I experienced a similar problem with a similar laptop. 1) Taking out the battery, discharging for 20 secs, pressing start for 20 secs, with battery replaced, repeated 3 times, no luck. 2) Same procedure as above but did not replace battery, restarted, no luck. 3) With battery out, and power connected, opened DVD drive tray, restarted, machine booted OK. 4) Shut down, replaced battery, closed DVD drive tray. 5) Restarted, back to square one!, did not boot. 6) Shut down, restarted with drive tray open and bingo,and all is currently well!. 7) I have restarted several times now, always with the tray open and machine has booted. Closing the tray afterwards does not seem to cause a problem with the operation of the laptop. 8) Windows explorer does no longer recognise the “D” DVD drive. [See post by J Sundaralingam]. Starting the laptop with the tray open works for me, until the next time!!
Since one month my laptop sometimes didn't boot it turns on for a second and shuts down automatically again when i press power button at the same time power button seems like not working... but when i press random keys on keyboard it turns on....then again shut down... also sometimes its turn off after running .... I don't know what the problem... also I tried reinstalling windows 2 times.... could u help me to diagnose the problem.... when it shutsdown automatically i can't turn it on just after shutdown.... also sometimes after I successfully shutsdown the laptop and again when I wish to use it it didn't turn on....help me
my lenovo g500s laptop also gets stuck on lenovo screen and when i remove the dvd windows gets load ,i have load bios optimized defaults removed battery and all settings given in all videos but nothing is helpful and when i connect dvd rw it does not gets boot
It worked brother kudos... :) thank you ! Fellas turn off your laptop, remove the battery, now press and hold the power button for 30-40 seconds. Now put battery in place turn on the laptop , if there is no response , use the OneKey Recovery button ... tadaaa you will see the boot menu options... GOOD LUCK !

had same problem and tried lot of option in the internet, finally it started working by just removing DVD drive.
