I have bought two bottles of the EC B524. Absolutely love it. Appreciate the review
Same. I bought a backup after tasting it. Great stuff
To each their own. My palate was not impressed
Great Depression cooking with Clara. She was the sweetest lady. Love her videos
Of course we want to see a review on the Crown Royal Single Malt. We need a good laugh once in a while.
I just have to say I appreciate both of you guys so much. I watched Mr. Rogers as a kid and now I watch you guys as a middle-aged adult male 😂. It gives me the same vibes in a great way, really appreciate your review here as well. Two of my favorite bourbons and will need to try the latest batch. Cheers!
Larceny crushes Elijah Craig again. If larceny was 10 to 11 years old like that EC it would never lose.
The nose on the Elijah Craig went from comparing it to George T stagg to a bitter floral dandelion salad. Bourbon is amazing.
Highest proof ecbp was batch 6 with the old bottles. It was 140.2 proof 70.1 percent. Need one of those in my life!
single malt blind on friday with the crown👑
Yes yes yes!!
Definitely
Love to see these comparisons, thanks guys.
Always a good time watching you two and always so informative. I'm glad to have stumbled onto your channel and to have gotten my dad to start watching you guys along with me. Keep up the excellent work
Just got both of these in the last 3 weeks. I’ve tasted the EC, but not the Larceny. Glad to see this review!
I saw the EC B524 at my local Binny's last night for $80. Opted for the Green River Full Proof at $50 instead.
Green river fp is awesome. Ec bp b524 is great too. Im not a big ec bp fan, but this one is awesome. Lota butterscotch in this one, and none of that peanut funk
How was green river FP?
@@kerrmoney i like it a lot. Not too much a fan of the regular bourbon and rye, they are a little thin for me, but the fp is good
I actually bought two, and I'm glad I did. Doesn't drink like 117 at all, in my opinion. Sweet up front turning to flavor bomb on the end. No expert here, but I have about 40 bottles currently in my collection and I'm consistently buying. Definitely worth having two of them on hand.
Took the larceny over EC toasted barrel today. $79 🍻
Outstanding as always guys. I got a bottle of the Larceny a couple of days ago and love it. I'll be looking out for the EC now and heck yes on the Crown Royal Single Malt review! Thank you and keep up the great work. Cheers...
Excellent, I've been hoping for this.
Yes! Definitely want to see a review of that Crown Royal Single Malt!😊
looking forward to trying the Larceny B524. C922 and B523 are by far my favorite batches.
I have had the Elijah Craig b5/24 for about week now and I’ve poured it twice I thought it was really great. Caramel, red fruit, vanilla toffee all the things I love and I couldn’t believe Trenton said it went away so quickly, mine literally lasts for 3-4 mins crazy finish of some kind of candy I can’t put my finger on it quite yet I have the larceny I haven’t opened it yet though. Only because I got the green river full proof in from seelbachs and I was excited to try it.
Mine doesn’t!!!
Just picked up a bottle of Larceny b524, great bottle. Cinnamon and spice with a nice vanilla flavor.
I had an interesting experience. I got an Apprentice Batch Bookers about a year ago. Then it was ok, lots of folks hating at it but it did some interesting flavor flashes on the front, but had a disturbing taste in the middle and not much finish. I put it away. Got it out this week and tried it again. It has really developed into a pretty good pour. Not great yet, but something's changed.
Was excited to see this review! I'm just starting in the hobby and I picked up Elijah Barrel Proof B524 at an allocated event. Got it home and my wife and I thought it was amazing! Now I'm questioning my pallet ...
perfect timing i had Larceny delivered yesterday and Elijah is coming today. I feel they are always solid some are stunners and look for a second bottle.
I just got the EC BP B524 in IL last week. I think it is very good and I actually like it more than the C923. The C923 drank too hot and had a bitter finish to me. Larceny BP B524 is another good release. 🥃
😮
Larceny BP C923 is still better than B524 though.
B524 is the best ECBP I've had and I will definitely be nursing my bottle since I enjoy it so much.
Yes, Larceny BP is a 6-8 year age
You guys are spot on!, I couldn’t agree more!!!
I have the Elijah Craig. I haven’t located the larceny yet. The B524 tastes exactly like the B523 to me but punchier cause of the 6 extra proof points. Hopefully I’ll snag a larceny soon. Stay Shorn!!!!
In my area we only get the Larceny have yet to see a ECBP. I do enjoy the Larceny to me they are more consistent with proof points. And they do drink a bit warm but I am into higher proof whiskey. Enjoy!!
I had Picked Up the EC A124 and I loved it so much I went back and got a second, as far as the larceny, my local store only had the C923. Mind you this was about 2 weeks ago. Still a solid pour and I also went back and took there last one. "Shorn" 🤣🤣🤣
I agree on the ECBP, neck pour was very disappointing. I've given it a week to open up and for me it's gotten better.
In Pennsylvania we got the Larceny C923 a bout a month ago. At 126.4 proof it’s the hottest bourbon I’ve sampled. And Kurt is right…it does burn…but the flavors and aromas are all there…although I don’t get any of that cinnamon or red hot on the pallet. I definitely need to pour it over ice. Unfortunately I missed out on the Elijah Craig C923 so I can’t compare apples to apples.
I've heard good things about Larceny B524, I'm definitely looking out for it. I usually don't have trouble finding Larceny BPs, my store has some right now but they're still getting the A124!
Bought the B524 a few weeks ago. First pour was very sad and regretful. Next day I poured it over 1 cube of ice and it really opened up! It was a really solid pour. I won't buy another bottle but I don't regret it now
Just received a couple EC B524 bottles but haven't cracked them open as of yet. Looking forward to it.
A great head to head and a big surprise. Sadly I cannot get the Larceny up here, but hopefully one day. Cheers!
135.7 is my highest proof EC. It's a pick.
I was also a bit disappointed with the EC BP but then I came back to it a month later and I freakin' love it. A friend just picked up the Larceny so I can compare, hopefully.
Yes, please review that crown bottle, if Trenton takes band aids, chairs and tires with bourbons, I can’t wait to see what pulls from Canadian swamp water.
Yes I would like to see your thoughts on that crown royal.
Haven't had the EC or Larceny yet, but the Crown Royal Single Malt is pretty good. I think Kurt would be a little surprised.
Shorn - perfectly good word. Something trimmed, clipped, or shaved.
I have the three of each of these for last year and the first release this year, but haven't looked for the B releases... too many bottles on my shelves already.
Haven't seen ECBP b524 around me yet and only came across the Larceny b524 cuz I was vacationing in Knoxville. I enjoy the Larceny and think I ll wait for the ECBP C-batch in September. Cheers
Of course you should review the Crown Royal Single Malt. Don't assume it is anything like the regular Crown blended whisky. I have tasted over 100 different single malt scotches and the CR SM holds its own against many of the middle of the pack ones, and beats the hell out of the overly light Speysides.
I just got my first bottle of Elijah Craig to ever try. I bought for my palate a B524. Opened it and tasted it. I had the same feeling little flavor up front and then nothing. Oh Well!! Going to let it breathe and come back to it in 5months. Expensive palate dud as I only look for Barrel Proofs and Cask Strength stuff.
B523 Larceny was fantastic and one of my fav. Can we maybe get a short clip comparing B23 and B524 if you have both ?
B523 is insanely good. Glad I got a backup.
@@mattthomas291couldn’t agree more. One of my favs
I found the ECBP B524 a few weeks ago. To me it was classic ECBP with an elevated spicyness in the mid and back palate. It did seem to mellow out some towards the end of the pour. I don't regret the purchase but probably won't get a backup.
I dont think this is a typical profile for ecbp. Its actually pretty off profile. Im not a big ec bp fan, at all, but i really like the b524. Its got a lot of butterscotch and none of that peanut funk.
I've been enjoying your videos for the past several months. I've looked on your website, and I've gone through several of your videos to try to figure this out. What does SLB stand for? Thanks for all the fun/informative content you guys create. Good stuff!
SLB stands for strong like bull
@@The-bourbon-angler THANK YOU so much! I’ve been wracking my brain for months trying to figure this out! I will sleep well tonight! 😄
This couldn’t get any more coincidental. I nearly picked up a bottle of the Crown Royal single malt just to give it a try, but the guy stocking the shelf brought out a bottle of the Larceny, so I grabbed that instead!
I was thinking the same. With that aroma the taste may open up in a couple of weeks. Please schedule a blind with the EC. In 2 to 3 weeks. I would be really interested.
I like B batch of Larceny a lot. Did not like the A batch at all tasted like flat soda to me. This year anyways. Crown REview HYPE!!!11!
Absolutely do a review on the crown single malt.... something has to be last, and Kurt will luv to have a sleeper in the line up ;)
I would love to see a review of the crown royal single malt, I saw it was released recently but have not seen it on store shelves yet. Cheers!😊
I’ve got both. I like both, but agree that the Larceny is better.
Just got the Elijah Craig today with a double oak woodford reserve store pick from smokers friendly WV and the grandfather four roses obso smoker friendly pick in Awv
Love this larceny release.
Was surprised on the results of the ECB524, I really like it! I like it more than the C923 batch.
Yes to single malt review!
What glass whiskey glass are you guys using. I often see you guys spinning them.
would love to grab the pursuit united but thought it was distillery only, at least for now. Love the Woodford and peerless but wish peerless was just a smidge sweeter. Cheers
I had the B524 and to me the same nose as you all it was really good but the pallet was really peppery and the finish it fell completely off! Put it in a blind with A120, B522, C923, A123, and B523 and it finished dead last for me out of all of those.
You HAVE TO do the Crown Royal Single Malt review
Have you had Larceny C923? I really loved it, it is the only one I have had though
I miss the graphics at the bottom and knowing which bottle they are discussing.
Entertaining as always! Thanks
😂 they only trying two different Bourbons? It was pretty easy to follow
@@ps138vs2caviHey, it happens! I was listening in the background not watching it when they switched over and wondered which one they were talking about later on, somewhere in the middle of the video.
They definitely won't be going anywhere when talking about multiple bottles! Just left it out of this one because at times the discussion went back and forth comparing the two and I decided to forego the graphics to avoid confusion.
@@kylel1875 Glad to hear that. That makes sense. Just how it played out I guess, which is understandable. I just needed to pay more attention or rewatch it. Head to head format will probably always have back and forth
Lets see a review on the crown royal. I had an opportunity to pick it and passed
I stated my adult years drinking Crown Royal with soda. I would love to see the review of the new crown and maybe even included in a blind. I'm not a fan of the flavored versions.
I need to get a Larceny
Definitely need Crown Royal blind/tasting
I absolutely love the Elijah Craig B524. I'm shocked yours wasn't good.. bummer
Surprised kurt like the larceny better. Im not a big ecbp fan, but b524 is fantastic. Its got a lot of butterscotch, and none of that peanut funk.
I live about 1.5 hours from the Crown Royal Distillery and fully appreciate and endorse fun being had at their expense :)
Larceny for the win at my house. Nothing at all wrong with the EC though.
Crown Royal ... YES
I'm a wheater. Love me some Larceny BP.
I got ECBP B524 a few weeks ago. I think it's another banger, but I just love ECBP, even the "young" single barrel selects. It's punchy at the start, true, and the flavors drop more than some other releases (like B522), but it's still a buy for me. I might actually try an A124/B524 blend today. 🤔
OK... First impression, A124 blended with B524 might actually be better than either one individually!
Hey guys, love this channel. I’m on it all the time. Can you please do a show on a good birthday bourbon or a splurge type dram? Like under $200. Or just respond to this post? Thanks in advance.
Well, now I really want to know how that Crown Single Malt is!
5:45 I go for a shot or two of 190 Everclear sometimes when I'm feeling a bit sick, sanitize my throat
I respect tastings of two bourbons, much more than three or more. I’ve been tasting and once you’ve tasted one another one that you might love can taste extremely different
When will there be a Trenton home bar tour

Cheers 🥃 See you Friday 😎
I love the EC B524, have bought half a dozen already. Haven’t come across the Larceny yet.
@@Cosmos_Mariner - I really like a pretty narrow swath of bottles - when I find something I like that much, I stock up. It’s a limited release and they don’t go bad. Don’t ask how many C923s I have… 😂
Larceny is pretty darn good, haven’t opened the EC yet.
An old friend in high-school made his prom suit out of his dads crown royal bags.
Just bought EC/b524 tonight….haven’t popped it yet. I picked up larceny b524 2 weeks ago, disappointed with last 3 releases from larceny , but b523 was an amazing snickers bomb to me i probably drank 6 bottles
I have a Larceny b523 and c923. I prefer the B523 but they are both great. I will definitely pick any Larceny BP up when I find them for $60.
Where did you guys fine the Larceny?
Still a huge fan of the Larceny C923
You reallly should review the Crown Royal Single Malt.
Commenting before watching. I grabbed both on the same day. Larceny came off hotter and more of a one note. EC was smoother and had a lot more character.
Thoughts on the toasted barrel Elijah Craig?
I want to see a Canadian blind: Seagram's VO, Crown Royal, Canadian Mist, Canadian Club, and Caribou Crossing. I think it would be fun to see your reactions.
I wonder if the flavor would open up with a little bit of water? Do you guys ever tried that? That wouldn’t be another interesting show. with and without water
Add a drop or 2 of water to see if the flavors open up on the EC.
Hopefully the B524 opens up and is pretty good cause I accidently bought 2. Forgot I had won one in a raffle (and only bought it because I feel obligated when it's a raffle win at my local shop). The next week I was in a store and they had them on shelf for $63.99 and thought "wow, that's cheap, might as well get one since I don't have it"....completely forgetting about the one I had picked up the prior week as a raffle win.
Had no intentions of buying a single bottle of this at the normal price for my area (75.99) and then ended up with two for 65.99 and 63.99. I'll probably need to find a friend at bourbon club with a birthday coming up or something.
Man did you guys get the bad EC laser code, my B24 was great, I bought a back up. Haven’t had the Larceny yet.
You need to do an entire Crown Royal line-up!
Yes, review the 👑 SM.
Omg please do a review of that CR!!!! 😂😂😂
I know I'm in the minority but EC and Larceny have not been my favorite. I just choose to reach for other bottles. Watching this clip I wonder how the "hot spice" compares to JDSBBP, which I do love.
