    ...why old engine designs looks so much more reliable than new stuff we see today ? It seems every single part of engine is easy to access and fix, and it looks like, overbuilt to last if i may say..just by watching this video, seems to be so obvious what each part function is, while engines today require you to have PhD from astrophysics, just to change valves or diagnose something..

    Ik vroeg me af waarom hebben cylinders een klep in het midden die niet beweegt tijdens het draaien?

    • @Onderzoeker67
      @Onderzoeker67  8 лет назад

      +pcuser80 Dat zijn de startluchtkleppen. Aan het begin van het filmpje is te zien dat bij deze motor niet alle cilinders zo'n klep hebben, maar alleen de cilinders 4, 5 en 6. Via deze kleppen wordt startlucht toegelaten tijdens het starten.

    • @Onderzoeker67
      @Onderzoeker67  8 лет назад

      +pcuser80 Klopt! Waarschijnlijk met voorsprong de meest gebruikte methode om een grote dieselmotor te starten. De startlucht wordt onder een druk van enkele tientallen bar (± tussen 20 en 35 bar) opgeslagen in luchtflessen. Deze worden meestal gevuld met een losse of door de motor gedreven compressor, soms ook door één cilinder van de dieselmotor. De inspuiting van die cilinder wordt dan stop gezet en met de samengeperste lucht van de compressieslag wordt de fles op druk gebracht.

    waarvoor is de 3e klep ?

    • @Onderzoeker67
      @Onderzoeker67  9 лет назад

      Op cilinder 4, 5 en 6 zit een startklep. Deze motor moet dus nog in de juiste stand getornd worden omdat niet alle cilinders zo'n klep hebben.

    • @MrBugsier5
      @MrBugsier5 9 лет назад +1

      Onderzoeker67 dat is niet waar, in principe zijn ze alle 120 graden verdraaid dus zal er altijd 1 van de cilinders goed staan, tydens het aanzetten nemen de kleppen elkaar over, dus je kan doorstarten.(het is een 6 cilinder) werkt het zelfde als mijn Deutz 428, de kans dat hij in een dode slag staat is nihil, het tornen voor het starten is om de oliefilm in stand te krijgen, daarna starten ze met de indicateur kranen oen, om hydrolock te voorkomen, daarna kranen dicht en starten.

    • @Onderzoeker67
      @Onderzoeker67  9 лет назад

      MrBugsier5 Dat klopt, maar 1 van de 3 cilinders met een startklep zal in een positie net na BDP getornd moeten worden, anders komt de motor niet weg. 3 cilinders is te weinig, vanaf 5 a 6 cilinders is op stand zetten niet meer nodig.

    • @MrBugsier5
      @MrBugsier5 9 лет назад +1

      nogmaals , dat is niet waar!, als de machine zonder compressie verlies stopt zal hij altijd op 1 cilinder voorbij bdp staan, en hoef je niet op tijd te zetten!, mijn deutz 428 heeft ook zo,n systeem, word op 3 cilinders gestart, hoef ik echt niet op tijd te zetten, als er een cilinder door het bdp staat geeft die startklep lucht, niet alleen de eerste paar graden na bdp, maar bijna de helft van de slag.

    • @Onderzoeker67
      @Onderzoeker67  9 лет назад

      MrBugsier5
      Deze 6 cilinder motor heeft de volgende verbrandingsvolgorde: 1-5-3-6-2-4.
      Het is een viertakt motor, dus de arbeidsslagen vinden elke 120° omwenteling van de krukas plaats, op: 0° - 120° - 240° - 360° - 480° en 600°. Op 720° (precies 2 krukasomwentelingen verder) begint de cyclus overnieuw met cilinder 1.
      Als wij de motor op stand zetten op cilinder 5 en met startlucht op gang brengen, dan komt tijdens het starten na 120° cilinder 3 langs. Maar die heeft geen startklep! Vervolgens na 240° passeert nummer 6 het BDP, deze heeft wel een startklep. Cilinder 5 is dan alweer ruim het ODP op 180° gepasseerd en onderweg naar boven.
      Als je dan ook nog bedenkt dat de startluchtklep niet de volledige arbeidsslag open staat (ik vermoed zo’n 130°), dan is het niet moeilijk te begrijpen dat er dus 110° van de krukasomwenteling (240° - 130°) geen aandrijving is door de startlucht. Bij elke startpoging in dit gebied blijft de motor dus gewoon stil staan!

      +Khadijah Brown I was teasing you a bit... ;-) The rocker arms of this engine are lubricated by hand; before every start and every now and then when running. At 6:38 you can see the red oilcan which is used for that purpose.

    I don't like engine museums. To me, there's nothing sadder than a machine that serves no purpose :( Same with car museums :(

      There's nothing sadder to me than this need for "purpose". The best reason for anything is the joy of it. Purpose can be an element of that but a small element. Our "purpose driven" lives are ruining humanity and driving us collectively insane.
