    I just took the FAA 107 test on April 18th and got a score of 90. No online classes. I just studied every video I could find on RUclips as well as reading various articles and recommended study guides. Don't bother trying to memorize online sample test questions. You need to learn why and how regulations are the way they are and how they apply to various scenarios. Out of 60 questions on the test only about 20% were covered in those videos and study guides. The test I took was made up of questions you could answer only by studying weather systems, METAR reports, sectional charts, airspace, and various regulations covering drones and some common sense.

    Took the Part 107 examination today and PASSED !!!! Honestly some of what's covered here was on the exam so study because one needs to be very prepared. It wasn't an easy test.

    Thank you ! Studying for 107. Never knew what those two number meant. It is not explained in the legend about MEF. All of the others were informative as well. I know this is mostly what the test is about. I will subscribe and continue watching more of your vids.

    If I am inspecting a tower in class E airspace and the tower penetrate the 700' elev. Do I have to notify ATC if I only fly the additional 400' above the town but no more?

    At 2:13 you darkened the entire screen, including the area you're highlighting? Was this an oversight?

    • @DroneTribe
      @DroneTribe  7 лет назад +1

      Yes, you are correct - the screen should have remained highlighted where the cursor was.

  • @sonoferin54

    OK so this example is almost exactly what I was going to ask you about here in Dallas Class B. So the inner ring is SFC/110, the second shelf is 25/110, the third is 30/110, the fourth is 40/110.
    My question is they all have blue solid circles going out many many miles. I thought we could fly as long as we are 5 miles from the airport. The outer rings extend out a whopping 34 miles. Are we not allowed to fly under any of the shelves, or do we just have to not fly where it says SFC ??

    • @Jason-ge4gh
      @Jason-ge4gh 6 лет назад

      You fly up to 400'. The class above you doesn't really matter if you are not in it. So the shelves won't matter.

    You were showing yourself, not the viewer. I was disappointed by the poor judgement in video editing. Objects of interest were too small in both space and time. You might be sitting 20" from a 32" monitor, but your viewer may well not be. I was sitting 6ft from a 32" TV eating, but I am often 10+feet from a 26" TV. There are some videos where you really need to be sitting upright in front of your computer (because of back problems I am usually twice the normal distance) but the content of this video should not have required it. You tube videos on a computer may not necessarily be viewed in full screen mode and may not necessarily be viewed at the highest resolution/bandwidth available. 95% of the pixels on the monitor were totally wasted. ZOOM in. Not with a wimpy 25% magnifier. Use the "Ken burns effect". My eyesight isn't the best but I can see a drone 1000ft+ away. I found myself having to repeatedly rewind. And many youtube viewers are blunt instruments when it comes to rewinding. For example the current version of the roku player doesn't support the instant replay function or the left arrow to seek backwards. So you end up rewinding too far and by the time you realize you have gotten to the section of interest, it is too late and you have to do it again. And on older models, rewinding often results in a crash and reboot. So don't make the user rewind because you put something up too small and too briefly. I think the narration also had a tendency to fail to define the terms used. Also, towers are supported by "guy wires" not "guide wires". And the symbol you suggested was for guy wires looks a lot like the symbol for a wind turbine but you failed to show them side by side. Even worse, it wasn't a symbol for guide wires, it was a symbol for (possibly intermittent) "high intensity obstruction lights". And that is the caption you put on the figure but you displayed the figure when you talked about guy wires and didn't give people time to inspect it. It is also hard to seek through your video even on a computer because the actual visual content appears so briefly it doesn't show up in preview. I think that you covered airspace in a different video but that may not be obvious to someone who stumbled onto this video. It wasn't the only reason the coverage seemed superficial, either. And you appear to be misusing the FAA sample test questions as teaching material instead of self testing material so students will not have a realistic impression of when they are ready for the test.

    Ummm... Eliminate your "Non-Words" . Ummm... Just be silent ummm instead of ummm making a nonsensical syllable. Hearing the non-word "ummm" so constantly is ummm distracting
