3 years and I’m finally over her today, the feeling is freeing. I was with her just under a year. At the beginning, everything was perfect. Later she was suicidal and abusive. Once she told me I was one of the only things in the world stopping her from ending herself, a hell of a weight to put on a 19 year old. If had never met her, she probably wouldn’t be around today, but she’d never admit it. I put up with it all because of what she was going through, the loss of her Dad and her Grandmas suicide. Up until that point we were the only 3 people that had ever truly loved her. I wanted to give her everything but after so much abuse from her end it was never enough. She was terrified that I was going to leave her, so she tried to slowly break down my self esteem so that I’d never leave. All it did was create the reason we broke up. I asked to be treated with respect, she wouldn’t admit her wrongs and lashed out. After we broke up she stalked me on one occasion. Every Saturday she’d get drunk and send me paragraphs of abuse telling that I was the worst person on earth. She couldn’t understand how we had ended things, so she lied to herself and claimed that I’d cheated on her, so instead of feeling as though she lost me she could hate me instead. This week I finally forgave her. For 3 years the memories of that experience haunted me. I’ve had other girlfriends but everything fell through over time. That experience made me the person I am today. I’m not angry anymore. You never apologised for what you did and for the happiness you robbed from me. Your suicide attempts and abuse made me hurt like nothing else. But I’ve been okay for a long time now and I’ve moved on with my life. I’m building myself up again Indi, you weren’t a good person, but I forgive you, and I hope you find happiness

We became a couple... for about 2 years. Then... She wanted to go to her country (Colombia) to study and find work. I let her go because I thought she was coming back and I didn't want to be THAT type of boyfriend who doesn't let his girlfriend do stuff... Well, a few months later she said that she was going to stay and... That she met someone else... She blocked me 2 times because the new boyfriend didn't like me talking to her and when she blocked the second time... I was done. "Ok, that's how you wanted? Fine! Thanks for letting me know". I blocked her in every way and I haven't spoken to her ever since. I thing it was halfway 2019 the last time I think. It hurt, but I can't have her in my life anymore. But you have no idea what you are talking about, depression is often caused by biological issues such as hormone imbalances it is no one's fault if someone is feeling suicidal. Some people are more genetically disposed to such behaviours than others. Also you seem to be talking with near certainty about things you frankly have no way of knowing. Feelings don't come from your heart just so ya know. While I agree that suicide is almost never a reasonable solution, it's a better to not recommend solutions based on such a small amount of data as you'll cause more harm than good.

Clinical depression is a medical issue it's not just a feeling, if you really have it I suggest you see a medical professional about it if you have not already. It could be something as simple as hormone imbalances based on diet or it could be something genetic. Personal experience is not as important as scientific consensus and critical thinking based on that.

Dude i iust discovered this group right now because i listen to three days grace for 10 years and i saw that matt was the singer in here as well!!
3 years and I’m finally over her today, the feeling is freeing. I was with her just under a year. At the beginning, everything was perfect. Later she was suicidal and abusive. Once she told me I was one of the only things in the world stopping her from ending herself, a hell of a weight to put on a 19 year old. If had never met her, she probably wouldn’t be around today, but she’d never admit it. I put up with it all because of what she was going through, the loss of her Dad and her Grandmas suicide. Up until that point we were the only 3 people that had ever truly loved her. I wanted to give her everything but after so much abuse from her end it was never enough. She was terrified that I was going to leave her, so she tried to slowly break down my self esteem so that I’d never leave. All it did was create the reason we broke up. I asked to be treated with respect, she wouldn’t admit her wrongs and lashed out. After we broke up she stalked me on one occasion. Every Saturday she’d get drunk and send me paragraphs of abuse telling that I was the worst person on earth. She couldn’t understand how we had ended things, so she lied to herself and claimed that I’d cheated on her, so instead of feeling as though she lost me she could hate me instead.
This week I finally forgave her. For 3 years the memories of that experience haunted me. I’ve had other girlfriends but everything fell through over time. That experience made me the person I am today. I’m not angry anymore. You never apologised for what you did and for the happiness you robbed from me. Your suicide attempts and abuse made me hurt like nothing else. But I’ve been okay for a long time now and I’ve moved on with my life. I’m building myself up again

@@15bellb Wow! It's been long... Well, like a soap opera... I'll explain and I'll try to be "short"... I ended up been depressed and did some traveling and voluntary work. After... 2 years, we still talked, but very little... One day she says to me that she broke up with that jerk and wanted to see me. And because I was so in love... We ended up dating. We became a couple... for about 2 years. Then... She wanted to go to her country (Colombia) to study and find work. I let her go because I thought she was coming back and I didn't want to be THAT type of boyfriend who doesn't let his girlfriend do stuff... Well, a few months later she said that she was going to stay and... That she met someone else... She blocked me 2 times because the new boyfriend didn't like me talking to her and when she blocked the second time... I was done. "Ok, that's how you wanted? Fine! Thanks for letting me know". I blocked her in every way and I haven't spoken to her ever since. I thing it was halfway 2019 the last time I think. It hurt, but I can't have her in my life anymore.

But you have no idea what you are talking about, depression is often caused by biological issues such as hormone imbalances it is no one's fault if someone is feeling suicidal. Some people are more genetically disposed to such behaviours than others. Also you seem to be talking with near certainty about things you frankly have no way of knowing. Feelings don't come from your heart just so ya know. While I agree that suicide is almost never a reasonable solution, it's a better to not recommend solutions based on such a small amount of data as you'll cause more harm than good.

By small amount of data I meant that you have no idea why she feels that way which is true. All you know is that she felt suicidal after breaking up with her ex. Clinical depression is a medical issue it's not just a feeling, if you really have it I suggest you see a medical professional about it if you have not already. It could be something as simple as hormone imbalances based on diet or it could be something genetic. Personal experience is not as important as scientific consensus and critical thinking based on that.
