    Nice fly mate, just a little tip for the fly.. tye the head/Collar partridge hackle in by the (tip) rather than the thick end of the stem it is the best way for partridge hackles and most soft hackles.
    Happy tying people

    Like this one Barry! It's an excellent imitation of the female laying her eggs. I'll tie up a couple for the box. Thanks for sharing! Cheers! Hank

    Great pattern love how the body is encompassed by the mallard I’d love to tie some up but who knew finding hen mallard breast feathers would be so hard any one have any resources I’d greatly appreciate it

      Veniard sell packs of them, but if you can get hold of a hen mallard skin...

    Beautiful pattern! Although I do have a question…I have seen mallard flank feathers but where do you get female mallard breast feathers?

    • @Thefeatherbender
      @Thefeatherbender  9 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks Scott, dare I say from a Female mallard! You can also use the chocolate brown neck feathers from the mallard drake. Take a look at the Welshman's button.

      Not being a hunter, I was actually looking for any suggestions on where to purchase breast feathers?

    Thanks for the great video. I really like this fly. How do you fish it and what sizes do you like to use?

    Very nice fly Barry. I am going to tie some small (#18-20 ) diving black caddis and was wondering what color you would suggest for the egg sack. Thanks very much

      The feather bender Again thank you pal, much appreciated. Just watched that video you linked me to regarding the thread so I’ll get it ordered today and a pair of these scissors. I like that slim point and fine blades. Keep the videos coming bud, only sub’d yesterday and have already got quite a few of your videos on my fly pattern playlist and have actually picked up a few different tricks and techniques.

    Do you fish those surface or subsurface?

    • @Thefeatherbender
      @Thefeatherbender  4 года назад

      Hi Dominique, subsurface if you need it to be heavier I tie it also with a bead head.

  • @marekbosak7508
    @marekbosak7508 4 года назад +1

    So you fish it on a swing like wet flies?

    • @Thefeatherbender
      @Thefeatherbender  4 года назад +1

      Hi Marek, yes but you can also fish it on still waters with a floating line, let it sink and then give it a pull to the surface...
