Doughnut_Vans_5573 I really don’t get why legal issues like this even happen. Prey is a word. It existed long before the game “Prey”. Why does making a game with a one-word title prohibit anyone from ever using that word again?
Chris Schoenthaler because companies are control freaks with no ability to comprehend that a simple word shouldn’t be banned from use by other companies just because it was/can be used in a different context.
@@blitsriderfield4099 They don't have a case, they just have truckloads of money to throw at a frivolous lawsuit they can use to bully a smaller company.
I like it, it forced them to be a bit more creative. Praey can be seen as a combination of Pray as in to pray and Prey as in a creature in which is hunted.
I hate degrading mechanics. They make things like crowbars and metal objects break in no time when realistically those things could take a lot before breaking.

This game seems really cool. I think the survival aspect needs to be worked on more. It seems like the needs go down super fast and almost at the same rate. I do like how it kinda adds to the challenge of fighting the bosses, like you have to be prepared(like any sensible person) to fight them. I hope they're working on an intro cut-scene or at least some form of in between cut-scene to give an idea of what's happening, why the player is there and where they are.
I don't like the survival aspects... It's so out of place in a game like this, and contributes nothing towards the actual main gameplay/non-existent story. Honestly, this game is like your average transformer movie, it looks really nice but it has no substance
Yeah, I would like an explanation of sorts as to who they are and why they are killing the Colossus thingies. At least in SOTC you were trying to save the girl. Here it's just like: yeah, you washed up on this beach, now go kill the big things.
@@stephenkrahling1634 I quite like the idea of survival elements if they're done right. Having to sleep in the middle of fighting a giant monster is plain stupid though. The rest seem quite fine though as long as the stats don't drop too fast but unless there's more downtime between the giants (probably to show some lore or smth) the game doesn't seem long enough for things to become tedious.
I love that this is a combo of Zelda and Shadow of the Colossus. I remember semi recently making a comment that I wanted something like that with a story and gameplay like Zelda but with HUGE bosses. The closest to that we have gotten in a zelda game is the Lakebed Temple boss from Twilight Princess, the Sky Temple boss from Twilight Princess, and then the giant like whale dude who was possessed by a parasite in Skyward Sword.
This game tried to copy that which was successful in shadow of the colossus, whilst putting their own spin to it all, but in doing that, they’ve made a game that looks like a newer, more modern shadow of colossus, without the emotional pull that shadow of the colossus had, this game feels empty despite its beautiful scenery as a result... despite all that... Sean still made this video worthwhile by doing what Sean does, screaming at his computer until something changed.. meaning he found something else to scream at.. thanks for making us laugh and for bringing joy to even the most mundane of things

That's because it was originally called Prey for the Gods but Zenimax said the name was too similar to their game Prey, so they called it Praey for the Gods instead.
@@muisverriet Except it didn't stick apparently, since in game it uses the original name. The only places you see the other name are ones where it has to be typed out.
As the top comment puts it perfectly, Praey for the gods is literally the 'Darksouls' of the Shadow of the Colossus, It's not meant to be easy and that's what I love about it. The survival part that you need to keep aware of for your character is honestly something I wish they had put in SotC, it doesn't make the game as simple as 'go here and kill first boss. You killed the first boss? Now go here and kill the second boss. Rinse and repeat.' Atleast with the survival mechanics it really feels like you are on a desolate, frigid island where your character feels real and human and you have to not only survive the boss battles, but the harsh winter climate and our own human instincts. I've been loving this game so far and it has huge potential for other companies to start doing the same, because, come on, who doesn't like giant slayer games like Shadow of the Colossus? And just to add to that, can we seriously make this an independent genre, a Giant Slayer genre? Seriously we need more of these type of games.
Man, i love survival games. Even though... Some times, situations get absolutely ridiculous if you think about them. 2 examples: *IN BATTLE* Foe: "hello mr. Protagonist, time to die" Me: "ok, hold on" *eats 3 pumpkins and 2 turkeys on the spot, chugs 3 bottles of potion* "Ok, let's battle!" *OUT IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE* Me: "oh, i need to sleep, let me just create a tent out of 4 pieces of cloth and a stick, without using any tools whatsoever, within 2 seconds"

Jack, I feel like the reason you died is because you probably got point blank shot in the face by the God's fireballs. Also, there was a bedroll by the fire before the second fight that you could have slept out, so you should look out for those. Biggest recommendation is to make sure your character is well-fed and well-rested before each battle so there's at least minimal difficulties with stamina and such.
before i write this... i do want to say... very impressed for just 3 people making this, a lot of the time even larger teams of 5 jump on a game and just make little 2d games that clog up steam with no substance at all... and honestly, i don't care if they took from other games to make this and not just shadow of the colossus... it's always great to take what works from a game and place it into your own! like the sailcloth from WIND WAKER!!.. it was there first... even holds it like the deku leaf... but that's a side note, as all the animations look like BoTW for movement... none of these things are an issue... i just can't really get into the game.... from this video i feel: pros: - the enviroment, look great - the enemies look great, - i love they took the time to add GOOD snow deformation and not just a random circular splodge that just appears below you :D - i like that there is some simple crafting, it makes you feel more ready as a player to fight these colossi - and a "hookshot" for quick traversal, adds SO MUCH MORE but that being said... i don't feel like the pros outweigh the cons AT THE MOMENT! (the cons can easily be fixed) cons: - i feel like there is no story to it... no reason or premise to even be there, you just washed up on shore and are now having to fight big monsters... for no reason... i'm all for kicking butt... but what's the point here? i really cannot get immersed watching this, i found myself skipping a quick 5 seconds, check what's happening and what jack is saying... then skip another 5... it just feels like a dead world... but not by design... - the survival aspect looks tedious as all hell... especially because it happens during a boss fight... that just takes away the whole spectacle of fighting the boss in the first place! i can get on board with the heat thing... i think that is cool since they went for the whole snow theme, and even the hunger, as that could play in part to your stamina meter capacity to refill... but sleep? that just seems weird, i am interested to know if you would just pass out... or just what would happen essentially.. as i guarantee, when you a have giant BEAST attacking you... you definitely are not going to fall asleep :D to sum up the survival aspect... looks good on paper, but it appears to need balancing a bit... but i more feel it's just how it came across on the video... - and honestly... the main character... i feel like the quality of the main character actually takes away from the look of the game... she doesn't look like she.. "fits" into the world... it's like she was ported from another game and placed there in the world as a placeholder character, and i personally find it very distracting ... it's like at 19:48... the fur part on top likes nice!, but the fabric of the clothes doesn't look like it exists... it looks like a bland colour... and the hair! you have great looking fur but not good hair? it's essentially longer fur" i would have been fine with that :D and since you play as that character all the time you are constantly reminded of it, and it really brings the quality down... but these things can easily be fixed! con 1, just put a story in, any believable reason for being there is better than not having one at all! con 2, it may have just been how the video portrayed it... as we didn't play it, it was an hour and a half long for jack... so who knows what other factors come into play that affect the others... like if you are constantly cold, maybe you go hungry faster because you're trying to fight off hypothermia and keep your body temperature warm? makes sense but we don't know! con 3, just update the character a bit,. they have the skill clearly as the other enemies don't look like that. those are my thoughts, i also agree with jacks points as well... soooo yeah :D good job! could easily be polished up but it DEFINITELY lacking story, and makes me really not interested... once it's in i could even let the others cons slide... so will be back then! :)
Are you saing that the character looks too low quality or too high quality when compared to other things? Whichever you meant I don't really see the problem.
The story is that you have to kill the very gods you pray to. Obviously i knew the story cause i saw the description of the game but seeing as it's in early access ya can't really complain a lot
The narrative seems to be more in the environment, like those etchings in the wall. The story isn't told to you directly. I, personally, enjoy that kind of narrative, because it feels more mysterious.
@@shayray8764 environmental storytelling is great, but there needs to be something to start the game off, a cutscene, or maybe a clever tutorial, or an npc you can talk to, even something a bit more vague like Journey could work, just to give you some context and get you a bit invested.
I *love* the design of the second beast. Like love it love it. I mean the way you kill it is basically *exactly* the same as Avion, but the design is like a fuckin dragon, like thats so badass! It kinda calls back one of the colossi that was cut from the original game (It was essentially a dragon/pterodactyl thing called Roc, it was cut because they couldn't get its physics to work properly.) I also like how these colossus seem much more aggressive. Like, the dragon is spitting fireballs at you, it has no problem breaking the towers you try to hide behind. It makes it feel like youre killing some grand terror rather than a placid giant like in SotC. Granted in SotC that gave it a real moral conflict, like, you went into *their* home to kill them and some of them didn't even try to fight you. Hell, Phalanx didnt fight you at all, if anything when it dove back into the sand it was trying to get you off of it. All n' all I think this game has potential if they tweak some things. I dont think the game itself benefits from the degradation mechanic, or the "Sleep" mechanic. I mean... like yeah I think its a neat idea to be a survival game. Makes it feel more like the character *belongs* there rather than showed up there for a purpose like Wander in SotC. BUT that being said if this game is meant to be a fight between survival and massive monsters there should be a bit less emphasis on the survival since, well I think "Massive monsters" speaks for itself. Not to say that the survival aspect is bad, it helps to fill that transition between monsters. If it has less monsters than it needs to fill that gap and I think the mechanic of keeping yourself alive works surprisingly well, however (like in the fight with the second beast) it got in the way of actually *enjoying* the fight when the character... ran out of sleep? Idk how else to say that. Like, the character got exhausted thus making the fight extremely hard in comparison to the fight going normally. Thats like if you were fighting Phalanx n' Wander got hot so he stopped being able to climb. Or you were fighting Dirge n suddenly Agro needed to eat grass so she stopped running, in the middle of the fight, *when you need that above all else.* The fights are the *main attraction.* You cant just have something hinder you from enjoying the focal point of the *entire game,* like thats just video game 101,like, nobody likes not enjoying something that *the game is based on* ESPECIALLY if its the games *second focal point.* It just makes it feel like the game is more conflicted than it should be. Each mechanic has its own place, when they collide like that it feels gritty and unpolished.
Don't know how they could fix that without changing the game's mechanics so that your character works differently during boss fights than in the normal game, like disabling the need to sleep for example. But that would essentially mean splitting the game up into two parts, and I don't think that's what the developers are going for.
Jack there is something you need to understand, This isn't sotc, you need to prepare for battles and think about how you can defeat them, the game gives you time to explore so use that time. And when the game is telling you to go to a creature with the glowing symbol on the wall and a pillar af light in the sky go to that one and dont go running after a bird. the bird is supposed to be the last one. Please come back to this game xD
would be nice if there were a sorta "Adrenalin status" when fighting bosses (and certain enemies) that prevented you from being exhausted, sleepy, hungry etc and it would kick back in awhile after defeating the bosses. Other than that this looks like a very amazing game for sure.
Yeah, I was thinking this too. There is no way that, while stood on the top of a gigantic hand, hundreds of feet above the ground, while fighting a giant bird that it trying to kill you, would you get tired. Simply adrenaline would kick in.
@@nathanstroomberg1175 I probably should have made my point clearer. No shit you would get physically exhausted, but what I meant was that there is no way you would yawn/have any urgent to go to sleep
This game, to me, feels like it's having an identity crisis. The character looks like Wander and Aloy had a kid. Her skill set is as if Link had trained her. And the environment is a mash up of Shadow of the Colossus and Skyrim.
Tristan Spencer Fuck, yeah! 🤟😝 Especially since Bloodbourne and Shadow of the Colossus are two of Jack’s favorite games of all time! TehBleachBottle my mistake, I meant to say it was released globally on shelves in december. it was released only on august 8th 2017 for ps4 and microsoft online, and then was released exclusively for xbox one in april 2018.
I agree with Jack about weapon degradation, especially in games like BOTW where I spend all my energy and resources fighting a hard mob for an awesome weapon that doesn't last very long and usually ends up breaking right when I need it most. On the other hand, it's ok it if it's like Ark: SE where they lose durability and cannot be used but can be repaired. In that situation, I end up appreciating my awesome, hard-earned weapons and treat them with care.
UltimateHalG yeah I’m (mostly) ok with degradation when it means that you can repair it either because it doesn’t work at all or it doesn’t work as well but when a weapon breaks completely that’s where I draw the line
I think it's pretty much like that. Heightens the idea of survival on an isolated environment, as you have to maintain your tools and your own physical needs as qell as fighting the giants and inhabitants of the island.
Hey, 'fun' piece of triva of all of you. As you may see, the title screen shows the game name as "Prey for the gods" while the official title of the game is "Praey for the gods". Why is this you ask? Well all its rather simple. You see, the development company of the popular Triple A title "Prey" attempted to sue this game for copyright infringement because of (as i understand it) the names being 'similar', it was originally title as it is spelt on the game screen and the developers of Prey attempted to sue them because the games name started with the word "Prey" despite the games themselves being nothing alike, and the laws against copyrighting a common word as well as the fact that the titles themselves are easily distinguishable from one another. Im unsure if they were actually taken to court but regardless it resulted in the name change you see here.
Jack: Is there something I'm missing?? Also Jack: Goes straight from the first boss to the, like, 4th one despite the game giving him a giant glowing neon sign of which boss to travel to next. They kinda expect you to have a few upgrades by the time you hit the bird boss... Also, game's a lot different now that it's out of early access. There's like 2-3 more bosses.
It’s almost...too similar to Shadow of the Colossus, but maybe that was the point. Either way it’s a gorgeous game and the music fucks hard, and it seems to be a fun time so all in all a solid game Edit: THAT WOLF IS A GOOD BOY
So Jack, I haven’t watched you in about 2 years because my internet went down, and then we moved house and didn’t have WiFi there either and now I’ve moved house again and I have WiFi once more and I just unconsciously came back to this channel. I swear to god, you are my favourite RUclipsr as you always make me laugh whether it’s a small chuckle or I’m literally rolling on the floor laughing 😂 You are my hero jack and please never change. (If you are going to change, change for the better!!) p.s. you are way better now!
Honestly, I am very disappointed by Jack at the end there. He compared this game with Shadow of the Colossus way too hard and because of that he failed at the second boss. This game obviously isn't just "climb monster and stab it till it dies." Jack seems to be treating it that way. And because of that his criticism at the end of the episode is just unfair. I hope the devs take Jack with a grain of salt if they watch this video.
it's hard not to compare a game to shadow of the colossus when they were VERY obviously trying to be shadow of the colossus. if you want to follow up a game as legendary as that one, you have to do it right or people WILL be disappointed when it isn't as good. the devs dug themselves into this hole.
People , watch the video before u comment , jack didn't do the title wrong , he already said that in the video that the game is called "PRAEY OF THE GODS" cuz they are having a copyright.
It's "pray for the gods" because that's what people do with gods, pray and hope for mercy. It's "prey for the gods" because the gods are hostile and massive and are up to no good.
honestly, Jack never thinks his way through situations, it was so simple to fight the bird boss and he didn't understand the point of the fire in the middle of the fight (earlier he used the same type of fire to open the path, he could have made fire arrows and shoot the bird). This game is very good and simple but Jack really makes thing hard for no reason. But no hate I have been watching his videos for 2 years now and really appreciate him and everything he does.
A game should make its mechanics obvious and easy to spot if they want them to work the way they do, and if its a multiple way to take on something kind of game, every path should have its pros and cons, but be equally enjoyable, dont try to defend a sloppy tedious game, if you like something push it so it can be better with time.
Adair Bernal I’m not against the game I understand it’s still in development and a work in progress, I even acknowledged the design in the game in my comment. I just wanted to point out to everybody and Jack the mistakes he makes (not trying to be rude, sorry if I sound rude I don’t mean it).
I'm gonna sound like a jerk, but you need to hear it Jack. The things you're missing are this: 1) They give you lots of spare time and opportunity to explore the world and gather resources *before* the battle so you're actually ready for it and not just... doing what you did, which is charge in head-first. 2) Speaking of charging in, you basically pulled a Breath of the Wild where you did the tutorial stuff, then went to fight Calamity Ganon (which you can do; it's stupid but you can do that), and you were *completely* unprepared for that, so yeah that's all on you, hon. 3) You're also not taking the time to gather resources and up your gear, which would give you a much better chance of survival as a whole, and not just for combat. You really gave this an unfair review based on the fact that you basically just wandered into combat and didn't know what you were doing, because you didn't take time to learn what to do outside of the tutorial. If anything, the game is trying to hold your hand a little - it doesn't have to tell you to smash circle/ B to keep up your stamina, or tell you where the next God is, but it does, which is nice. I think you need to give the game another chance and go for the God it's telling you to go for, instead of skipping ahead. /rant Edit: I didn't mention anything about the weapons and tools degenerating and how that could be annoying or detrimental, because I have a biased opinion about things like that, which is this: I love games that give you a demanding and taxing environment, and tools that are as finite as you are. I feel it adds more to the experience of the game, and makes you actually strategize your already slim chances of survival. Once you get the hang of everything - gathering resources, crafting, resting, etc. - all the challenges you face feel more and more rewarding. Don't get me wrong though, there are games that do this to the point of it being exhausting and not fun at all, but there aren't many games (if any) that are going to, say, start you out with the Master Sword or a maxed out gear set. But like I said, that's all my biased opinion, and you don't have to agree or disagree, that's just how I feel about that situation.
I think it's just challenging and Jack isn't taking proper time to level up and care for the needs of his character before rushing into a battle in a game that is supposed to be WAY LONGER than he's expecting. THERE ARE ONLY FIVE GIANT ENEMIES. This game is NOT a "ooo I beat one boss let's move on to the second right away!!!" You're supposed to enjoy the rest of the game - it's not Shadow of the Colossis and you can't play it the same way. At the end, Jack was just salty that he didn't want to play with the rest of the mechanics and follow the game's rules. This is a game I DEFINITELY want to play, and I hope his negative reaction at the end doesn't influence its development.
They cant. But they can drag this small company through a bunch of tedious lawsuits and in the meantime, they can't release their game. Just easier to change the name.
Jack, I really wish you played more of this game, you seemed to be really enjoying it until that last battle and your complaints about it were mostly because of you not understanding what needs to be done beforehand. I think if you go back to it after hearing all these comments giving advice for the game and tips for beating the boss and preparing better, it would be much easier and more enjoyable for you. Especially since the developers seem to like you so much and it seems like you had a working relationship with them.
Atraeus, the teenage years. These are the battles of the Son of Kraytos, His ongoing mission, to seek out enormous life, To arm himself heavily, and to stab those giants in the face with his sword until it's dead. Daddy would be proud BOY, Daddy would be proud...
The minute this game started I immediately got a feeling that this would have a more Skandanavian take on Shadow of the Colossus which got me so excited.
you were doing it all correct during that boss battle but at the end Im pretty sure you have to shoot the bird in the mouth with a flaming arrow when he opens his mouth just before he you died
Not through the whole video yet but I noticed that on the wall something was coming out of the colossus stomach and then on the other image that they restrained one of them. When you see the first colossus it doesn’t have a abdomen or stomach area. Maybe the colossus was unwilling to let the people praise whatever was in or on their stomach so they forcefully took it.

Bethesda smiles. NOMATTER just facepalms.

I agree about a cut scene. It just dumps you in the game without any storyline

@@jacksepticeye hi jack!
2 examples:
*IN BATTLE*
Foe: "hello mr. Protagonist, time to die"
Me: "ok, hold on"
*eats 3 pumpkins and 2 turkeys on the spot, chugs 3 bottles of potion*
"Ok, let's battle!"
*OUT IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE*
Me: "oh, i need to sleep, let me just create a tent out of 4 pieces of cloth and a stick, without using any tools whatsoever, within 2 seconds"
@DamageIncM, well, you need to look after food, temperature, sleep and health. Definitely part survival game. Not entirely. But partially.

Jack, I feel like the reason you died is because you probably got point blank shot in the face by the God's fireballs. Also, there was a bedroll by the fire before the second fight that you could have slept out, so you should look out for those. Biggest recommendation is to make sure your character is well-fed and well-rested before each battle so there's at least minimal difficulties with stamina and such.
fight prep i something people suck dick at tbh
if you had slept before the battle, you probably would have done better. Your sleep had been going down the entire time you were playing!
before i write this... i do want to say... very impressed for just 3 people making this, a lot of the time even larger teams of 5 jump on a game and just make little 2d games that clog up steam with no substance at all... and honestly, i don't care if they took from other games to make this and not just shadow of the colossus... it's always great to take what works from a game and place it into your own!
like the sailcloth from WIND WAKER!!.. it was there first... even holds it like the deku leaf... but that's a side note, as all the animations look like BoTW for movement...
none of these things are an issue... i just can't really get into the game....
from this video i feel:
pros:
- the enviroment, look great
- the enemies look great,
- i love they took the time to add GOOD snow deformation and not just a random circular splodge that just appears below you :D
- i like that there is some simple crafting, it makes you feel more ready as a player to fight these colossi
- and a "hookshot" for quick traversal, adds SO MUCH MORE
but that being said... i don't feel like the pros outweigh the cons AT THE MOMENT! (the cons can easily be fixed)
cons:
- i feel like there is no story to it... no reason or premise to even be there, you just washed up on shore and are now having to fight big monsters... for no reason... i'm all for kicking butt... but what's the point here? i really cannot get immersed watching this, i found myself skipping a quick 5 seconds, check what's happening and what jack is saying... then skip another 5... it just feels like a dead world... but not by design...
- the survival aspect looks tedious as all hell... especially because it happens during a boss fight... that just takes away the whole spectacle of fighting the boss in the first place!
i can get on board with the heat thing... i think that is cool since they went for the whole snow theme, and even the hunger, as that could play in part to your stamina meter capacity to refill... but sleep? that just seems weird, i am interested to know if you would just pass out... or just what would happen essentially.. as i guarantee, when you a have giant BEAST attacking you... you definitely are not going to fall asleep :D
to sum up the survival aspect... looks good on paper, but it appears to need balancing a bit... but i more feel it's just how it came across on the video...
- and honestly... the main character... i feel like the quality of the main character actually takes away from the look of the game... she doesn't look like she.. "fits" into the world... it's like she was ported from another game and placed there in the world as a placeholder character, and i personally find it very distracting ... it's like at 19:48... the fur part on top likes nice!, but the fabric of the clothes doesn't look like it exists... it looks like a bland colour... and the hair! you have great looking fur but not good hair? it's essentially longer fur" i would have been fine with that :D
and since you play as that character all the time you are constantly reminded of it, and it really brings the quality down...
but these things can easily be fixed!
con 1, just put a story in, any believable reason for being there is better than not having one at all!
con 2, it may have just been how the video portrayed it... as we didn't play it, it was an hour and a half long for jack... so who knows what other factors come into play that affect the others... like if you are constantly cold, maybe you go hungry faster because you're trying to fight off hypothermia and keep your body temperature warm? makes sense but we don't know!
con 3, just update the character a bit,. they have the skill clearly as the other enemies don't look like that.
those are my thoughts, i also agree with jacks points as well...
soooo yeah :D
good job! could easily be polished up but it DEFINITELY lacking story, and makes me really not interested... once it's in i could even let the others cons slide... so will be back then!
It’s still in development, so I feel like they’re pulling a subnautica, in that they work on the environment first and then add in the story.
Love Jacks appreciation for the game design and attention to detail. Really gives the artists and coders well deserved attention and compliments :)
Or you were fighting Dirge n suddenly Agro needed to eat grass so she stopped running, in the middle of the fight, *when you need that above all else.*
The fights are the *main attraction.* You cant just have something hinder you from enjoying the focal point of the *entire game,* like thats just video game 101,like, nobody likes not enjoying something that *the game is based on* ESPECIALLY if its the games *second focal point.* It just makes it feel like the game is more conflicted than it should be.

I’m ok with weapon degradation as long as weapons last a while or I’m able to repair them fairly easily
BOTW meets Shadow of the Colossus? Works for me.

Im unsure if they were actually taken to court but regardless it resulted in the name change you see here.
jack explains that during the game
That's really dumb.. some people are just out for money, aren't they? -.-
Yeah it's a dumb reason to try and sue
That’s so stupid, what the hell?
If that aint a middle finger to bethesda i dont know what is lol
Jack: Is there something I'm missing??
Also Jack: Goes straight from the first boss to the, like, 4th one despite the game giving him a giant glowing neon sign of which boss to travel to next.
They kinda expect you to have a few upgrades by the time you hit the bird boss... Also, game's a lot different now that it's out of early access. There's like 2-3 more bosses.
It’s almost...too similar to Shadow of the Colossus, but maybe that was the point. Either way it’s a gorgeous game and the music fucks hard, and it seems to be a fun time so all in all a solid game
Edit: THAT WOLF IS A GOOD BOY

@@claudia-7917 yikes
@@claudia-7917 oof
Because it's basically sotc 2.0 with survival mechanics. He has every right to compare it.
His criticisms are completely fair. I think the game will be fine, but he has every right to criticize and not like shoehorned survival mechanics.
it's hard not to compare a game to shadow of the colossus when they were VERY obviously trying to be shadow of the colossus. if you want to follow up a game as legendary as that one, you have to do it right or people WILL be disappointed when it isn't as good. the devs dug themselves into this hole.
"Ah, what does this do"- stands in very visible fire
People , watch the video before u comment , jack didn't do the title wrong , he already said that in the video that the game is called "PRAEY OF THE GODS" cuz they are having a copyright.
It's "pray for the gods" because that's what people do with gods, pray and hope for mercy. It's "prey for the gods" because the gods are hostile and massive and are up to no good.
Yeah cool comment. But did you know jack spelt the title wrong?

Well Jack, you always said you wanted a snow area in Shadow of the Colossus. Here you go! This game looks awesome! Can't wait for the full release!
honestly, Jack never thinks his way through situations, it was so simple to fight the bird boss and he didn't understand the point of the fire in the middle of the fight (earlier he used the same type of fire to open the path, he could have made fire arrows and shoot the bird). This game is very good and simple but Jack really makes thing hard for no reason. But no hate I have been watching his videos for 2 years now and really appreciate him and everything he does.
Leave jackaboi alone
Stop hating, jack just wants to have fun
A game should make its mechanics obvious and easy to spot if they want them to work the way they do, and if its a multiple way to take on something kind of game, every path should have its pros and cons, but be equally enjoyable, dont try to defend a sloppy tedious game, if you like something push it so it can be better with time.
Lol stop hating on jack he plays for fun not competitive
Adair Bernal I’m not against the game I understand it’s still in development and a work in progress, I even acknowledged the design in the game in my comment. I just wanted to point out to everybody and Jack the mistakes he makes (not trying to be rude, sorry if I sound rude I don’t mean it).
I think nothing will top shadow of the colassus to Jack

Yeah :) Although, because I've seen this video, now I kinda want to buy Shadow of the Colossus and finally try it out for myself....
I'm gonna sound like a jerk, but you need to hear it Jack. The things you're missing are this:
1) They give you lots of spare time and opportunity to explore the world and gather resources *before* the battle so you're actually ready for it and not just... doing what you did, which is charge in head-first.

Edit: I didn't mention anything about the weapons and tools degenerating and how that could be annoying or detrimental, because I have a biased opinion about things like that, which is this:
I love games that give you a demanding and taxing environment, and tools that are as finite as you are.
I hope Jack sees this! I would hate for this game to get an unintentionally unfair review!
Get over yourself dude jesus fucking christ
Why the huge comments, lads?
Read a fuggin book dude
You wasted 15 minutes of ur life writing this dumbass comment
If the Fine Brothers can't take the word "React" then Bathesda can't take the word "Prey"
YoU mIsSpElLeD bEtHeSdA (keep in mind that this is a joke, i'm making fun of all the idiots that think the game title is "prey" or "pray")

I love how sean plays... he doesn't really need people to tell him what to do... he figures it out for himself.
Well yeah, some people want to actually enjoy the secrets of the game for themselves rather than just whoring out for the fans, y'know?

Not through the whole video yet but I noticed that on the wall something was coming out of the colossus stomach and then on the other image that they restrained one of them. When you see the first colossus it doesn’t have a abdomen or stomach area. Maybe the colossus was unwilling to let the people praise whatever was in or on their stomach so they forcefully took it.
