This is a nightmare. I set up the app in my old phone (which i lost) and now I'm trying to set it up again and I must approve from my old app. Like this is driving me nuts because wow.
Pretty good video, but just a little fast & kinda assumes that you know what it will do and act like. Would like to see some diagramming to see how this all works with different accounts. Don't care aboutusing the app for passwords as I already have a better app for that.
Once I add one or two accounts in to the Authenticator. If I delete Authenticator and install it again. It does not show all the accounts I have configured. I have already enabled I cloud sync too.
Do you need to have the app opened for the 2FA popup to appear? The 2FA popup of Google appears as soon as you've unlocked your phone, that's much better than having to view notifications and clicking the right one, and then when the authenticator app has finally opened and shows the 2FA popup, you'll click approve. Heck maybe you even need to close the authenticator app afterwards.. Do tell, but I suspect this is the case, as I watched a few of these videos and none of them showed what I want. So then it's not an improvement over the normal app that I already had, which has the same authentication as an additional feature
My MS Authenticator opens automatically when I log in to my MS account. However, for other accounts, I open the app and copy the codes. It's the same with Google. Google is built into Android, so we get a notification when we log into our Google account. For others, you must open the authenticator app (whatever you have installed).
If the Authenticator app tells you to put in code while on the app or it doesn’t let you you have to call the place your getting the code from ask for help and they should reset your acc and let you re do everything nothing will reset if you know you had the app before and erased it and trying to log back in this will wokr
If it doesn’t allow you to login and keeps sending the code to your phone and says it sent to the app and the app is already open, try using another device to login, then it should work. I used a computer and it sent the code to my phone, so you need two devices in order for it to work.
Maybe try turning on 2-factor authentication in your Microsoft account settings. Also, you will find the settings for push notification devices there. See if your device is added.

Microsoft accounts need an 8-digit code. If it is your Teams/Live account, that means it is a Microsoft account. If it says 6 digits, I don't think its a Microsoft account.

I'm sorry about that. When you add your Microsoft account, it is simple to log in. Just log in to your account on your PC/phone, and it will send a notification to your phone. Click "Accept" to log in. You don't need the code to log in to your Microsoft account.

@1:17 you should add that sometimes you have to click on your initials in the top right and choose account for it to land on your account page. Mine was automatically landing on my Microsoft 365 page.
