Thank you SO (!!!) much for the midi info for the looper, that was critical for me as I was using a digitech jamman but this is so much better!
Aaron, Really valuable video explained very simply & clearly! I’ll be looking at more of your videos going forward …. Thankyou very much, Neil 😊
Thanks!
Thank you so much for your video. Just wanted to let you know that I really appreciated the tutorial. You saved a lot of time and effort for myself :)
You’re welcome!
thank you! this was helpful!
You’re welcome!
Super stoked abt this update. Thanks for reviewing it!
Hey Kirby! Do you have a QC?!
@@aaronshortmusic Nope! I'm into some quirkier pedals, so I wanted to wait until they did a few updates (like the looper, among other things) before purchasing. I LOVE their products, though, esp the Tim Henson Archetype VST
I'm saving up for a Quad Cortex at some point though
@@KirbyJane Yeah they are very cool. Let’s see what is next for the QC. It will go nicely with your Silver Sky!
Great job Aaron, Thank you.
You’re welcome!
Excellent demo, thanks for sharing!
Thanks I’m glad it helped!
Thanks for the info, this helped me a lot.

Great video, thank you!
Thank you!
This is great. Thanks
Thank you!
Thanks for your tutorial.
My question is: Is possibile to load different loop or audio track in the quad cortex looper?
No it is not possible sadly.
I want to make sure this does what I am looking for. I have a boss RC3 with a 60's Vox and a Fender tweed. I can send one guitar on one amp, and the other on the other amps. Sounds great. But now I want a bass sent to the bass amp and electronic drums sent to its own amp. Would that machine do that? Basically my issue is to be sure there are separate outputs to amps.
Found this super useful. Have the quad and beat buddy. Any thoughts on a follow up mini vids.Further thoughts on looping beat buddy and guitars. I would tune in
Sure Steve I’ll be doing more and hopefully they keep adding to it as well. Thanks for watching! Let me know if you have any specific ideas.
Really useful, thanks for sharing (:
You’re welcome. I enjoyed trying it out!
Thanks for this great video so if i understood correctly you can't solo over a recorded loop without recording/overdubbing the solo? Unless you use the undo twice then hit play...?
Sorry it’s been so long that I don’t remember. I’m sure the app has changed since then as well. Also the QC has a looper now. It’s not as advanced but it’s built in.
thank you for the video, can you save loops in the memory and use it later? for example to load backing tracks?
Not at this time. It would be great if they added that feature.
So punch option allows to rewrite any area of existing loop?? Right? Cheers beers brother ❤
Yes
👍 thanks
You’re welcome!
Hi can we have 3 seperates tracks. For example, A and E button its a Play and stop button for track 1. B and F button for track 2, etc. Like the Loopstation Boss RC300.
Not currently.
Hi, I need help understanding how to use the quantize without an external midi clock but with QC tempo. I understand that setting the quantize (e.g., 4 beats) and changing the tempo will match your recorded loop. I tried, and it did not happen. I would like to know what I am doing wrong.
Using QC as midi controller / effect unit for Loopy Pro (iOS) would be really interesting - any chance you would be up for exploring? The mic input (with phantom) is one reason QC is tempting. I’d also be interested on your thoughts about the quality of QC as an audio interface, including quality of pre-amps, vs your Apollo. Thanks for all your interesting content.
I was just using it today. Latency is not the best but I don’t notice it and audio quality is great. Also it now has its own looper as well. I love the QC and highly recommend it over the other modelers.
@@aaronshortmusic Thanks Aaron - appreciate the reply. Looking forward to exploring more of your QC content.
@@martoneill You’re welcome. I plan to make more but one reason that I have not is that the QC is so easy to use!
@@aaronshortmusic that’s great; thanks Aaron. Look forward to those videos
@@martoneill There will be some for sure!
Hey, can you have two loopers? This is to be able to record, start and stop two tracks independently, kind of like a boss RC 600. I know you can’t be on the same screen for both at the same time, but perhaps maybe you can assign some basic functionality to and external controller or one of the buttons
I agree that this would be incredible. Right now you can only have one instance of the looper but if they allowed us to add 2-3 more and have them sync together then we could. Have an awesome looper in this pedal as well. I hope that they allow this eventually.
So both QC inputs can be recorded at once ?? Guitar and vocals for ex. Right? Thnxx mate❤
Yes
So I want to be set up in stomp mode where 3 pedals are assigned to the looper. Pedal E would be record Pedal F would be stop (in this case I guess it’s called undo/redo. And pedal G would be my one shot. Leaving me all the other pedals for different fx. Is that possible??
I need that too. Not at this time sadly.
Thank you for the video.... Is there a way to set playback level louder than what the output knob allows perhaps globally?. I find the playback is very low in the mix.
I’m not sure what you mean.
@@aaronshortmusic The Playback level isn't loud enough when turned to 0db or its highest level so when paying against it you cant hear it
@@huddleshuddles7360 Is the app and phone turned up?
@@aaronshortmusic Im talking about the Quadcortex Looper I dont understand App or Phone?
Can you connect air step to the QC via Wi-Fi? Sometimes wish the QC had Bluetooth ( to be announced in my imagination) There are some great Bluetooth midi controllers
No. You can buy Bluetooth MIDI adapters. I used the WIDI Master but it was horrible. If I am going to loop I would rather use a cable.
can i ask you how to delete all of recoded??
You don’t. The loops get deleted every time you create a new one.
icant figure out why my recorded loop plays back so quiet and ihave playback all the way up can someone help me please
I use the built in looper now. Try turning up the USB level in the output mixer on the QC.
@@aaronshortmusic ill give that a try if i move the looper closer to the amp block its fine but if i put it at the end like i want on some presets it records quiet like i mentioned and wierd ihope my qc nots defected coz loopers r meant on the end of chain or begining
Thanks for the great video. I now understand how to sync the beatbuddy via midi to the QC but what if your already using a midi controller (in my case the MeloAudio Midi Commander) to control other things on the QC. How can you then sync the beatbuddy to the QC when you’ve already used the QC Midi din port? Is it possible?
You’re welcome Phil. Yes you can do it as MIDI can be daisy-chained. Some pedals have a ‘MIDI through’. You can also do something like - Midi commander out to Beat Buddy in and then beat buddy out to QC. You just have to set each device up with their own channel and make sure that they are talking to each other.
@@aaronshortmusic Unfortunately neither the bb or midi commander has midi thru although the QC does.
@@philh0954 Yes but you can go MIDI Commander out to Beat Buddy and then Beat Buddy out to QC.
@@aaronshortmusic Thanks a lot for your replies Aaron. I’m still pretty much a beginner when it comes to midi stuff. If I run a cable from midi commander to the beat buddy, how can I run a cable from beat buddy to the QC when there is no midi through on the bb. I suspect that I’m missing something obvious. Do I need a different kind of midi cable? Right now, all I have are single male to male cables.
@@philh0954 It’s just like I said. They Daisy-chain. MC to IN on the BB then out of BB to IN on QC.
can you download recorded loop files?
Not at this time. You could record them out of the USB audio.
@@aaronshortmusic thx for reply. this is really a dealbreaker for a 1600 dollar device in the year 2023.
@@Bigjuergo I agree that it would be nice but the Quad Cortex is primarily an amp and effects modeler. The looper is an add on. If you need a looper that does file import/export then it’s best to get a dedicated looper.
@@aaronshortmusic you are right, but technically it would be very easy to implement a decent looper in such high priced device that outsmarts all existing loopers! would gain a lot of additonal customers ;-)
@@Bigjuergo Again I don’t disagree and I want that too but it’s still my favorite guitar processor right now.
I haven't bought own yet so idk, does anyone know if I make a loop in the cortex and feed it into Cubase and I hit record in Cubase while thr loop is playing&connected to computer/daw? Cuz that would save so much time sometimes depending on the part you're trying to create, and this also means I'd be able to record with freeze? What a time to be alive.
It has MIDI clock so you should be able to.
