    I am 19 now. In the past 2 years I have experienced terrible decrease in eyesight. I used to see clearly upto a distance 1-1.5m and beyond that it wasn't too blurry. But now I can't even see clearly beyond my elbow(10-15cm), I can't see my fingers when I stretch my arm😔

    Hello, when you say "using glasses does not cause your myopia increase", can you put a link to a recent study please ? Because i read a study who confirm the opposite. In 60min, the axial length elongation increase (so for me that means a higher myopia). Thanks and happy new year.

      Excellent comment. Here are 2 studies. One is a study that showed that under correction causes increased myopia. The other is a review of a few studies in which most indictated that undercorrecting caused increase myopia but they concluded that the more research is required. I am curious about the study that you said that indicated the opposite. Perhaps a good topic for a future episode. www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0042698902002584?via%3Dihub

    What can be done about dry eye as a result of wearing what’s Ortho k soft and hard lenses?
    My granddaughter experienced pain and extreme dry eye with the hard lenses. We switched to the soft, no pain but dry eye.. we are in the USA

    • @GoodOptometryMorning
      @GoodOptometryMorning  3 месяца назад +1

      if dry eye with OrthoK is an issue the soft lenses woudl be an option. You could also add atropine.

    Bruh what? If you wear distance glasses for closeup, it makes it worse. Just wear differentials or nothing for closeup and then even distance can be a little less and do active focusing
    So yeah just do endmyopia
    Why would you use atropine to force the ciliary muscle to relax when you can just not do the things that cause it to tense up in the first place? IE: eliminating closeup and only wearing the diopters that you need

    Hi Doctor, how about progression in a mature adult? In fact I remember that when I was 20 I was only -1.00 but when I was 29 I was -1.50 and then when I was 33, I was -2.00. Why looks like my progression in adult was quicker than the time when I was a kid? I didn't have any lifestyle change in fact I read more books and tv and internet when I was a kid, and I entered university and finished my degree so my eyes were more stressed at that time, and as an adult I have never worked any computing or programming jobs and I am never addicted to mobile phones. I do not understand

    Do not wear contacts. Do not wear minus prescription lenses to read. Your eyes are not getting weak, they are becoming muscle bound and losing range of motion. Use reading glasses with plus lenses to reduce eye stress.
