I don't think you want the 2 high strings ringing out open during the intro. That on the very 1st chord it's 7007XX, with D being the highest note that's heard. It sounds like you're playing it that way. I don't hear anything higher. It sounds good.
I SWEAR this song has to be tuned to DADGAD I don't know why nobody else, to my knowing, has thought of this or why the suggestion has not yet been made that perhaps the band used DADGAD tuning for the song which is my personal belief. Those who know Led Zeppelin - and how to play even a little guitar using 'open' tunings - will relate a little i think. Either way I still think this song by Collective Soul, The World I Know is in an open tuning. ust my two cents worth. Still this is a great lesson and performance. thank you. (but you're doing it the hard way). lol.
I think I might have got it... Thanks for the help dude... If you put it together I think people would appreciate its a weird strumming pattern especially for beginners like me
"When I'm on the D I like to play around a little bit..." Lmao I died when he said that.
My wife used to ride the D to work... All the way from the Bronx to lower Manhattan
LMAO! That's rich!!
You DA Man!!! Save me a lot a struggling on my guitar...cheers!!!!
Dude you helped me so much thanks. I play by ear so much better than reading tab but I never could nail the intro exactly like the actual song.
Thanks James! Yeah no worries man, better without tab anyway.. It's more of a crutch than anything ;)
You have a new fan from Colombia man, thanks !!
strumming pattern please and also how many chords into the pattern. besides that it was really awesome. love this song sooo much!!
I like this song and is fun to play. When you played it slowly it also reminded me of a goo goo dolls song - maybe part of Iris? Nice work.
Yessssss. I thought this song sounded familiar!!!!
I'm a huge CS fan, thanks for this. The strumming pattern is rough, but its like riding a bike
Sounds good! I like how bright that guitar is too.

Thanks Eddie! Glad you liked brother! Keep Rockin'!
Neat heads up. Thanks man.
Great lesson....Great
Thanks
Sure!
I picked up the strumming pattern very quickly...will you please reply to what chords they ALL are? Thank you for sharing 🤜🤛
Which Dave Matthews songs were you thinking of that have similar chord formations?
Hi it would be helpful if you let us know how many bars on each chord. I noticed in the progression you didn't strum each chord for the same duration.

Great song. Great lesson. Thanks man!!!
Gracias😃
I want to find a vid of someone who does the deeper notes and then it continues in the regular tone.
Thanks!🙃
Welcome!
This is a great, easy song..but I think the A string sounds better muted with the beginning and verse, it just sounds off when it's played.
this is bad. they are all slides. fingers never come off the strings....the slides are what make the sound
Missing the outro your vids are usually complete
If I could add to this... make the A a 7th. x0202x... Or maybe that's not a 7th but just a suggestion.
That's how I play it
Complete it pls
ARE YOU SLIDING ON A UP OR DOWN STROKE?
Arright??
Dude I just can't get the strumming it's driving me nuts
+dennis segall I may have some time to put something together for you brotha! hang in there ;)
