Everyone please, no matter your political position, please register to vote and vote on Nov 5! Have a great day!!
Im writing in Cy Swan!
There is no such thing as too big to rig. Keep an eye out on your polling places. Pictures and video of anyone going in after voting hours. Get faces and license plates if possible. American can't survive 4 years of the cackling c**t.
Trump 2024!
Most people are far too under- or misinformed to be voting. Let's not encourage them.
Kamala 2024
Sy is just a beast of a guy. I could listen to him tell stories all day. Both of you are the type of dad and grandfather that every young guy needs!
I periodically check your channel to see if you’ve posted anything new with Cy. Love to see it.
You can count yourself very fortunate to have a life long friend such a Cy. They, friends like this, don't come along often. Your blessed as is he.
Good Ol boys. Proper guys. Respect from the uk 🇬🇧 👍
Nice hammer mill. Sketchy winching.
Good Times. Cheers 🇨🇦
Nice to see Nate helping with the install!
I truly appreciate your videos. Good work.
WE WANT AT LEAST 2 KNIFE MAKING VIDEOS A WEEK WITH CY!!!!!
The hands on Cy Swan😮
Thanks Nate!
Boy Howdy I’d love to sit in the shop and ask him a question about his past, and let him dive into a story of his life. What a magnificent life he’s lived.
you're a good friend!
Looked that hammer up on their website, and it's only $14,250! I would have guessed 20 grand. Amazing.
Thanks for the awesome content and all the amazing videos!!
Remember if you lift with a pully by pulling down on the other side the load on the pully is double the weight of the load.
Great job guys. Thank you 😊
You fellows sure know how to have a good time!
I used to see Big Blu hammers talked about on the old Forgemagic forum. Miss that
Thank you.
I enjoy your content.
Happy Maxine, Happy Cy.. KUTGW
Sent that video to my blacksmiths friend. Cheers.
Not to your OSHA friend I hope.. 😂

You are so luck to have a friend and mentor like Cy
2:08 the fit up on that die is poor. I guess they figure after it pounds awhile it will match itself? You can literally see gap under one side of the bottom because the angle on the die and the holder are off from the bottom angle so the set screws don't sit it square. Making a slidng wedge aka GIB for the set screw side so it clamps down and square would seem like a worthwhile upgrade.
Can you do a update shop tour and truck tour and a tool box tour
Nice can be a relaxing hobby to make knives. How long you been black smithing?
I used a winch like that to get a 250,000.00 organ up to a loft at my church
FYI, unless you modify it, I would be VERY careful with the lower die retention "design". Sharp 90"s and threaded fasteners in a high shock / vibration environment. I've heard of several situations where dies left the machine and could have severely harmed the operator.
I agree with your observations ... The Die retention design is not a strong endorsement element. Hope all goes well for Cy.
I don't understand why they mismatched the dovetails that severely.
@@dumpsterdave3710 MONEY
@@dumpsterdave3710 They're not mismatched, the design is cheap and dangerous.
the poly rope was sketch, but otherwise no big deal
I KNOW U READ ALL UR COMMENTS. NO RESPONSE NEEDED. PLEASE SHARE A VIDEO ON THE NEED FOR A BUDGET AND HOW TO USE A LEDGER\ PLANER. ITS NOT TAUGHT AT ALL THOUGHTS ON FAMILY HOME AND BUDGET COMPARED TO ALL THE COMMERCIALS TO BUY
The polyrope confidance frightens me. It has hardly survived 20 years on the interior of radio comshels holding antennas vetical. We have also had an interviewee arrive wearing a polyrope belt; was equally unimpressed with its performance
Why are the top and bottom dies machined with dovetails but the powerhammer isn’t?
Because they are poorly designed. Fasteners... in a high shock, high vibration environment, holding what are supposed to be high-force anchoring parts?
2:04 It gets held in place with set screws.
Edit: You can see one side is matching the dovetails.
@@woody442 And when the set screws vibrate loose? There's a reason why 2x dovetails and a tapered one-way driven key have been the mainstay method of anchoring dies in these machines since their inception....
This design is poor at best, and WILL vibrate loose, as seen here within the first few minutes of use. Let's not talk about that sharp 90° STRESS CONCENTRATION POINT on the "flange" that holds the retention fasteners... That will crack and break, and has been proven prone to do so already.
@Boosted98gsx I never claimed it was any better than the method you mentioned. Still that's how it works in this case and why the dovetail is only machined on one side of the base.
@@woody442 because it was cheaper, likely
Anyone else having a hard time wrapping their mind around the idea of a machine tool in Cy's shop that isn't 80+ years old and cast iron? Not that there's anything wrong with it, just seems like an anomoly.
truth. I say grind the paint off of it and leave it out in the rain for a couple weeks😁
Guys. When it comes to safety please, please dont rely on Guardian Angels to protect you from harm. Keeping safe is down to you. We left the Middle Ages behind hundreds of years ago thankfully and just look how we have progressed.
