Nice fly mate, just a little tip for the fly.. tye the head/Collar partridge hackle in by the (tip) rather than the thick end of the stem it is the best way for partridge hackles and most soft hackles. Happy tying people
Great pattern love how the body is encompassed by the mallard I’d love to tie some up but who knew finding hen mallard breast feathers would be so hard any one have any resources I’d greatly appreciate it
Thanks Scott, dare I say from a Female mallard! You can also use the chocolate brown neck feathers from the mallard drake. Take a look at the Welshman's button.

Veniard sell packs of them, but if you can get hold of a hen mallard skin...

Normally with a small lime green or orange spot.

similar to an impressionistic fly fly called the "Cockaroo"

Hi Dominique, subsurface if you need it to be heavier I tie it also with a bead head.
So you fish it on a swing like wet flies?
Hi Marek, yes but you can also fish it on still waters with a floating line, let it sink and then give it a pull to the surface...
I use an invictor for diving caddis smash takes every time
