  • Lots of developments in a very short amount of time and it seems like it will only ramp up... I don't see it doing less harm than benefiting us without proper regulations tho...

The top 4 aren't aiming for that market, they are aiming for corporate usage of AI, they don't care too much about the social aspect. The voice is really good for customer service for example, but also its an audio classifier, not a speech classifier, which makes it useful in listening applications too. The LLM themselves are intelligent enough for task management and execution. They definitely want users to generate additional clean data for them, it's really most of the low-level AI companies like CharacterAI that are targeting these lonely people.
I watched Ludwigs's video and I understand where hes coming from, and where you're coming from that this stuff is scary, but I'd like to just provide a small example of what the data Ludwig and you generate by making videos: Audio: ruclips.net/video/04NUPxifGiQ/видео.html Video: ruclips.net/video/KwNUJ69RbwY/видео.html&t
The 'pretty' generations like image output rather than image input, are trained off the exact same data as eachother.
I think this will do more good than bad, I can't say that it absolutely will be good or bad, all I know is that there are people using it for wonderful lifechanging reasons, while threes others that spread misinformation. Id personally choose the former, though you are correct, we should have laws in place to protect people, I'd say something like penalizing deepfakes should be priority #1.
Also, I don't think OpenAI even attempted to get Johannson's voice, it's kind of there but I think it's more of a mental bias that makes it sound like her. Here's some audio clips to display that:
    8 months ago, Scarlett Johansson:
    ruclips.net/video/Ox1CQo029M4/видео.html
    8 months ago, TTS Sky:
    openai.com/index/chatgpt-can-now-see-hear-and-speak/ (voice samples, select Sky)
    11 years ago, Samantha (Scarlett):
    ruclips.net/video/GV01B5kVsC0/видео.html
    May 13, GPT4o Sky:
    ruclips.net/video/vgYi3Wr7v_g/видео.html
4 years ago, Rashida Jones (internet thinks the Sky voice is her):

Omg dude firstly thanks for taking your time and providing these, I really appriciate it. I was waguely aware of the good this tech might bring especially to people with disabilities but seeing it first hand is really lovely. I'd be more than honored if my voice is also helped/will help developing this tech which is -like you said- a wonderful lifechainging thing for millions of people. But, just like both of us agree on, I'd like that to be done in the right way... I totally agree on ponalizing deepfakes as a number one priority.
Also, you're right on the "aiming for corporate usage of AI" I think I didn't mentioned that in the video so thanks for pointing that out! And yeah, it has many useful cases like customer service. I would love people to have more time for themselves and for them to not work because they have to but because that they'd like to... But in the current system, people have to work to even get the bare minimum needs to survive... And I don't think AI entering the job world won't be the same as the industry revolution for example. Yes, many people lost their jobs too back then to machienes. But it also created new jobs and at the end of the day, machienes eased our physical burden... But, in the AI case, it really takes the thinking part away in the most cases. And even jobs like prompt technicians or smth doesn't sound like they'll be very long lasting since this is a technology which can evolve itself...
And lastly, generated scripts, images, visual effects, voice acting, ideas and all doesn't sound very human to me. I see the wonders it can bring to low budget productions and it can also ease some processes (just like we already do with different kind of ai technologies in game dev for example) but again, I think it should be done the right way.
Whilst seeing the wonders it can bring, I'm still worried and would really love if the massive corporation spearheadding AI was still open source... I wish for the best for all of us. Thanks again for sharing your perspective on the matter dude, wish you a lovely week

Agree 10000000% ai need regulation as soon as possible, we’re already having scams where people get phone calls from an ai voice version of their relatives and people are already falling for ai images and misinformation, and it’s only going to get better (worse for us). I’m about to start collage to become an artist and I’m scared my future career might be nonexistent by the time i graduate. We just have to have hope that AI will be regulated sooner than later I guess.

We need regulation, because these people's stated goal is that they don't care if we die, as long as they get their agi girlfriend.
What the hell are they doing?

Just a question, are you inspired by Penguinz0 at all lol? Your video style seems similar, even your mannerisms and your minimalist background.

If you regulate it you are handing it directly to the corporations.

@@zakiyo6109 The government literally exists to serve its citizens. It’s their job to listen to us about which regulations we want and don’t want. And I want regulations for AI because abuses of it will harm people, just like I want regulations to prevent diseases from spreading. The difference between that and oppression is that we should be holding the government accountable for failing us in a healthy society, and in an oppressive one we aren’t able to.
