I was raised with Sandi being my all time favorite-and now, at 77 yrs old, she STILL is my favorite Christian vocalist!! We Christians are so noted for shooting our wounded. So blessed Jesus gives grace, mercy, forgiveness and redemption!!! We have a lot yet to learn!!! 👍🏼🙏🏼📖✝️

She said that her parents took her to a supposed friend of the family's house and Sandi said that she was molested by him when she was a little girl. Sandi Patty was abused and brought that in her first marriage to her first husband John Helvering, sr. Sandi Patty was hurt and it caused her to hurt her loved ones and her first husband along with their 4 children that Sandi had with him. Sandi was always thought of as the good image cutie who sang in church where Sandi was brought in since birth. Don Peslis was adopted as a kid so it was a different upbringing for him. He understood and Sandi felt that she found someone who could relate to her when it came to being hurt. Sandi's music career was almost over and a lot of her fans stop buying her music albums, CD's, tapes, etc. Sandi have 3 biological children with the second husband Don and they adopted one to make 4. It's not fair to bring up a 30-plus year scandal because that is something that Sandi can't change. A lot of people who love Sandi's music will always remember how wonderful Sandi belts out songs with the lovely high notes. Sandi is also gaining a lot fans and fans that remained loyal to her even when she was involved in a scandal. It's time to move on from Sandi Patty's mistakes and appreciate the fact she has asked for forgiveness. She is a sister in Christ and she needs encouragement and just keep praying for her if her past have got you angry with her. No one is perfect and we all have a past good and bad and we know if we did what Ms. Patty did we would want to be forgiven, too. Just My Thoughts.
She was actually molested by a teacher at school who had come to stay with her while her parents had gone out of town because they were missionaries. They thought that this teacher was safe. She was not. It is all in her book I read. It is heart-wrenching what she has gone through but I thank God that she has stood strong in her faith
