that just studio gainax/trigger being themselves lol. its easy to get lost in all the filler seasonal garbage that gets pumped out year round, but theres definitely some real unique gems from time to time, just like always.

Only 6 episodes and while it might be confusing and over the top, if you can look past that it really is one of the most thought provoking narratives of adolescence, maturity, growing up, and freedom. And trust me there’s plenty of videos that can help explain it to you if you’re confused lol. Definitely worth a try though.
tbh for me it's just a goofy chill anime with an amazing soundtrack and animation. I just don't want to ruin it by making it super sad and deep or something for me

I had to rewatch it 3 times to fully enjoyed the show, but it was worth it. definitely an amazing experience. I didn't even watch youtube analysis videos or anything, but I had a lot more discussions with my friends about this show than any goofy chill animes like Daily Lives of Highschool Boys or KonoSuba. the characters are so well written for a 6 episodes "goofy" anime, especially the psychological journey and character development of Naota. Damn, I really love FLCL.

I love FLCL so much. I remember when I was like 6 or 7 chillin in my uncle's room, me and him just got done playing some resident evil on his ps2 when he saw that FLCL was on. So he put it on and we watched all 6 episodes together. Even tho I wasn't old enough to understand some of the more mature themes of the show it was still an instant classic for me. So now every time I see a clip or listen to its music I get a huge burst of nostalgia and an urge to rewatch the entire show.
I think people don't realize how aesthetically pleasing FLCL is, like most people think of violet evergarden, demon slayer or any ghibli movie. But FLCL has this lowkey chill lo-fi vibe to it that's just so aesthetic and unique! I've never watched a anime that had that type of aesthetically pleasing feeling to it like FLCL does
I love the focus on the incredibly grounded and thoughtful character animation of the series. It often goes unnoticed beneath the kickass robot nonsense

I don't know how I came across FLCL but since it was only 6 episodes long, I decided to give it a try. There's something special about it. I love the characters, the universe and the music, my god, what a soundtrack. It was january 2018, it was summer here in my country and I thought it fit the vibe perfectly, despite the anime itself happening during autumn. I remember I tried showing it to one of my friends like a year later but he didn't really like it, unfortunately. That's fine, I still love everything about this anime... except Progressive and Alternative

I've rewatched it twice now though, and honestly it hits a little more the second time around. it's frantic and random and weird and doesn't really make any sense, but the little moments it has in between all of it are what started to get to me. it's a pretty unique aesthetic too I think, and I will admit the soundtrack is killer. maybe it'll become a fav of mine after the third watch. it's a bit frustrating that you have to rewatch it so many times just to understand it, but I still think it's pretty good. a masterpiece? nah, but it is good. I think the reason it hits home for a lot of people is because they watched it when they were 10, 11, 12, etc. I watched it at 19 years old, but the second time around it still resonated pretty well.
