Your videos have been coming up in my recommendations recently. I thought hey I remember this driver! I used to have a miserable office job a few years back, and you always took the time to say hello, where I got on at the very first stop. Now working on the trains myself! Thank goodness for the glass!

DoubleDeckerAnton Anton what happens if the person is not on police registers? For example I’ve never done a spit test at the hospital and I’ve never been arrested, how would they catch someone like me if I was hooded (so cctv couldn’t see me)
Ryan Thomson Anyone thats commited a crime usually has or will commit further crimes somewhere down the line and if you don't you will always have in the back of your mind that the next time the Police catch up with you it will be dealt with so there really is no escaping.
"Drive the Bus" get some t shirts printed and turn it into a new London tourist gimmick, get another few with "Elephant & Castle" with the old London Transport logo on it, it should rival the "Mind the Gap".
Both of my parents were bus drivers and both told me that you see so many people getting on and off the bus every day that they seem like mannequins, most not even acknowledging the driver or the service they are providing for the passenger, so when I used to get the bus to and from school every day, I always said "Thank you" to the driver. With two simple words, their face would light up and they would go from this emotionless robot to a smiling human being within a second. A few years later there was a documentary on the TV about bus drivers and one of them said it only takes one "Thank you" per week to make him feel appreciated and carry on doing his job. It felt pretty good providing that one "Thank you" every day, more people should try it.
I’m a bus driver I don’t expect thanks, I’m doing my job. My thanks is my pay packet I never look like a robot that is the key to it all. Passengers are coming into my enviroment I am are the host we are the frontline face of TFL we suppose to look as if we like the job.
@@Fin_Ale You say thanks because you walk past the driver on single doors buse thats is the case in London on our single door midi buses. People say thank more often. Wow. I'm a former bus driver in the u.s. I never got spit on but I did get screamed at and threatened a few times. At least in the city and state I worked in there is no law making it illegal for us to get spit on. Only if they got physically violent with us. Most people have no respect for the drivers. I have all the respect for you. Especially in a large city like London. I hope if I ever visit there I get to ride your route when you are driving.
I've witnessed this alot lately in Australia, since they introduced the Myki card system similar to your oyster cards. Well since you don't have to pay now as you enter only tap on, many people feel as though they can just waltz on now and expect to be shophered around, then when confronted they hurl abuse or attack the driver. So my question is does this happen to you and what is the general reaction from both sides?
At least you have a screen to protect you unlike Australian buses where I live, hundreds of bus drivers assaulted every week and at night, it isn’t always safe to travel on a bus

DoubleDeckerAnton I hear you brother ! I am a driver in Vancouver, Canada, so I can relate to everything you do videos on . I agree , it’s a great job , I love it !
In my country bus drivers have what I would call a "half-cab" which partially isolates the driver from the passengers but still allows for example the driver to give hand to hand a paper map/schedule of the line to a passenger that asked for it or the passengers who buy a ticket on the bus to hand money directly to the driver without having to put it on the coin tray for instance. Unfortunately that also means anyone with bad intentions can very easily reach the driver to assault him (or her). But they have a retractable tempered glass window that can be quickly raised if needed and then it provides pretty much the same level if protection as the fully enclosed cab. BTW we also don't have spit kits in France but we DO have CCTV in buses and in many other public places aswell.
I can't believe anyone would have the nerve to do that! I'm so sorry that happened! At least you had the divider between the passengers and you though.

Bus driver are just normal citizens providing a service for travellers we respect you thx for the service to the places we need to go also they should put the cameras 24/7
we don't even have working radios in our busses and if people get on and refuse to pay the company will penalise the driver, not the passenger. had kids spitting at people phoned up and asked for the police I was told to carry on.
Hi I am a retired bus driver in Australia, This is the same on the Gold Coast, If someone refuses to pay it was company policy for the driver to issue a ticket and pay for the unpaid fare himself.
@@craigsinclair-tilley2074 we was the same we had a run that passed a football ground and their would be about 90 people trying to get on. You could only focus on the customer paying while others would bunk on then inspector would get on 2stops later I had it once where it cost me 45 out an 80 shift.
I wonder what is the minimum and maximum time off you get if the bus operator is assaulted in New York City Bus Operators gets up to 2 years off for it.

Hi. I have a couple of questions to ask. Do you drive for Go Ahead London? Where do you usually drive? What's your favourite bus? Have you driven a Streetlite and if you have, what's your opinion?
The Amateur Gamer ...I'm not allowed to say which company I work for because of social media at work policy! My favourite bus to drive is a Volvo! They are a nice relaxing drive and are very comfortable with plenty of can space!
Thanks for replying, I understand the confidentiality of your job. It's a shame to hear of such ignorant idiots spitting at you. What they don't seem to realise, is that bus drivers provide a service that wouldn't exist if they didn't, so they should at least be treated with equal respect, if not more. I don't know why I'm telling you something you already know too, so thanks. You've gained another subscriber too.
Sounds like a regular occurrence in Birmingham and I was on the bus when it happened a few weeks ago a women was abusive on her phone every 10 minutes shouting and swearing and I was like oh it's just the 11 route you'd always get people like that on there
I know the feeling, you must have been feel disgusting. Respect for you mate!.... I've been spitting 3 times in total, first time in 2019 was in Rotterdam, same person twice, the second time was in 2020 in Utrecht, all about not checking in with your personal chipcard. Some peeps are really disgusting.
I am a Freedom Pass holder, I was issued with it in 2007, I was wondering how difficult people with Freedom Passes found it to get given one by their London borough?
Matt Beardsworth ...I'm not sure myself how the passes are given out! At 60 years of age, the government introduced free travel! It's been a great idea since it was Brought in around 2003.
Nice video! Disgusting some of the people who get on buses! You or any other driver don’t deserve this!! But I guess thats just the state society is in i’m afraid :(
Interesting. Slightly off topic not being from London, so you are saying there are no fares taken onboard, and Oyster is the only means of payment? I do have an Oyster card but not used it in like 10years, but I wouldn't have known that. Also, could you not have got the identity of the offender from the Oyster "touch on"? (eg time and date would have pin pointed them surely?)
Oh god, thats horrible I treat bus driver like dignified humans like one time that on a fieldtrip when I'm in Grade 4, I offer him to get my chips(junkfood)but he declined.
Airplane Plus Train Guy ...that's nice of you! I've had passengers give me sweets but sometimes they want to get off/alight the bus inbetween stops and that's when I realise there intention! 😁
If he started coach work... He would no longer to be able to be called DoubleDeckerAnton. He would have to be called "SingleDeckerAnton" or "SmallerDoubleDeckerAnton" that's only if you have a double decker coach! ;)
My dad when he is driveing a school bus he doesnt mind music being played but a normal service he dont really like it but DO NOT SPIT AT BUS DRIVERS OR ANYONE
NO this is Patrick ...yes...music can distract the bus driver from concentrating on the road! School buses are usually louder as the schoolkids always are chatting/laughing etc....
Why would anyone do this! It’s not hard to say where you want to go, pay the driver and take a seat. I feel very bad for bus drivers. They always look quite unhappy, but i know why now. they have to deal with this discussing behaviour from passengers! Also, it’s not just spitting on buses, there have been reports of people (who are ususally drunk) weeing on buses wich is just horrid!
Lift channel 256 ...Yes...some people just like to be nasty to other people! They like to take it out on others! We as bus drivers have to not react to it...but at times..it's testing!
I am sorry for your bad experience Sir. Have seen some of your video and needed some advice . Have applied with Arriva to do the bus driver and didn't contact me yet. Which company is best to start , salary and to do the drive course . Have the UK full driving licence and have been in UK from 2 months only. Thank you Sir 😉
Apply online to all companies. In London there are 18 different bus companies such as Abellio, Metroline, Stagecoach, London United R.A.T.P. , C.T plus, Tower Transit etc etc... Salaries are similar. Some pay for night work and others pay better for overtime. Some give pay rises every year for 5 years. Some have top pay after 2 years such as Abellio. Some companies have top pay after 7-8 years. Learn the highway code and make sure you have less than 3 points on your license.
Bus drivers certainly do not deserve this!
Unfortunately its a common occurance far too many chavs on the buses wholly devoid of any manners.
Nobody deserves this.
In japan it would probably be unheard of people spitting.

I sorry this happend to you Anton. You was just doing your job. You didn't deserve to be spat on.😢 I have lots respect for you, you're a legend 😀
Total respect for you drivers.
I really dislike people who knowingly play loud music, it's very annoying.
Bus driver are just normal citizens providing a service for travellers we respect you thx for the service to the places we need to go also they should put the cameras 24/7
Oh very sorry to hear that. Passenger should get reported
Soo glad I don't have to use public transport
Abze Ali ...its not that bad!
I've only been spat on twice in 16 years!
It is a safe job compared to say a policemans job!
Sorry to hear about you're experience with spitting , i have just joined the bus service stagecoach in cheltenham gloucestershire .
Your good at story telling! That was actually quite funny 😂
What bus are you on / driving on this video? Looks like a Gemini 3 / Streetdeck
we don't even have working radios in our busses and if people get on and refuse to pay the company will penalise the driver, not the passenger. had kids spitting at people phoned up and asked for the police I was told to carry on.
This is not how you thank the bus driver.
So sorry mate. Absolutely disgusting. I just come across your channel. I subbed and hit the bell. Great content 🫶🏻
I wonder what is the minimum and maximum time off you get if the bus operator is assaulted in New York City Bus Operators gets up to 2 years off for it.
Jaime Pimentel ...I'm not sure Jaime!
Everybody deals with it in a different way!
I always come back to this video, sorry about your story but I can’t help but laugh when you say drive the bus loads 😂
Thats probably why he said DRIVE THE BUS... Blue lights were after him lol
Soo happy the police resolved it. Us drivers go through a lot, I hope this doesn't happen again. I go back to the buses after mat leave in January. Thanks for sharing this video 😊👌🏽.
Person: *spits on bus driver*
Police: *IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIITTTTTTTTTTT"""""""""""SSSSSSS FFFFFFFFFFRRRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEE RRRRRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLL ESSSSSSSSSTTTTTTTTTTTAAAAAATTTTTTEEEEEEEEEEE*
Bus driver: That took a while but at least they solved it.
What bus was that long single deck? B10BLE? Was that company transdev also btw
Man Behind The Camera ...it was a Dennis lance with a 'Verde' body. Originally 4001 to 4055 based in Huddersfield from 1990s to 2006 approx.
DoubleDeckerAnton OK cool, thanks
This is a pure nice person who deserves no more of this shit, still good vid 👍🏻👍🏻
Sounds like a regular occurrence in Birmingham and I was on the bus when it happened a few weeks ago a women was abusive on her phone every 10 minutes shouting and swearing and I was like oh it's just the 11 route you'd always get people like that on there
TheCarArchives ...yes..there are some right characters you see on the bus!
Some make you laugh and some nearly make you cry!
That is very true
Good job this wasn't in 2020 or 2021! ☣️
What u expect, the chavs
Lolol44332211 Rede ..yes...lol
WHO WOULD DO SUCH A THING?! 😡
😂😂😂😂😂😂 the reenactment was gold.
I wish you were in Dublin, lots of miserable and ignorant bus drivers in Dublin
True actually
I am very sorry, those people are gits
H11 Apprentice ....this person was a 'one-off'..don't let it put you off being a Bus Driver! Good and bad things happen to us all!

Oh god, thats horrible
I treat bus driver like dignified humans like one time that on a fieldtrip when I'm in Grade 4, I offer him to get my chips(junkfood)but he declined.
Airplane Plus Train Guy ...that's nice of you! I've had passengers give me sweets but sometimes they want to get off/alight the bus inbetween stops and that's when I realise there intention! 😁
You getting mad respect man
These bus drivers should be respected because they take u to ur destination.
Damn, Bus Drivers don't deserve this. I hope this dosen't happen at all or in New Zealand
Your videos are awesome always look foward to new uploads. Sorry you had such rude people you all do a fab job
...thanks Dale...😊👍
We dont have spit kits?? Do the cops have them?
Kenneth Porter ....bus companies should provide then nowadays!
If he started coach work... He would no longer to be able to be called DoubleDeckerAnton. He would have to be called "SingleDeckerAnton" or "SmallerDoubleDeckerAnton" that's only if you have a double decker coach! ;)
PTDriver 0429 ...Lol..yes...😆
I've been spat on 42 times in 16 years as a bus driver for First Glasgow. The public are pathetic.
Oh my god u had such a bad day, I really feel for you and more importantly those poor poor people that were deserted on that distasteful day in May.
When u was working in Yorkshire was Keighley the place you were working at 😂
It was mainly Huddersfield, Halifax, Bradford, Oldham/Manchester. But I did drive around Keighley when I helped out at Skircoat road depot.
Wish my bus had a screen. Greetings from USA, transit operator of 3 years
My dad when he is driveing a school bus he doesnt mind music being played but a normal service he dont really like it but DO NOT SPIT AT BUS DRIVERS OR ANYONE
NO this is Patrick ...yes...music can distract the bus driver from concentrating on the road!
School buses are usually louder as the schoolkids always are chatting/laughing etc....
DoubleDeckerAnton do TFL do school buses
Wow he actually paid, oh my god that's a story to tell the grandkids.
On one of the local buses for me (Arriva) there is a poster which says "Keep it down or turn it off" and above that is a picture of headphones
What bus route do you work on
He isn't allowed to say.
LondonBuses1503 he can
Oh can he!?!? I thought he couldn't mention the company/route/bus he worked on!
He can
Social Media Policies at the firm prevent him from doing so
2:19 casual rolls royce sneaks through
Lol
