I think one problem with many math teachers is that they don't usually explain the logic behind things, they just give you a mechanical "technique" on how to solve equations but they don't actually tell you why it works. Khan is very good at explainaing the theory and logic behind things, and this makes math much more fun and intuitive even for people who always thought that they "aren't that good at math".
As a 31 year old who had randomly decided to change his career of 13 years and is now doing GCSE maths for the first time in his life I can’t thank you enough, great simple teaching style and I don’t feel like a complete child watching your straight to the point videos..keep up the excellent work
oh my god !!! I love you !!! I'm 41 going back to college and need to take pre-test, I have spent days reading books, you just taught me in minutes !!!
I am an adult learner going into trades and having a hard time learning fraction etc. Thank you so much for helping out. You are doing a great job. Thanks.
Nah, I forgot it too. If I see it again I can remember how to do it. I knew it had to do with multiplying something but I couldn't figure out what. I remember the math tables though because my mom made me memorize it over again a bunch of times.
Thank you so much for helping me with math. I've done this before, however I never understand. Thank you for teaching me, I hope to improve more, and more math everyday!
I think that what you are doing here is absolutely amazing khan, at the moment I am doing basic math at university and I have learnt about 50% from here, 50% from my lecturers. He is a good teacher but it is awesome to have someone explain it in a different way :) i was so happy when i saw that my university actually recommends these vids as part of extra help, and i plan on utilizing these as much as i can including the physics papers that i am doing :D U ROCK KHANACADEMY!!!
Can I tell you something:YOU ARE AWESOME AND KHAN ACADEMY MADE ME GET FULL MARKS IN MY MATHS TEST AND I LEARNED CODING AS WELL! BIG THANKS TO YOU GUYS :))
I'm 42 years old and I could NEVER learn math in school - you my friend have taught me...and made it so easy!!! Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!
I love this man I wish he is awared by this nation, math ain't an easy thing to do but listen to him and watching how he explains it make a lot of sense.Thank sir.
34 Here taking a refresher for interviews and possible college assessment. Very fortunate to have found you. It couldn't have been explained simpler. Thanks.
Thanks Khan!!!!!!!! I used to always get them wrong but when I saw this I learned how to convert them very fast! I am in math GT ( Gifted and Talented program) at school. I thought I would never make it if I didn't know how to conver fractions. Thanks to you I am getting better and better at math.
These video's are great. I'm going to school for electronics, which requires a lot of math. I got lost in math early on in 4th or 5th grade, and of course as I went on through high school, I got even more lost. Now at 31 I'm watching these videos, and a lot of things that I never caught on to all of a sudden click.
I really glad you are explaining the process of these--dispite the fact you sorta forgot the process completly in the linear equations/other algebra segment. I'll be watching subtracting these impropers since I need it for exam.
thank you bro, I was strugging with this subject cuz their's so many mixed numbers, dividing, Xtimes.., adding etc, and im in grade 8 and we got separted in groupes and im in the middle not dumb or smartest, middle and i was struggling until u helped me thnx m8t :), im gonna subscribe
Same here! I'm actually planning to take a BS Physics of perhaps BS in Mathematics. I'm working as a programmer but my math is forgotten for 8 years since i don't have a college degree. I am self-taught, but I realize how important Mathematics is, specially in my interest and field of work. They are so kind to provide this for us, and help pave our interest to a greater degree of performance.
This helps (no wonder my tablemate is smarter than me he told the class about this channel and now I know why he got 30/37 on a pre-test for fractions)
Amazing!! My daughter began school late this year and missed some lessons that were thought in class. This has been great help to get her caught up! Thank you!!!
@Ianznutz, Im in college too and need help on this. The thing is by 11th and 12th grade in high school, students mostly are so far beyond this stuff that they don't need to use it anymore. Because they don't use it, they forget. In college, they make us go back to the basics again. That's why we need this help. Imagine having to remember basic stuff from 8, 9 or 10 years ago, it's not easy. Actually if your in fifth grade,, 10 years is almost your entire life, think about it.
thnx a lot. I went through school, just scrapping my way though maths, but now at college I want to do some serious maths so i am learning everything from scratch and your 10 minutes videos are helping me learn what I shud have learn't from 12 years in school
Thank you so much for your help!!!! My son was confused and when we watched your video he and I understood so easily. Please make more videos like this, u
Omg thank you!! I didn't know to how to do this because I'm to lazy in school and I thought to myself will I even pass 5th grade?? Fractions was so hard but now I under stand how to do this thank you!!
ok im a freshman at a community college. i failed the math part on the entrance exam and was placed in remedial math. i took the exit exam to get out of the class and failed it. now im retaking it tomorrow and your really helping! why didnt i do this sooner!

John Wilson Wow.. i would think this is one of those things that you just cannot forget unless you try... something like addition
