsive unconsciousness - meaning outside stimuli can wake you up, still it is unconsciousness. So, legally, having sex with someone who is asleep constitutes rape. And that is a matter of law. No one cares if your "girlfriends" like to be tied up.
Put into a medically induced coma for a collapsed lung and I did the same thing - wake up and would fight the restraints and think OMG I'm stuck in this I hope someone saves me. 3 weeks in the coma after the people working on me put a drainage tube in my stomach and niched a vein, lost 4 pints of blood into my stomach. Periodically I would see my mom who would remind me that I had surgery and was in ICU. I don't remember anything either. Sad and scary situations!!
I love that they can get along and joke so well after dating.
same
The love that they have for each other even though they're no longer together is really beautiful
I think Jimmy still has a lot of love for Sarah.Look at the way he looks at her - all the time throughout the interview. WOW

I'm guessing all of the relationships you mentioned ended fairly amicably though. Not everyone has a civil breakup to begin with. It's easy to be friends with an ex when things just didn't work out as opposed to one partner doing something shitty leading to the breakup.
@Milesgatman Exactly! That's a luxury of the bourgeoisie, nobles and famous people. Poor people need to stick to what they have.
