    Kakadu makes a padded water heater bag for their version that fits the Bouge water heater perfectly. It has enough room for the accessories also. I kept some of the foam padding from the boxes the Bouge came in to make a nice soft surround for the propane bottle when attached to the heater.

    I bought the BougeRV about 3 weeks ago and have been putting it to the test at home here. I have been testing the water temp and charging when the battery gets low. It really does work great but the one thing the instructions don’t mention is if you don’t intend on using the unit in a day or two, you should turn off the main power switch at the bottom. If you leave it on the battery will drain. After a week or so you will find the battery will be dead. In one case, my battery was drained so low that it would not take a charge and it wouldn’t turn on, even with the power cord plugged in. After messing with it, it finally started to take a charge. I would say after using the unit, turn the main power switch off on the bottom. This will save on the battery. Keep in mind the main power switch does need to be on if you intend to charge it.

      @sempergumbie  10 месяцев назад +5

      Yes, I turn off my main power as well. I make sure everything is off and I also remove my propane bottle too. Thanks for commenting, that’s good advice to our viewers! Glad that you like your system!

      How long do you think a 1lb propane tank would last on this?

    • @hovlandbound
      @hovlandbound 2 месяца назад

      @@craigshandworld I'm going to say it will last about 10 or 15 showers. But I have to say, I brought it back home from the cabin because it stopped working!! The flame goes out after 5 seconds. This is with a new tank of gas and cold water going in so it's not over heating. Need to run more tests but I will be writing to the company to see what they say. Piss me off. Expensive and I probably have used it less than 10 times. Maybe I should post more when I figure things out.

    So,,,, I bought the BougerRV to replace the old Coleman that broke down last time at my cabin. I have a off grid cabin with only water collected from the rain off the roof into a large barrel outside that is gravity fed into the cabin. We are always carful of not using any more water than what's needed. The BougerRV has a very cool feature that the old Coleman does not have. When you turn off the waterspout at it turns off the water flow and also the gas shuts off. Saving on gas and water. Then when you turn the water back on the system senses this and the gas burner turns back on. Very cool feature. But be carful not to get the water temp up to 122 degrees F or it will shut of and you will need to fire everything back up. The secret is to have cold water coming into the unit. A big thumbs up for BougerRV

    Thank you for the video, it was very helpful because I was going to order one and don’t always trust the Amazon reviews 😂.
    Someone mentioned about the overheat shutoff and on Amazon, there is an excellent review that states what’s going on and how to fix that.
    As far as the gap between the propane bottle and the table, I am going to just use some pallet boards to make a little stand.
    Finally, I’m going to get the refillable 1 gallon propane bottles and the refill “station” to save some money 😊.
    Again, thank you for the excellent video, it is appreciated.

      We normally don’t run it constant, we take baby showers when we are dispersed camping. Or if we are near a river or lake then we run the pump straight into the water source and then we let we rip! We keep our temp about 70-80 degrees, I can’t use it more than that unless we are doing dishes to get grease off. i heard this thing sucks because the overheat protection is overzealous. it can't run at a reduced heat setting. if water is warmer than 55°F it'll shutdown. sounds kinda stupid.

    I've watched a few videos on this product and it definitely has some potential but a built-in battery is actually the last thing I want for a van built because I'm going to have my lithium batteries so the problem people have pointed out with the location of the switch and having to turn it on and off all the timeand worry about the battery condition is just about a dealbreaker not sure what this company was thinking but apparently not very much

    No where in this video does he show charging the battery. So far I’ve ordered 2 and sent them back because the battery won’t charge. Battery switch set to on and plug it in…..nothing
    I noticed his battery is almost dead. I believe there’s an issue with charging the battery that’s not being addressed.
    Bougerv sent me this video link for reference. The manual is poorly written

    • @sempergumbie
      @sempergumbie  11 месяцев назад +2

      When the battery is charged (it comes charged when you receive it) it won’t allow you to charge it when the battery is full. The screen will go off. People think that the battery is dead when they look at the icon level. When the battery gets low, only the red bar will show. Many folks confuse the indicator as low because it shows all levels when full including the red bar

    Your description does not match the sellers specifications. Seller says Li_Ion (NMC) battery at 2.5Ahr. You said 25Ahr LiFePO battery. There are tremendous differences between those claims. The "flashing" display is the difference between the camera's detection rate and the display refresh rate. I wonder if it can be used with a pressurized source without the pump.
    Problem with any Lithium based battery is that you cannot let it sit; it must be charged at least once per year or it will go bad. Manufacturers conveniently forget to remind the consumer that this neglect will not be covered under warranty. The propane bottle is a problem that needs to be addressed. Also, I am leery of the plastic quick connects that may break easily and may be proprietary.

      Did you adjust the temp and record it first? I always recirc mine and a low temp, there is no way I can run it at high, it would burn my skin off! I recommend being the temp down all the way, recirc the water and bring up the temp slowly
