there is the old idea that discipline and time can be used to become a millionaire. That is, have the discipline to save and invest something each month, and then through the magic of compound interest, in 40 years or so, the money will have grown to be in the million dollar range. The two problems with this is 1) its a long ass time; 2) you gotta have an extra few hundred to spare each month.

These are 2 big problems for people who have avg lifespans of 80-ish years.

I did this. It works with investments and property. Start when you are young and crop off 15% of your paycheque, even if it is small. The magic of compound interest over time. If you never get that 15% you are not tempted to spend it. The younger you are equals the more risky your investment, but the higher your returns. Overtime you can absorb loses but can acquire substantial gains. When you are approaching the Old Fart age group you have to go more short-term conservative.

@@whodareswinslv4265 those are literally the o lot ways to do it and I’ve known it for 20 years but I’ve never had a spare dime to invest and usually you need a lot of dimes.

@@IRLWojak I understand this. These days I can't do what I did in the past. As soon as I get it, almost 100% of my paycheque is gone toward necessities. The middle class is being squeezed out. Inflation skyrocketing past wages. Something has to give.

I thought this title was just a very clever clickbait experiment lol.
It looks like a big economic collapse is starting, which could actually present a huge opportunity for people like us. Like the 2008 crash. It resets everyone upper-middle-class and below back on equal footing.
Don't get blackpilled as everything falls down around us. Be ready to hustle for a couple years to scrape a new business out of the ashes. When you have nothing left to lose anyway, it's time to take big risks, while everyone else is scared and clinging to what little they have left.

Thing is, people like us have to have something to work with and I’m still flat broke and poor.
