I have hugged several beloved pets as their Journey ended and I'm trying my hardest to understand and not judge people who can drop an animal off and not stay there with them and hold them to the very last minute. There is nothing in this world as painful but also comforting as watching a suffering pet relieved of their pain. I know there are times when people can't be there and at the same time know animals well enough that any human voice or Gentle Touch will bring them an enormous amount of peace in Comfort at that time. So to the author of this thread and the others that have been there with these pets while they make their way to the Rainbow Bridge blessings in abundance and great big hugs.

When I had to let my best boy go to the Rainbow Bridge I kept it together until his little heart stopped beating. Then I hugged his body to my chest and fell to the vet's exam room floor, sobbing. I've never recovered from saying goodbye to the most wonderful cat in the world; I know other human companions of adored animals understand.
Thank you, Hana Behl, for the kindness you give to us and our fur-persons.

As a tech, what killed me modt was the owners that couldnt be there for their last appointment. They just wanted their person, and they were stuck with me. I would try as much as i could to make it pleasant as i could for them, but i just never felt like it was the same. Part of me just wanted to yell at the owners-how dare you leave this animal to be abandoned by THEIR best friends in their time of need?
This is why it KILLS me when people say techs and vets are just in it for the money.. even the vets dont make much compared to their massive loans. And here i was a tech barely making above minimum wages.. where is this crazy money im doing it for? No, i was losing a piece of me every day AND barely paying my bills and having to rely on a spouses income to survive. But sure, yall (no one here, just bs in fb groups) people keep thinking we are just in it for money. Its no wonder it has one of the highest self-ending rates.. one of the vets i worked with lost his life to it-he was only 30. You give your all and more, and people think youre still money grubbing. /endrant
Im getting close to making this decision for my YOUNGEST pet and my 2nd ever dog (i still have my first), and its been killing me thinking about this. I would never dare leave them alone. Unless im in the hospital myself, i WILL always be there.

  • @LilianGarzon

Both of the dog stories just melted my heart. The first one was cute and made me very happy that the lady didn’t lose her dog, but the second one broke my heart in a thousand pieces… I felt one of the deepest pains of my life when I put my oldest cat down and I wasn’t even hugging her. The vet didn’t tell me anything special about this last part of the procedure, so I didn’t know if I could hold her close to me or leave her in the table, as she was already sedated. So, if any of you guys need to pass throw a similar situation, make sure you comfort your pet as much as you can - even if he/she is not conscious. It will probably make a lot of difference in the way you face the situation, seriously.

Almost cried at the apron removal. As someone who has always been thin and struggled with anorexia (where people often told me they wish they looked like me at 20 lbs underweight so weirdly my ED was idolized and my recovery has been kind of been seen as "letting myself go" even though I'm still a normal weight and eating healthy) I can't imagine the emotional struggle of going through that. Knowing you've done so much work but your past is physically still attached to you. Much love to her and I hope she get everything she wants from her removal and from life. As a former x ray tech, it's interesting to see some things haven't changed. I also wanted to say the techs want the baby/child to continue to cry. It's not because they are being cruel. It's to get that deep inspiration for the chest x ray. Babies/infants will cry and cry, stop for a few seconds, take in a real deep breath, and then start crying again. The tech is waiting to "capture" that deep breath on the final x ray. Babies/infants don't exactly follow directions. You have to get "creative" to get the results the physician wants.

As I have said, I physically disabled from an illness I had at the age of three months. I always had two surgeons for my hand, an orthopedic surgeon and a plastic surgeon. When I was finally booked for surgery by the plastic surgeon, both doctors saw me at the same time and they were discussing on how to proceed before I went to the OR. I think the operation was a little challenging. It did not bother me that both surgeons were discussing the best way to approach the situation, in fact it it put me at ease.

After I solved my issues with gum disease and receding, caused by not having my wisdom teeth removed until 2 years ago and my late 40ties, and also having bone loss caused by inflammations, but my gums grew around it , so I still have all of my teeth, they look good and gum tissue and no issues.... but if I cut my gums earlier in life, just because I don't have the longest teeth, I would probably have a big issue to deal with now! Probably my roots would be visible at some point lol. Not just people who want such a thing, but why doctors do it, do they mention that this could be a problem some day probably sooner than they thought...

A very touching moment for that woman when she found her dog. I am so happy for her...and yes, I went through the same ordeal with my Yorkie that I had for 15 years...her name was Sadie and it broke my heart when I finally had to put her down. I just gave her a kiss on the head ...held her, and told her mommy was going to make it all better. I believe she completely understood because she looked at me as she was going to sleep and licked my upper lip and nose and she went to sleep.💔R.I.P Sadie Mae

    1) The woman who lost all the weight: I'm in the middle of my journey rn, having finally been approved for surgery (Roux en Y bypass) after over a year of medical clearances, multiple dietitian visits, and insurance hoops. I feel her struggle, and her pride. ❤
    2) The dog who had their best friend: That one hit hard 😢. Over the last 1½ years, we've had to say goodbye to several of our beloved fur and shell (turtle) babies, including one who had been with me for 15 years. 💔

09:00 This confirmed what I've always thought about you. The expressions and smile on your face says it all.
I love plastic surgeons that understand how some procedures can be very important and even life-changing for some people. But you always think about your patient's safety first! I love when you call so-called "regular looking" people - like myself, beautiful. Because I, too, believe that everyone is beautiful in their own way.
I'm currently saving up money to get some face-peelings due to moderate acne scarring ok my face. I had days when I didn't want to go outside because I felt especially insecure about my scars. I'm 30 and I've been a very natural person all my life. No procedures to "improve" my look, no makeup. But these scars truly feel like a burden. I established myself as a person, with great people in my life, a goid career, and a overall healthy lifestyle. So, I don't do this to achieve any of the just mentioned things. It's just something that I do for myself. I've lived with those scars for all of my adult life. Yet, I didn't stop me. Now that I'm in a healthy place - physically and mentally - I want to do this for nobody but myself.
Long story, short: You are a beautiful person inside and out.
You look great, you use a great skincare treatment, (and some facial injections, if I'm not mistaken). But you don't try to change the things about yourself that make you, you. You are proud of your East Asian heritage, your natural look - as far as I can tell, you don't even have veneers. This would make me feel so extremely comfortable if you were my doctor.
I have some other "imperfections" like slightly protruding ears... but I don't care. And I feel like, that if I happened to be your patient, you wouldn't try to convince me to do more than I wanted and truly see my beauty, too. 🙏🏻

Thank you Dr. Youn for sharing the dog animation. I am a veterinary technician and my heart always breaks when people abandon their animals when it's time for euthanasia. This is a time when the animals need their person more than ever. I always try to make up for it by showing a lot of love and affection to the animals so they feel loved. But what the animals needs is the familiarity of their loving family. Thank you for educating people about the reality of some plastic surgery. The world needs more surgeons like you!

I have a gummy smile and really short teeth. Sometimes the dentist has implied that is because my gums come down extra far, comparatively speaking. All I know is, it's not worth going through oral surgery to look "better." It doesn't bother me enough. I have other areas I would choose to see a plastic surgeon about because they bother ME. After all, we're the only ones who have to live with ourselves, we should be the authority on where we want to spend our dollars / surgery recovery process!

And, with each scene until the ending, one begins to put two and two together about why the skin peeling process looks so horrible and painful. That skin peel doesn't look nice, nor safe to me. I rather use peeling masks that don't burn my skin and just leave it feeling fresh. 😬

Thank you for the “pet” videos. We had to help our darling, adopted chihuapoo over that Rainbow Bridge in Dec., 2020. It was during Covid, so we had a special vet come to the house and we did it on our back patio. Unfortunately, the reason we were putting her down was she sustained some severe neurological injury in an accident, and her personality changed drastically; she could ‘t stand to be touched; she screamed if her feet slipped off carpet onto our floors, and she slunk away from us in fear when we walked by her. It was hard enough just to pick her up and put her on our outdoor table. She weighed just under 9 lbs., but it took enough sedative for a 60 lb. dog to allow the vet to proceed. He said she was suffering terribly, and there was nothing else to be done for her. We loved her and gave her the best life possible, and I know she is romping over that Rainbow Bridge. She may have even met one of your departed fur babies when they arrived. We did the right thing for her; but, oh my, it was painful to do. R.I.P., sweet Roxie baby. ❤

The surgeon later told me how hard my surgery was and how he was on the phone with an urologist for hours trying to figure out how to repair it and disconnect it from my intestines. I feel i was lucky to still be alive. Why didnt he come prepared and if he didnt know what to do why did he accept the job? The more times we talked the more he said and it didnt create confidence in him. I was so greatful he didnt do my last surgery. I didnt have one complication yet and its been almost 3 yrs.
