Oh my word what a haul: - some absolute smash hits: Anachrony, Brian Boru - some controversial titles: Bardsung and burncycle - mandatory catch'em all pieces - loving all the weird gifts (Battle History) and grail pieces (Rival Networks) Can't wait to see you in action with Kyle maybe on Anachrony! It has a really nice flow of you are happy to invest the time initially absolute solid. Please play it with just the base game first and then ease into Fractures of Time gradually. Enjoy the minis :) even more interested to hear Jeff's take on bardsung / burncycle - don't be shy! oh no :( one too many Cryptids... this review cycle will be a rollercoaster!
YES!! The new table!! I can't wait to see the new set up when ever you fully moved into the new house!! Also Glen More 2 and London are amazing games! I can't wait to hear what you think of Glen more
What a feast! So much fun lined up. Greaaaat deal with Fury of Dracula! I loved playing Stuffed Fables with my kids. Windward is great, but just keep in mind your workers' actions are limited when you read that your turn is in a way unlimited. The rulebook can be a bit fuzzy for some; not for you, I hope, but just in case, so you get straight to the fun with a bumpless read. A bunch of others I have in my dying-to-play wishlist too, like Anachrony, Burncycle, and Wonderland. Have fun, guys!
This was a great video for me to watch, as I can see first hand there are clearly people just as messed up as I am! I think they call it board gaming disorder. I've slowed down recently as I am over 500 games and am reluctantly realizing it's time to get rid of some *400+ cough*...we'll see how that goes! 400 is the same as 14 right? Math.
I keep thinking, "Man, at what point do they quit their day jobs and just play games all day long :)" Super excited to hear your thoughts on some of those biguns...like My Father's Work, Bardsung...daaaaayyummmm that box is big...It has to be good wit a box that big right? And Burncycle. Always enjoy your hauls, thanks for sharing.
Windward is that game that you always hope to discover. Great abundance of amazing pieces, great solo play, can also be played cooperatively and has nice multiplayer play. The game is very different from any other that I have played and could have easily been a whaling game set in the 1840s. My wife originally rolled her eyes at this game as I unboxed it but once she started playing she was having as much fun as I was. This game has nice replay value. But honestly, in my opinion, it is strongest as a solo/ cooperative game. Give this one a try. You will not regret playing this game.
Love the content you guys constantly provide! Thank you again for the videos and making me feel like I'm not alone when I go on my own Board Game Hauls lol. Please keep the content coming and can't wait to see your new setup at your new place!
Awesome haul, and this video comes at a good time, as I was feeling a little guilty about buying 19 new games last weekend between Amazon Prime days, Gamenerdz' Nerdz Day sale, and Target's unadvertised clearance. Big savings all around, but more games than I have time to play. But, like you both, this is my only hobby, so I guess it's okay. Love seeing your Unmatched collection growing!
That's some haul!! These videos always give me game board envy. The three you got that I have on my wish list are Glen More2, My Father's Work and Fury of Dracula....wow awesome deal too! 😃
Interesting picks Lots of games I hadn't heard of before... Except for unmatched and Yak. Also I got my eyes on the Stardew valley behind you and that reminded me that I gotta get this one too asap.
I think you guys are going to love Anachrony! Our group really enjoys it, even at 2 player. And the mini’s really add to it, definitely a must have. Enjoy!
My Father's work is brilliant! We are in the middle of playing it as our weekly game. Still waiting for the Android App to be released. (Can still be played from the webpage app which we have been using from the beginning - but that only provides access to the first scenario)
Anachrony is awesome! I've been playing it a bit in the last 4 years. I haven't touched the expansions yet (even though I have owned them for a while) because the base game is already so fun, but I'm hoping to soon. I hope you enjoy!
And I thought my 26 games in the last 6 weeks was crazy. Have fun playing. I just moved, myself. But, my move has taken me away from player friends. Gotta find some new ones soon. Games are piling up. ;-)
Nice grabs. Keep collecting those Unmatched. I need to play Cosmic Frog and Wonderlands War!! Ugh so jealous. We will have to play at a con or something
Jeff, I do think you'll like Anachrony based on a lot of your other preferences. It's a little daunting at first, but as you start to play, it makes way more sense as you go.
Awesome Haul, so many games !!! I'm curious on how many unplayed games you have :p Cryptid is a really good game, we often play 3 games in a row but from what i understood, cryptid 2 players is a very different game. I can't wait to see a review on Almost innocent !
I would love the deluxe edition of Wonderlands War. I played it once and Loved it!! Cosmic Frog looks really cool. I wanna get some of the card games to play on the ✈️ .
We will see what we can do! We don’t have the best setup for playthroughs at the moment. But hopefully when we buy and set up an actual studio space we can do more!
Anachrony is so dang good. Will be curious to see what you think about Pathfinder-a friend loaned me a copy forever ago and I’ve just gotten into it recently-I wouldn’t normally think it’s my kind of game, but have been having a great time playing it solo.
Anachrony is good and the suits are a necessary item but it can be a lot of game and adding expansions to it would actually hinder it from getting played by me. Too much to remember if you haven’t played in a while. I have kind of gotten away from expansions over the last few years as they make games harder to pull off the shelf when you remember how much extra stuff there is. My favorite type of expansion adds only the slightest amount more without adding any more complexity. Concordia for instance added salt which was simple then later added team play which is amazing but neither were hard to implement. Power grid added maps which change play but not complexity. Roll for the galaxy on the other hand added crap that I tried once and then only kept the simple stuff and never touch anything that adds more steps.
@@FostertheMeeple I know! I've played with them, which is what made me buy the game! I even reached out to Tim Eisner to see if I can somehow buy the chips.
You moved your entire gaming world into Jeff’s parents house? Whoa! Those are great parents. The big plus, other than mom’s cooking, you can play four player games now. Of course we will now need a top 10 from them. #1 Crokinole. #2 Parcheesi. #3 Bridge. Hehe. I’m curious of an older couples opinion.
Pathfinder ACG is probably one of the first games that I've bought back when it came first out (Rise of the Runelords) but it is one that never sees daylight. But I just cannot get rid of it, because I LOVE it. We've talked about it with my brother, that we should consistently try to get it to the table the two of us (once o month or something) to stop replaying the first couple of scenarios and get the whole campaign completed :D From what I've read, if you like Fury of Dracula, have a look at Beast. Swedish small team designed hidden movement game that, what I've heard, bests Fury of Dracula - was up on Kickstarter last year and will hopefully ship still during this year ^_^
I like Windward. I'm looking forward to an expansion for it delivering hopefully this month or next along with Age of Atlantis from the same company. Windward is beautiful. I hope you like it. Also...so many games. How big is the haul you've amassed since this video?
Jamie is always so excited about new games the Lama game for example. But only few games can transport the Theme into the game isn't there a lot of disappointment when the theme isn't there anymore? BTW Will you stay in Halifax?
My Father's Work is a lot of fun, super thematic, and the app does a lot of cool things, but it also does some terrible things that make no sense and have so far only ruined the experience for me. Without revealing any spoilers, the app introduces narrative mini games and story points throughout the main game. The problem is, the mini games affect the outcome of the main game by rewarding points to the winners while often penalizing the losers, but for some of the more involved mini games there is no way to know what the outcome will be until you have completed the event. They can also have downstream consequences five rounds later, but there's no way to know what those consequences are until they are revealed, so there's no way to prepare for them or avoid them. The story points also reward and punish, seemingly at random - two players can land on the same story point and receive the exact same dialogue, but one will be rewarded points while the other is forced to subtract them. Maybe the result is tied to a choice made during an earlier event, but the game doesn't explain that and, even if it did, there's no way to know how an earlier choice will affect a later action so there's no way to willfully seek a beneficial outcome, nor avoid a negative one. Rather than simply randomizing events, which was what everyone expected, the app actively swings the game while denying player agency. I don't know why anyone thought that was a good idea. This is a shame because the gameplay itself is a ton of fun and very satisfying, and the narrative events are fun and engaging - they're just too swingy.
Cryptid and Cryptid: Urban Legends are related in no way except for name. Don't let your dislike for the latter cause you not to play the former! There is also a 2p variant on BGG for Cryptid. It's a bit of a different game, but it's in the same deduction realm.

Is that a sabaton board game? I vaguely remember that coming out but dismissed it as a money grab/crappy implementation of an IP. I would like to see a review good or bad as it’s on of my brother’s favourite bands and just might buy it. Edit lol sabaton is a power metal band from Sweden. All their albums are theme around war. All their songs are about battles/ particular soldiers etc. they do a song about a not so well know Canadian soldier in WW1 called “ghost in the trenches” about a indigenous man from northern Ontario. I am not going to try and spell his name. Took my brother to see them in Toronto 2018ish.
Definitely no judgement here, a good proportion of your chat (me included) have what some would say are too many games! No such thing i say. That is one impressive haul though, i thought my convention hauls were something, i stand corrected!
Hey Jeff, talking all this birthday day stuff got me curious. I think we have the same birthday, I don’t have any social media so I’m not certain but if July 8th was the day then we share that day. Happy belated Birthday 🎂 and Bruce is somewhere in Canada 🇨🇦
that is some serious weight in games you guys are putting on your shelves, don’t forget this is not the last year of the planet, next year, and the next and the next years will be full of incredible games, and you guys can only have so much at home. but in case of an apocalyptic outbreak, something like a solar flare hits the earth toasting all the electronics of the planet, I know who to look for entertainment.
So fun, always love your hauls because it gives me the thrill of shopping without me actually needing to spend money....

Hey Jeff, talking all this birthday day stuff got me curious. I think we have the same birthday, I don’t have any social media so I’m not certain but if July 8th was the day then we share that day. Happy belated Birthday 🎂 and Bruce is somewhere in Canada 🇨🇦
Belated Happy Birthday :)
YAY SAME BIRTHDAY!! And Bruce has made it home!
What a haul!! I just picked up base anachrony! I’ll be curious to hear your thoughts on the game.
I’m sure you’ll find out on the channel at some point!
Sabaton is a Swedish metal band. 😃

Bologna is gross, but the games are cool.
You’re wrong on Bologna, right on the games
that is some serious weight in games you guys are putting on your shelves, don’t forget this is not the last year of the planet, next year, and the next and the next years will be full of incredible games, and you guys can only have so much at home. but in case of an apocalyptic outbreak, something like a solar flare hits the earth toasting all the electronics of the planet, I know who to look for entertainment.
We have entertainment for years
Why are you collecting so many games? 🤔 maybe to open your own boardgame cafe?
secrets secrets!!!
I don’t think it’s the table. I hate to break it to both of you, but neither of you is making it to the NBA.
HEY NOW!
Am I in the minority but I actually don’t like metal miniatures? I would rather have standees, plastic, resin and even cardboard tokens.
It’s whatever you like!! Everyone’s opinion is valid for sure :)
