You probably dont care at all but does anybody know of a method to get back into an Instagram account? I was dumb forgot the password. I would love any assistance you can offer me.
Ray is one of the most sweet, humble, and funny musicians you could ever hope to meet. Met him when he was in Army of Anyone, pre-show, and he spent 15 minutes with us signing albums, talking, and doing his DLR impersonations. Awesome guy.
Ray is a Master drummer. He's one of the best of our time. I personally loved the David Lee Roth story. "Hey, somebody bring the bongo player to Starbucks, He's dragging." Sounds like something Dave would say to stir Ray up at the time.
I met ray last night and hands down the most humble, sweetest guys ever. He LOVES his fans and has respect for them. He’s just such a great guy. Wow . And the talent- one of the best !
I love this "How i got the gig" series! Im a musician myself and is very cool how life surprises you and you end up in wonderful places playing with awesome people if you let it happen and give it your best. Ray Luzier is amazing!
It's funny how (as he said) being a good player isn't enough sometimes. Yet him being versatile and skilled is exactly what landed him the job. Even to the degree where the rest of the band felt comfortable to take him on tour without even rehearsing first. Good for him man. Seems like a real humble guy and it's awesome to see people like that making a living off music.
Black Phillip yeah man I agree and something about suing your old friends “band mates” kinda hurts you deep. Rays the man! Dave quit and it took them a while to find the right fit. Rays not just a drummer but a master of his kraft a true percussionist.
Damn, he tells a great story. Could listen to these stories all day. For so many of us couch musicians, this guy has lived and is living what we can only dream about.
This guy is so cool. I really enjoyed this interview. David Lee Roth really knows the music business. You see many bands who sing great harmonies in the studio, then barely add a second part during a live performance. Strong harmonies are a key factor!!
He's one of the best ! That's why he can show up to an audition for a huge band like korn and Just land it. I saw he with Roth and korn and he's just really talented. Can't wait to see him again
Wow what a find. I heard LOTS of musicians talk about their careers but this is one of the most interesting down-to-earth interviews I've ever seen. Man I wish this kind of content existed when I was just starting...
Met Ray backstage in Detroit when he opened with Dave for Bad Company and thought "This guy has his head screwed on straight and will continue to do great things."
@@NevermoreNevermore... hardly trolling it’s true. Korn 28 years later still killing it. He was their second wind with Head coming back. Seriously is Korn 2.0. A band that strives for new things and has a drummer that is versatile enough to play any style of music they feel like throwing down on an album.
When Ray used to teach at MI, and he was still with DLR, I was also teaching at MI(bass). I got to play Hot For Teacher with Ray in the Hard Rock LPW. Such a great person let alone drummer.
He is such a talented drummer I seen him about 2 weeks ago with korn and he killed it. I only wish the best for him going on love the work and korn really let's him shine the drum solo at louder than life was legendary
He's a very likeable person. First impression: guy next door or maybe your plumber. When you see him play: genius. When you take more time watching his interviews and conduct: intriguing. There is a lot under this guy's surface.
I am a Van Halen fan/David Lee Roth fan..hence the name and I did not realize he went on to play for Korn. Too cool. Had I not been checking out Daves age on google(figured he was 64) I would have never seen this interview. Ray seems like a really cool dude and now I will go checkout his stuff on Korn...Ya, sadly I am stuck in the 80s Lol. Ty for the cool Dave shout out.
4:40 Ray speaks of this song some 20 years later the exact way I felt about it in 1995 driving around with my little Mitsubishi Eclsipe with a 12" sub in the back and losing my mind about how metal can have that 808 in it. Korn changed metal forever with that album.
I saw David Lee Roth and Sammy Hagar in 2002. I didn't know Ray Luzier was in the band at the time, but he did on a great job on the DLR Band album. I first saw David Lee Roth in 1988 when Gregg Bissonette was drumming for him. Both are great drummers! The Gregg Bissonette audition story is very entertaining. Worth a watch!
Ray and the comeback of Head are the best things happened to KoRn. It’s a KoRn 2.0 much better than before. Sad for David cuz’ David might be a nice guy maybe who knows but this new dude Ray, has recorded 80+ records, he is not second of nobody, in my opinion KoRn found a gem 💎, damn!! lucky bastards 😆😆😆😆😆😆
I had seen Korn here in Nashville AR Bridgestone in idk, 06 or so with my buddy Mike and loved it. Saw them again years later, same place and was just mind blown at the drums! Mike is a metal guitar played and I'm an amateur wanna be metal drummer that's obsessed with the instrument. The whole damn show I'm like DUUUUDE they HAVE to have gotten a new drummer! This this is so much more intense than before! Sure as shit... WOW! Ray totally stepped them up several notches! They wrapped up that show with the most killer ending of Blind that I've EVER seen and I can't find them doing it the same anywhere on RUclips. The whole band surrounded Ray as he crushed it and the strobe lights hitting to every kick hit on the blast beat! Can't believe that was a one and only. I'm gonna find it and put it here on RUclips.
I was happy when I found he was gone be there drummer. After hearing his skills on the army of anyone album I was like this guy is such a bad ass drummer!!!
So, I feel pretty dumb that I haven't heard of Army Of Anyone. Especially since they came out in 2006. But, it's interviews like these, where I'm watching the guy (Ray), he's giving off great energy and seems cool as shit. His demeanor, his vibe made me go check out his drumming and music. Being yourself is better than any paid advertisement that corporations throw at you, to reel you in.
Woah.. SO I looked up the "Kid" he speaks about. In the late 80's Make A Wish had a kid who played guitar and wanted to meet Van Halen. Didn't happen but he got to meet David Lee Roth. Here's where I think David Lee Roth is not just a genius musician but also a stand up guy. He meets the kid and doesn't treat him like someone dying. He's like "why me?" and the kid was like I wanted to play guitar with you. David is like alright let's do it. This kid was a savant, uber talented. David lee Roth is floored. Get his people together and asks the kid if he would wanna join his new band as LEAD GUITAR. it wasn't him joking around to help the kid out, he was like holy shit lets make music. They recorded a few songs, David also got him a record deal. Ray Played drums on that record. And Ironically, that's how he met Korn and all that. That Michael kid, you could argue Ray owes his career to him. He passed away shortly after. Lookup his album Black Glue. Rays drumming is super tight and on point, guitar is great. Not really my style of music but dope nonetheless.
I've been a KoRn fan since the beginning in 1994 I've been to over 20 shows the best show I've been wasn't Woodstock that was a nightmare i was there but it was Carolina rebellion 2012 was first show got to hear Ray Luzier play with KoRn and was show where Brian Head Welch played blind with the band and decided to come back but I've met munky head, and JD before , This show i met Ray and got a drum head signed by him didn't think much about after the show its one my prize Korn possessions along with munky pick and head pick Ray just has something that David didnt the ability to adapt use fills and make it sound like part of song
Ray is too underrated. He's one of the best.
hell yeah. He's smart, articulate and a fantastic drummer!
Yes he is one of the best among bests
yeah, but he ain't got the groove David have and Korn doesn't sound like Korn without David
It’s insane how good he was
You probably dont care at all but does anybody know of a method to get back into an Instagram account?

Articulate, humble, humorous, amazing drummer. Love me some Ray Luzier!
couldn't believe it when i heard him unvieled as it were, as the new Korn drummer, his drumming is just so fucking good!
Ray is The real deal- A class act guy... Awesome drummer..
Ray is a Master drummer. He's one of the best of our time. I personally loved the David Lee Roth story. "Hey, somebody bring the bongo player to Starbucks, He's dragging." Sounds like something Dave would say to stir Ray up at the time.
Agreed!
Had the pleasure to be on road with KoRn and i tell you this guy is fucking awesom...best dude and drummer ever..
I agree
Ray sounds like a great guy , great interview. Played with dAVID LEE ROTH , VERY FEW CAN SAY THAT
Just watched ray with Korn in Cardiff UK. I'm a bass player and yet I couldn't take my eyes off him. He's an awesome and effortless drummer.
I met ray last night and hands down the most humble, sweetest guys ever. He LOVES his fans and has respect for them. He’s just such a great guy. Wow . And the talent- one of the best !
He seems so down to earth for a guy who’s done so much. I’d love to meet him
The authenticity and humbleness of Ray is amazing. Kudos to you man. Keep rocking!🤘🏻
I admit. You can see, he is a doer. It satiates one's hunger. And you can understand how to behave to become not famous but unique!
*humility
Will Simmons... Very true
Ray is an amazing drummer ! Korn is lucky to have him !
Great to see a humble person talk about his trials and tribulations -you are a beast Ray
Ray was a great interview. Funny guy. Awesome story!
I love this "How i got the gig" series! Im a musician myself and is very cool how life surprises you and you end up in wonderful places playing with awesome people if you let it happen and give it your best. Ray Luzier is amazing!
His DLR impression is amazing
Ray is a really nice and down to earth guy. I have met him 2013 at the Musikmesse Frankfurt 🤘
Man this was a great interview. Ray is a killer drummer,. It was very candid. Thank you.

With David badmouthing Korn members, its hard to see him returning. Reunion perhaps but not permanent. I like Ray. He's a keeper.
David will never come back. And i don't care about him anymore because Ray is a fantastic drummer.
Black Phillip yeah man I agree and something about suing your old friends “band mates” kinda hurts you deep. Rays the man! Dave quit and it took them a while to find the right fit. Rays not just a drummer but a master of his kraft a true percussionist.
Very cool and humble guy....and one of the greatest drummers ever!
"Someone take the drummer to Starbucks, he's draggin'....".....lol.....gotta love Diamond Dave !
Damn, he tells a great story. Could listen to these stories all day.

This guy is first class in my book as a musician and as a human being (only going by what I'm seeing here). Very humble and talented drummer!
Great great interview. Wow loved it. Finally a good interview.
This guy seemed to earn his station. What a man.
He did the first Korn tour without a rehearsal. That's insane.
he visited my school once because his aunt was a teacher here at my high school
Ray is such a cool laid-back guy, with a drumming ability out of this world that is beyond the beyond...
This freaking dude ain't nothing short of BAD ASS!!!
Wow what a find. I heard LOTS of musicians talk about their careers but this is one of the most interesting down-to-earth interviews I've ever seen. Man I wish this kind of content existed when I was just starting...
Probably, the coolest 1st-person account of DLR I've ever heard.
Henry Rollins' story was pretty good too, but yeah, this was great.
Such a cool interview!
Met Ray backstage in Detroit when he opened with Dave for Bad Company and thought "This guy has his head screwed on straight and will continue to do great things."
i wonder how many Korn fans go back and listen to any of his DLR stuff. totally different styles of music for sure. but great drumming in both.
the 19 dislikes all came from david silveria!
And they were off tempo.
fuck you, korn doesnt sound like korn anymore without David's groove
@@NevermoreNevermore... are you deaf? No offence to Dave but Ray is twice as talented and gives Korn an energy they never had.
@@theymademedoit2003 nice trolling

It's awesome he gives Mike Hartman credit for getting him the David Lee Roth gig @8:30. Mike is my nephew.
Man. I love how down to earth he is. Such a normal and humble guy. His parents raised him well.
Ray - perfect blend of , techically, emotion & energy

Ray is a beast of a drummer. Extremely talented musician.
he is so chill. i would love to hear a podcast from him..

I love Ray! He is an absolutely amazing drummer ❤️
love his drumming.
Army of Anyone was my favorite of his projects
Awesome dude. Love his style of drumming. Thanks Ray, I've learned a few things watching you play. Great passion!!!
"You know that song?"
"Kinda!"
Right? LOL
Glad to have you with Korn Ray!
Another excellent JAMMCARD video!
wow fantastic interview and very true words.
Ray is the best…hands down one of my all time favorites!!!🤘
AWESOME to see how humble he is!

Key. Locked himself in a room and just practiced. But, yes you have to be in the right time and the right place.
Not much of a fan of Korn but I still love to listen to them because of this guy, he’s an amazing player...
What a great story teller, he had ne captived for 13 minutes and I came on RUclips to find a recipe...

Got to meet Korn twice when they played live here in my state. Ray is by far the most hyper, out-going and funny dude of them all. :)
Ray is one of my top 3 drummers.

They made a great choice hiring this dude. Talent and great stage performance
