My wife was in a car wreak and was paralyzed. I took care of her for ten years before she finally past. This song is almost too close to heart. " A hurricane thunder clap" is perfect description of her.

I don't have a sad story for this, but I think the way it was used in Fear the Walking Dead was phenomenal. Maddie coming in and comforting Travis right as the music gets intense and the slow zoom out and pan to the ocean is one of the most beautiful endings I've seen in a tv show.
This speaks to me on so many levels, such profound volumes. Specifically on addiction. So many people I lost to this. And a big part of myself I lost to this too.

It's so interesting how a song can really catch your attention for the first time. I heard this from Sense8 but after reading the comments, I found out it was in The 100 too (diehard fan btw), yet the scenes and emotions from Sense8 is what made me write it down. cool.
I see your comment was from 5 years ago. I hope your life has some joy in it even as you have changed as a person cuz of what happened to your gf and your own life. I still wanted to say I'm here too...in the dark with you if you need a hand to hold onto so you dont feel so alone...my bf was killed in an accident 3 years ago so I know what you may be feeling...
Well I'm glad this song gets the recognition it deserves- I haven't heard it in any of those movies/games/shows- I just found it by listening to the Antlers, but it seriously is one of the most heartwrenching songs I've ever heard..
Heard it in Sense8 last night and again tonight in New Amsterdam and had to Google the lyrics to find the song because the few lyrics I caught on the shows gave me the shivers. A superb piece of music and lyrics, especially if you have been with someone at the end of their lives. Wow.
yea - i can get how it can feel a bit abrupt the way it ends ----- but i also love it for this reason. the message is delivered. there is nothing more to say. he is such a great lyricist and singer. it's really about an abusive relationship he happened to have been in. i remember the first time i heard it tho and i took it literally and thought it was about someone who died and it just broke my heart - it still does if i let it. this song and their other track 'Putting the Dog to Sleep", both just break my heart. If you haven't listened to that latter track - do so - especially check out the live version from WEXP i believe - a great forum for some great artists - Alice Russell does a great version from WEXP studio of her song "Citizens" - both awesome tracks. take it easy.
Dude ditto, although the only change I'd make is at the end of the song play the intro chords once more and sing the lyrics: "I wish that I had known in that first minute we met, that unspeakable debt, that I'd owe you. I'd have spent all my time, just waiting there by your side, and at the end of your life, I'd just hold you."
I found this song from sense 8 a few years back. It's a deeply sad yet amazing song which I keep coming back to. Captures an emotional rawness that resonates with many people who've experienced the loss of a loved one. A realness that's sorely lacking in the vast majority of modern music
"I didn't believe them when they told me there was no saving you" thats line always breaks me. I recently lost my mom to liver failure. We thought she was gonna get a transplant and we were so happy, then the doctors pulled us in a room and told us that she wasn't strong enough for a transplant and that there was nothing they could do. I miss her so much.
i found this song on my own several year ago. a friend of mine and I just made up after a big fight and he showed me the song 'bear' from the same album this one is from and I ended up listening to the whole album. this song represents to me that our friendship was not a healthy one but no matter what we threw at one another, we both stayed and changed eachother for the better. I am glad tv shows are introducing this to others tho.
I recently just found this song. Not from a TV series. But just random. This reminds me so much of Father and late Mother. We lost her 4 years ago. I miss you mom, everyday.
Melanin Poppington What episode did this song appear in? :0 Ive watched the series and i dont think ive heard this!!!! but also i think its Monty/Jaspers theme-- what do u think? 👀
I use to listen to this song for its beauty but now the lines hit harder after momma passed. Having the call from my step dad almost back to back of him saying she unconscious and they didn't know if she was gonna wake up to 20 mins later hearing him weep into the phone that she was just gone.
I wish that I had known in That first minute we met The unpayable debt That I owed you Because you'd been abused By the bone that refused you And you hired me To make up for that Walking in that room when you had tubes in your arms, those singing morphine alarms out of tune They had you sleeping and eating And I didn't believe them When they called you A hurricane thundercloud When I was checking vitals I suggested a smile You didn't talk for a while You were freezing You said you hated my tone It made you feel so alone So you told me I had to be leaving But something kept me standing By that hospital bed I should have quit but instead I took care of you You made me sleep all uneven And I didn't believe them When they told me that there Was no saving you
Never seen Fear The Walking Dead. Found this song through 4chan a few years back. Been returning to this song all the time. For all those just now learning about the song, I really recommend taking a listen to the whole album. It's one big story and this is just a small piece. This band is truly amazing with The Hospice being my favorite album.

🙏❤️
😢❤️
Sorry but hope you don't mind if I ask? What does it mean to be "hurricane thunder"?
Rip and sorry to hear this mate! I can sadly relate to your unfortunate story. I recently lost my childhood lover to a fatal DUI Hit &Run.

13 years later, hundreds, if not thousands of listens and I still cry every time. Heart breakingly beautiful.
‘They told me that there was no saving you’ damn that line hit me hard reminded me of my grandad 💔
Reminded me of my dad I feel your pain 💔

im sorry. i cant even imagine
I'm sorry

Micheal scifield you are beautiful and amazing!!!
I wonder his state of mind when he wrote this song.
Couldn't find more suitable song to express my current feelings. I wish the best to people suffering from any pain and hope soon to get over it.

Its in the last episode of season 1 of fear the walking dead
wish i could say the samething but i heard it first when watching sense 8 then people said it was on the 100 I think.

I wish that their was more to the song. Hate that it ends so early

Well, the story goes on with the songs that follow; it's from a concept album.
Jurel Hornbeak I agree

It's almost 5 minutes long. What do you think is a normal length for a musical track?
Sense8 1x01 and FearTWD 1x06. :) Thank you for this song The Antlers! I love it. So intense and so sad.

Great lyrics and melody!

My dad had a stroke and paralysed
I was listening to this song in the hospital, they were very difficult days
I miss you, Morgan. Rest easy, mate.
Felt inspired and added a version of this song with rain on my channel, thx for this ❤🌪
FTWD led me here too. Going to check out more from this band. Liking Kettering a lot. Very moody!
I've heard this in enough TV series to just grin when it comes on. It's a great song, it's interesting how different shows take different bits.
My dad hung himself on his 44th birthday exactly a week ago and this hasn't stopped playing through my head since.. I love you Dad @puffnsumreefer.
fear the grounders rip Lincoln
nicole boring this was in that show too? I didn't even realize
Was brought here by Camp X-ray.

I'M CRYING FROM IMPULSE AND NOT BECAUSE OF A SHOW OR MOVIE WHO'S WITH ME? ;;
This is amazing.
love this song... great movie!!
Beautiful.
As a survivor of a borderline mother, I think this song is an incredibly accurate metaphor of the child's perspective.
That moment in Riverdale made me cry

it's an excellent movie
Agree !
Camp X-Ray anyone? Beautiful song for a beautiful movie. This is real music people!
Heard it the first time in the movie camp X-ray great song
I wish that I had known in
That first minute we met
The unpayable debt
That I owed you
Because you'd been abused
By the bone that refused you
And you hired me
To make up for that
Walking in that room
when you had tubes in your arms,
those singing morphine alarms
out of tune
They had you sleeping and eating
And I didn't believe them
When they called you
A hurricane thundercloud
When I was checking vitals
I suggested a smile
You didn't talk for a while
You were freezing
You said you hated my tone
It made you feel so alone
So you told me
I had to be leaving
But something kept me standing
By that hospital bed
I should have quit but instead
I took care of you
You made me sleep all uneven
And I didn't believe them
When they told me that there
Was no saving you
so damn good !!
Best song on the show❤
You said you hated my tone
It made you feel so alone
The 100😭😭😭
I got all giddy when I heard this come on on Fear the Walking dead because I had heard before.
